Chapter 66: Chapter 66: What Is There Left to Fear?

Although others couldn’t discern Noah Drexler’s emotions from his face, having been by his side for many years, Sean Morgan could sense those subtle emotions.

Over the years, he had seen many things and people that could infuriate Noah Drexler, but... something that could make him happy, never truly existed.

"Could there be some misunderstanding about what happened during the day?" Sean pondered and spoke softly again.

If Mrs. Shawcross knew how to act to please him, she wouldn’t have repeatedly angered him, been confined indoors as punishment, and ended up throwing things around in frustration these past two years.

So, this confidential leak might just be a coincidence or a misunderstanding altogether.

After listening to Sean’s words, Noah Drexler said nothing, only looked profoundly in the direction Summer Shawcross had left.

"Sir, should I hang this in the wardrobe for you?" A servant glanced at what Noah Drexler held in his hand and whispered.

"No need." Without even glancing at the servant, Noah Drexler coldly refused and then turned to go upstairs.

The servant paused for a moment, then quickly withdrew their hand, looking at Noah Drexler’s departing figure with a somewhat puzzled expression.

The gentleman’s wardrobe had always been organized by the villa’s servants, so why today...

Sean gave the servant a glance and remembered when the boss had previously told him to discard that item, so he kindly reminded her.

"Ahem... remember, don’t touch that item, ever."

After listening to Sean, the expression on the servant’s face became even more peculiar.

...

On the second floor, Noah Drexler had just returned to his bedroom and was about to put the clothes from the bag into the wardrobe when suddenly his phone vibrated.

He reached for his phone, and when he saw the number displayed, his expression changed slightly.

"It seems your wings really have hardened. Even for me, your biological father, to contact you seems so difficult!" The voice of an old man speaking amid a cough came through the phone.

Upon hearing the voice, Noah Drexler’s gaze grew colder. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Is there something you need?"

"What, I can’t call you without a reason?"

"I’m busy, not in the mood to hear your nonsense!" He sneered.

"You... you ungrateful child! Good... very good! Your wings have truly hardened; you’re even daring to threaten me now. What wouldn’t you dare to do next, perhaps kill me?" The old man’s frantic voice echoed.

Hearing the furious voice, Noah Drexler’s expression remained as cold as ever, showing no hint of emotion.

Just as he was about to hang up, the old man’s voice continued through the phone.

"I’ve already brought back that woman’s ashes. What do you plan to do next?"

Hearing the voice on the phone, Noah Drexler’s expression shifted slightly.

Moments later, his deep, steady voice resonated.

"I want her to be ceremoniously buried in The Drexler Family’s cemetery."

After he spoke, there was a two-second silence on the other end, followed by the laughter of the elder Drexler,

"Haha, as expected... I can agree to that, but you ought to attend your mother’s funeral, shouldn’t you?"

"Of course." Noah Drexler pressed his lips together.

As soon as he finished, he hung up the phone, and a profound chill lingered on his handsome face...

Suddenly, the sound of light footsteps emerged.

"Noah Drexler..." Summer Shawcross entered the bedroom holding a bowl of white fungus and lotus seed soup, and upon seeing the man’s frighteningly cold face, she was startled and froze on the spot.
