The December sunlight was bright and warm. Yun Xi had been busy with the company’s annual project lately. On top of that, she was fully responsible for the collaboration between Yun Group and Lu Group, so she was extremely busy.

Ever since that night they ran into each other at the bar, Yun Xi hadn’t met Lu Xize for more than half a month. Their work natures were different, so accidental meetings were hard to come by, unless it was at the entertainment venues they frequently visited. However, recently, Yun Xi was too occupied to have time for such outings!

Even on Saturdays and Sundays, she worked non-stop, sleeping roughly five hours a day, which was considered long, as there were days she only slept for over three hours before diving into various tasks.

In her 25 years of life, she had never been this busy, nor had she pushed herself so hard.

She had been with Yun Group for more than two to three years. Despite her busyness before, she always managed to find ways to slack off. Hence, this time, it was unclear whether she was trying to escape something, or if she was just working hard because she had decided to return to Germany.

"Director Yun, I’ve prepared the information you needed. Could you check if there’s anything missing? I haven’t picked up the sample image from over there yet. They said the previous sample had a minor fault, and the remaining samples might take another two days," Assistant Jiang Xinrui said, placing a stack of documents beside her, while observing Yun Xi intensely focusing on her draft.

After listening, Yun Xi looked up at her, put down a pencil she was holding, and picked up one of the documents Jiang Xinrui brought, raising her eyebrows: "Urge for that sample image again. It’s been nearly a week, and the release board for this period should be out soon, but the sample image still hasn’t come through. If it doesn’t, the people on their side might collectively go on strike."

"Alright, I’ll call and check on it later."

"Okay."

Yun Xi began organizing the documents again, but noticed Jiang Xinrui had no intention of leaving and seemed to want to say something but hesitated. She chuckled and asked, "What’s up? Is there anything else?"

"Rumors about me?" Yun Xi opened her eyes wide in surprise, pausing for a moment: "What rumors about me? How come I don’t know?"

"It’s... just started spreading these past two days."

"Then tell me, what kind of rumors?"

"I heard... you might be leaving Yun Group? Is that true?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Yun Xi was momentarily stunned again, then laughed, nodding without denying: "Yes, I currently have that idea. After completing this project with Lu Group, I may return to Germany. To be clear with you, I’m planning to promote you to Deputy Director of the Design Department before I leave. The Design Department will then officially be handed over to you. In my absence, you’ll need to work hard and shoulder this responsibility, understand? So, make sure to work hard and not let down my expectations."

Listening to Yun Xi speak so plainly, Jiang Xinrui covered her mouth in disbelief, looking as if she might burst into tears: "Director Yun... why are you leaving?"
