Chapter 372: At Fameville

Anastasia was at Julianโ€™s gym with Alex, training. ๐™›๐’“๐“ฎ๐’†๐”€๐’†๐™—๐“ท๐’๐™ซ๐’†๐™ก.๐’„๐“ธ๐“ถ

Their bodies were drenched with sweat from the relentless training sessions, a necessity for Anastasia to grow stronger in combat.

"Youโ€™re getting pretty good at this. Are you sure youโ€™ve never done this before?" Alex asked her.

Although they just met a few weeks ago, they rarely spoke with each other. However, this was one of the rarest moments when they exchanged a few words with each other.

Anastasia shook her head, a hint of frustration in her voice. "I feel like Iโ€™ve done this somewhere before. This isnโ€™t the first time," she muttered before swiftly delivering a powerful kick to his abdomen. The force sent him crashing to the ground instantly.

"Well, take it easy okay?" Alex held his abdomen with a tight grip that made Anastasia wonder if she hit him that hard. He was wearing a protective boxing suit after all.

"Iโ€™m sorry," she apologized, helping him off the ground. Then she walked to the other side and grabbed herself a glass of water.

"You keep getting stronger day by day. Itโ€™s as if you want to kill someone as soon as possible," he joked, slipping out of his body suit.

"If I had it my way, I would have killed every one of them already," she responded, shaking her head slightly.

"That sounds scary," Alex mumbled under his breath but he was still loud enough for Anastasia to hear him.

She took a sip of her water, her mind drifting off to what Julian informed her of two days ago when they were leaving the restaurant.

Anastasiaโ€™s mind wandered to the trade Julian had told her about the day before. He had warned her against going, emphasizing the danger involved. There was no guarantee that Xavier would appear to save the girls being sold that night. According to Julian, numerous sex trafficking trades had been uncovered in recent months, revealing Xanderโ€™s countless hideouts.

"What if heโ€™s not able to make it to the one holding at Fameville and the girls eventually got sold out to those filthy pigs?" she suddenly wondered out loud, earning a questionable look from Alex.

"What are you talking about?"

"Julian told me that...." Then she narrated what Julian had told her. Even before she could complete her sentences, Alex stopped her with a look.

"You canโ€™t go there. Itโ€™s too dangerous, and the worst part is that we donโ€™t even know if Xander will show up," Julian said, his tone edged with frustration. "Do you even realize where this trade is happening? In a hidden cave at the top of the mountain, Anastasia. Xanderโ€™s not stupidโ€”he picks the most obscure places for these trades, places no one would think of."

He tried to reason with her, but the blank expression on her face made it painfully clear she wasnโ€™t listening. Instead, her gaze was fixed on some distant point, her mind already made up.

"So the chances of Xavier finding that hideout is close to none, which only means that those girls will be sold?" She questioned.

The city was a few hours away from Xattlewood, and if she was to take air traveling, she would arrive there in less than twelve hours.

"Could be. But even if thatโ€™s the case, thereโ€™s nothing you can do about it," Julian said, his voice sharp. "Youโ€™re avenging what Xander and Samantha did to you. Now imagine thisโ€”if theyโ€™re there and they see you, do you really think youโ€™ll still be able to avenge yourself and your dead friends?"

His words hit hard, but Anastasiaโ€™s expression remained unreadable, her silence both unsettling and defiant.

Anastasia suddenly snapped to look at him with a stoic expression that made it difficult to read what was going on in her mind.

"I want to save those girls. Like you said, this is my revenge, and what other best way to revenge if not by gatecrashing that trade?" She questioned him back, silencing him immediately.

Alex wanted to say something but held himself back. It was obvious no matter what he said, Anastasia wasnโ€™t going to listen to him.

Anastasia regarded Alex for a few seconds before she picked up her phone and made a phone call to Julian.

She explained to him the plan she had, and before she could say everything sheโ€™d thought of, he interrupted her with, "I have already planned everything out for you."

At first, Anastasia was taken aback. Sheโ€™d thought she would need a long essay filled with explanations on why Julian should help her rescue the girls, but he surprised her by already arranging everything she would need.

"Alex will bring you to the airport," he added, then he hung up on the call.

Anastasia looked at Alex, and without even saying a word, the latter already knew what she was going to say. All he could do was roll his eyes and walk out of the gym.

Anastasia followed behind him with a grin on her lips. She was finally going to rescue girls that needed saving.

But the thought of bumping into Xavier, if he does come, made her heart jump. She didnโ€™t want to think about him right now, so she decided to think of something else.

A few hours later in Fameville,

"According to our information, the trade should begin in the next two hours," Tracie said, her voice steady as her gaze flickered between Maxwell and Kace before settling on Xavier.

He sat in the driverโ€™s seat, stoic as ever, his dark aura making it impossible for anyone to approach him. He had been like this for months now, and every time Tracie saw him like this, she couldnโ€™t help but feel a pang of worry.

"They were so scared of Xavier to think of opening the trade in the cave at the top of the mountain," Kace tried to joke, but nobody laughed, making him feel; embarrassed.

Tracy patted his head with a soft smile. When she saw they were nearing, she asked, "Are we ready?"
