My Ability Pool is Superior-Chapter 35 - 34: The Encounter
"Help me..." Sun Chuan was still struggling.
Lv Bai glanced at the passageway that had already been breached by zombies, filled with screams.
He stepped next to Sun Chuan, somewhat embarrassed: "That zombie was thrown by me."
Upon hearing this, Sun Chuan, afflicted by his injuries, couldn’t muster a full smile, but still endured the intense pain and said: "It’s not your fault, you... first, first save..."
"Since it’s my mistake, so..."
Lv Bai shook his head and spoke seriously: "First, I’ll claim nothing happened."
Sun Chuan: "?"
Ultimately, the injuries were too severe, and Sun Chuan glared at Lv Bai intently, not long before he breathed his last.
During the waiting period, Lv Bai also swung his sword to kill two zombies that blindly approached him.
Looking at the now non-breathing Sun Chuan, he sighed deeply: "Forgot in between; anyway, should have done something back then, but it’s too late now."
[Ding!]

The sudden sound of this prompt in his mind genuinely shocked Lv Bai.
Death Fighter?
Even weaker than Fan Ding, how did he survive until now?
Lv Bai pondered, as a zombie approached he swung his sword without even raising his head.
"How can this guy be a Death Fighter?" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
During this period, several soldiers in the passage were infected and turned into zombies; the nearest living person was only Lv Bai.
The zombies didn’t overthink, howling as they swarmed over.
Gathered around the passage, the number of zombies wasn’t small. Lv Bai estimated that he couldn’t clear the zombies nearby in a short time; he had no reason to stay, so he decisively turned and ran off.
Inside the shelter area were slanted tents everywhere, with quite a few bloody footprints on the tarps, and the air was filled with the smell of blood.
Recalling, Lv Bai realized he hadn’t heard cries or screams for a while; unsurprisingly, what’s left in the Twenty-Third District now were probably all zombies.
But the refugees originally assigned to the Twenty-Third District shouldn’t all be infected; hopefully, some managed to escape.
With his blood-stained Eight-sided Han Sword, Lv Bai swiftly dashed between the tents.
Based on his guess, if Wu Ya and the others managed to escape from the Twenty-Third District, they’d either head towards the military camp seeking shelter or come to the Seventh District to find him.
Intuition leaned him toward the latter possibility.
His intuition was correct.
...
Wu Ya and her group were on their way to the Seventh District.
It’s worth noting, the Seventh District and the Eighth District, having no zombie appearances, hadn’t been fully sealed off, needing only an inspection to pass.
Looking down from a high point, at the passage were several long queues, people shoulder to shoulder, their spiritual state seemed tense, like tightly-strung strings.
The group of three women and one man passed through the inspection point onto the roads of the Seventh District.
"Isn’t he the one who looks pretty good, carrying a sword?"
Guo Mi held a lady cigarette she had just lit between her fingers, speaking with a convincing power.
Wu Ya vaguely felt something was off: "Do you really know Lü?"
"Of course, he and I have quite deep connections."
Guo Mi slowly exhaled a smoke ring, concealing her expression completely.
Even though Guo Mi hadn’t shown any hostility towards them along the way, Ke Jiangni still remained vigilant.
Ke Jiangni suddenly interrupted their conversation: "Anyway, we’re almost there, we’ll know if you recognize each other once you meet."
Tian Wang ran up, panting heavily, desperately wanting to rest a bit, was eager to sleep right on the ground, having no intention of joining the conversation.
Including the Seventh District, no zombies had appeared in several regions yet.
However, hearing the dense gunshots from afar, few could sleep peacefully.
Most of the residents came out of military tents, and quite a few standing outside observing couldn’t help but yawn.
This isn’t surprising.
Since Lv Bai infiltrated the research center, they’ve been going at it until now, nearly three in the morning.
"Lü’s tent is just over there." Wu Ya quickened her steps.
Guo Mi followed closely behind Wu Ya, unknowingly biting tight on the filter of her cigarette.
She recalled the scene when Lv Bai first appeared before her: a clean, efficient man, who acted with swift precision.
If not for having new cards up her sleeve, she wouldn’t dare face Lv Bai again.
Guo Mi was ready to act, yet when the tent flap opened, it was empty inside.
"Where is he?"
Missing him, Guo Mi felt a sudden frustration as if a two-player game abruptly stopped.
Unfortunately, Wu Ya and the others wanted to know just as much.
But although Lü Bai had many roommates in the tent, few were alive.
Making it hard for them to ask around about the situation, not knowing whom to ask.
Tian Wang was eager to rest, hesitated a bit, then proposed: "Why don’t we just stay here and wait for him to return?"
"Alright." Guo Mi took a deep breath, adjusting her mood.
Serendipity.
Just as they gradually sat down, the tent flap was lifted once more.
Lv Bai glanced around, cheerfully asking: "Are all of you here looking for me?"
Though he asked with ’all of you,’ his main focus was still on Guo Mi.
Whether intentional or not, Guo Mi sat right beside Wu Ya, the two nearly pressed together.
At such close distance, if Guo Mi made a move, Lv Bai wasn’t sure he could save Wu Ya.
Seeing Lv Bai, Wu Ya hadn’t spoken yet, Guo Mi rose up suddenly.
Feeling perhaps she had overreacted, Guo Mi gave a temporary cold smile.
"You don’t quite fit my impression?"
It eased some awkwardness, but it was also true.
She found it hard to associate the harmless high school student in front of her with the cold killing god from before.
Lv Bai chuckled, speaking softly: "What was your impression of me? Appearing backlit, close-up of the lower half of my face. Narrating lines, quickly zooming out. Drawing the sword, screen shakes wildly elevating impending aura?"
Listening to this lengthy nonsense, Guo Mi’s expression stiffened, unsure how to react.
She instinctively asked: "What are you talking about?"
Lv Bai patiently explained: "Anime, it’s widely enjoyed by the public two-dimensionally initially referring to two-dimensional worlds, later used for the ACGN subculture. Unfortunately, Pikachu can’t use Courage Badge for evolution, leaving Taiichi Yagami to fight Kyo Kusanagi solo in the ring..."
"Alright, don’t keep strolling forward while talking."
Guo Mi took a deep breath from her cigarette, pulled a dagger from her sleeve, and placed it against Wu Ya’s neck: "This unexpected madness at least confirms one thing, you care about this little girl, right?"
