Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Afraid of Hurting Him

Watching her nervous look, Noah Drexler frowned slightly and snorted disdainfully.

"Superstitious!"

As he spoke, his gaze fell again on her tear-streaked, somewhat comical face, his eyes deepening.

Noticing his gaze, Summer Shawcross finally realized something, reached out to touch her cheek, and then looked a bit embarrassed.

"Is it ugly..."

When she checked her phone earlier, she was startled by her own reflection on the screen.

After he got injured, she’d been so tense she didn’t have the mood or energy to remove her makeup, wash her face, or change clothes, so even now, she was still wearing the outfit from the music video shoot. Adding to that, her makeup was ruined from crying. She imagined she must look quite ridiculous.

However... when she recalled Noah Drexler on the lawn just after he was injured and kissed her, she became even more stunned.

He, looking at her face just like this, actually kissed her... and it was even when he was seriously injured.

"Hmm, very ugly." Noah Drexler pressed his thin lips together and said.

Upon hearing him say it was ugly too, Summer Shawcross’s expression changed a bit, and she pursed her lips in slight disappointment.

She turned around, planning to leave to wash her face.

But just at that moment, the man suddenly reached out and grasped her wrist.

She was startled for a moment, then was pulled towards the hospital bed by him...

Startled, she unexpectedly fell into his arms, and before she could react, the man wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, preventing her from getting up.

"Noah Drexler..." Summer Shawcross looked at him helplessly.

"Don’t move, I’m injured!" Seeing her restless, the man moved his Adam’s apple and said in a deep voice.

A blatant threat to her.

Upon hearing his words, Summer Shawcross froze, and indeed dared not move recklessly, for fear of hurting him.

This man, knowing he’s injured, why couldn’t he just be more careful?

Wasn’t he afraid that his injuries would worsen like this?

Thinking this, she couldn’t help but raise her head, speechlessly glaring at the slightly pale handsome face of the man.

"I need to wash my face..." Summer Shawcross pursed her lips, quietly whispering, hoping he would let her go.

But the man’s arms remained tight around her, showing no sign of loosening.

"Let me look at you a little longer." He lowered his eyes, his gaze fixed on her face, observing her current expression intently.

His burning gaze swept over every inch of her face, missing no detail or expression...

Even her slightly closed lips in dissatisfaction.

Her expression now as vibrant as before...

Seeing her like this, his heart was filled with delight, and the injuries on his body suddenly seemed insignificant.

The man’s gaze was so deep and intense that Summer Shawcross’s cheeks felt somewhat warm from being stared at.

"Didn’t you say it’s ugly..." she mumbled softly, biting her lip.

Didn’t he say she looked ugly now? Why was he still staring at her, not even averting his gaze?

"I like looking at ugly things, can’t I?" The man frowned slightly and replied nonchalantly.

Upon hearing his words, Summer Shawcross’s expression changed.

"..." She looked at him wordlessly, falling silent.

Why did she feel like he was indirectly insulting her?
