My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 333: Satisfied Now?
He originally intended to bring her here a bit early today, but was held up for nearly two hours by those annoying folks at the company.
Only after he asked did Summer Shawcross realize she was actually feeling a bit hungry, so she nodded.
"A little..."
As soon as she spoke, Noah Drexler raised his hand and put it around her waist, leading her towards the cabin with lights on.
...
The cabin is relatively large, but it has two floors.
The first floor is a leisure area, with a living room and a dining room.
The living room is furnished with sofas and other leisure furniture, while a long table in the dining room is set with a sumptuous Western meal, and on the table, candles are burning in the candelabra.
Summer Shawcross looked surprised, not expecting it to be a candlelight dinner. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Even though she knew it must have been prepared by Noah Drexler’s staff, she still felt quite happy inside.
She walked to the dining table, glanced at the chair in front of her, then turned to Noah Drexler beside her, speaking with playful insistence.
"Noah, gentlemen are supposed to pull out chairs..."
After she spoke, Noah Drexler frowned slightly, showing a hint of disdain on his handsome, aloof face.
"Troublesome."
"..." She showed a helpless expression, realizing she shouldn’t have any romantic expectations of him.
Thinking this, she sighed as she was about to reach out to pull the chair herself, but the man’s large hand was faster than her.
Noah Drexler, expressionless, came by her side and pulled the chair into a suitable position before releasing it, then raised an eyebrow and asked her.
"Satisfied?"
"Thank you." Summer Shawcross smiled, happily saying a word of thanks, then turned around and sat down.
Seeing her seated, Noah Drexler turned around and sat down at the opposite end of the long table.
Just as the two settled down, the lights in the cabin suddenly went out, leaving only the glow of candles on the dining table.
Summer Shawcross was startled for a moment, noticing now a large floor-to-ceiling glass window beside the dining table, which she hadn’t paid attention to with the lights on earlier. Now with the lights out, she discovered that outside the window was a meadow wetland, and in this wetland, many warm yellow dots were flickering.
The number of fireflies here was beyond Summer Shawcross’s imagination.
She opened her mouth in surprise, couldn’t help but ask.
"Why are there so many fireflies here?"
From what she knew, the living conditions for fireflies are naturally demanding, with light pollution and various traces of human habitation posing threats, making it rare to see fireflies in the city these days.
Although this area was suitable for fireflies to thrive, the number of fireflies here was overly exaggerated.
Seeing her surprise, Noah Drexler’s face finally showed a hint of satisfaction.
"There will be more in the future." He said while cutting the fish fillet on his plate with his knife and fork.
This firefly protection base is just beginning to show results.
In a few more years, the number of fireflies here will increase by hundreds of times, becoming the largest firefly base in the country.
Noah Drexler’s words stunned Summer Shawcross for a moment.
"Why?" she asked, puzzled, looking at him.
But Noah Drexler merely glanced at her without answering, instead looking at the fish fillet in front of her and saying.
"Weren’t you hungry?"
Summer Shawcross pursed her lips before nodding, picking up the knife and fork on the table.
