My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 92: Power Outage?
Hearing her say this, Shawn Lockwood couldn’t help but smile slightly, then spoke up.
"Miss Shawcross, you truly are the cutest girl I’ve ever met."
The boy’s face was full of seriousness and sincerity. As he spoke, he suddenly lowered his head and said softly.
"If you’ve been feeling down because of your ex lately... actually... you can reach out to me. I’m willing to accompany you to watch movies and go shopping until you’re happy again." After saying these words, the boy’s pale face was slightly flushed due to shyness.
The boy’s innocent demeanor made Summer Shawcross pause for a moment.
Just as she opened her mouth, intending to respond, she noticed the expression of the man opposite was so cold it was almost menacing.
Startled, she turned her head to look across and was taken aback by Noah Drexler’s current demeanor.
For some reason, his angry expression still made her chest feel a bit tight.
She took a deep breath and then suddenly smiled, diverting the topic.
"Um, let’s talk another day. My stomach feels a bit uncomfortable, and I want to go to the restroom..."
She had no doubt that if she stayed here any longer, the table would be flipped by the man whose face was currently full of anger!
After all, today was the tenth anniversary of Mr. Lockwood’s first bar, and she didn’t want to ruin this commemorative dinner!
Hearing her say this, Shawn Lockwood’s expression showed a bit of disappointment, but he still nodded.
"Yeah, you should go."
After politely smiling at Mr. Lockwood and his wife, Summer Shawcross stood up, took off her suit jacket, and then left the dining table, turning towards the direction of the bathroom.
It wasn’t until she entered the restroom that she heaved a sigh of relief.
She wasn’t sure why when the man looked at her with such rage, her heart inexplicably felt guilty.
But clearly, he was the one who went out looking for another woman first, and she was just chatting with another guy, so why should she feel guilty?
She thought, it must be because his gaze was too sharp, and his expression was too cold and frightening!
It must not be her fault!
Still fuming, Summer Shawcross reached the bathroom door.
After drinking quite a bit of juice just now, she indeed felt the need to use the restroom, so she walked into the ladies’ room.
Just as she finished and walked out of the stall intending to wash her hands, she suddenly heard...
—Snap!
With a light sound, the lights in the restroom suddenly went out, and the surroundings became pitch black.
She froze on the spot, only then realizing that the sound just now was probably the power tripping.
How could the power trip out of nowhere? She sighed helplessly.
With sudden darkness all around, and without her phone to use as a flashlight, she could only stay put, not daring to move, since she couldn’t see anything and had to obediently wait for the power to come back on.
A second... two seconds...
But, after waiting for quite a while, there was no sign of the power coming back.
Standing in the darkness, Summer Shawcross suddenly felt inexplicably uneasy.
However... just then, a set of footsteps sounded quietly outside the restroom.
They sounded like leather shoes stepping on the ground, steady, one step at a time... even with a creepy echo.
The footsteps echoing through the empty corridor made Summer Shawcross feel a chill creeping up her spine.
