My 100th Rebirth a day before the Apocalypse-Chapter 975 - 973 The Difference Between The Two
Pill-making, on the other hand, left no room for error. Even a single lapse in focus could ruin the entire pill, as the recipe specifically emphasized controlling in both fire and spiritual energy.
While the procedure appeared simple, as if all she needed to do was wait for the pill to form inside the alchemy furnace, but the reality was much harder. Inside the furnace, she couldn’t see the ingredients melt or combine, meaning she had to rely entirely on her spiritual consciousness, carefully sensing the transformation as it happened.
Fortunately, she had the Spiritual Silver Flame. With its help, she could maintain precise control over the heat, allowing her to focus entirely on monitoring the delicate fusion of ingredients without worrying about mismanaging the fire. This would give her the precision and focus needed to succeed.
She considered herself lucky; this recipe only had two ingredients, so she only needed to focus on them. But she knew that in the future, as recipes became more complex with multiple ingredients, the challenge would grow exponentially.
It wouldn’t be enough to simply wait for the ingredients to melt and meld together. She would have to carefully monitor the timing, adding each ingredient at precisely the right moment while keeping track of the melting and fusion process. Timing would be crucial, not just for creating a successful pill, but also for improving its grade and overall quality.
Now that she understood the process, Kisha was eager to start making pills and experience it firsthand. But pill-making required an alchemy furnace, and her current tools, designed for potion-making, were useless for this purpose.
On top of that, she realized her potion-making equipment needed an upgrade as well; the ones she had were only suitable for beginner-level potions. In the future, as she collected more advanced recipes, she would encounter tougher materials and ingredients that would be harder to extract or process.
She would need industrial-grade equipment capable of handling these challenges, and now seemed like the perfect time to acquire it, especially since she still had her discount coupon.
"008, add an alchemy furnace to the shopping cart. Also, help me find the best one available on the system mall or Sales Channel. I want it top-tier, so I won’t need to replace it once I reach a higher level," Kisha instructed, her mind already racing ahead to her next steps.
"Noted, Host. I’ll search for everything and narrow it down. Once I’ve made a list, I’ll present the options so you can choose what suits you best," 008 replied promptly and immediately got to work.
"Alright..." Kisha murmured, taking a contemplative sip of her tea.
Duke, sitting quietly beside her, observed the subtle shifts in her expression, from heartache giving way to surprise, then excitement, and finally, focused determination. He couldn’t help but be amused; he never tired of seeing Kisha so lively, her emotions dancing across her face like an open book.
Seeing that Kisha seemed busy, Duke decided to give her some space so she could focus. "Wifey, I’m heading back to work with Hugo and the others on the Biogas Project. Soon, we’ll start adding animal waste to the compost bins to begin the fermentation process."
"I’ll also inform Engineer Steel to start connecting the pipes to the machine outside. After that, I’ll work with them to link the lines so we can get electricity flowing throughout the base," Duke explained, outlining not just the next steps, but his long-term plan, knowing that the Biogas Project was only the beginning, not the end, of their plans.
"Hmm... you’re right. It’s about time we focus on electricity. The extreme weather has been getting more unpredictable, and with the heat waves just around the corner, we’ll likely see more heat-stroke patients at the medical facility. Installing AC would definitely help," Kisha said, concern lacing her voice.
"I’ll have some people start gathering more AC units from nearby buildings," Duke replied. "Building new ones from scratch would take too much time and materials. It’s more practical to reuse what’s available, either from other structures or the mall." He added, noting that not every building or house in the area had AC units that included a heating system.
"Alright, let Tristan and Aston work together to count how many buildings don’t have AC units so we’ll know exactly how many we need," Kisha instructed. She nodded to herself, realizing she might have forgotten this step if Duke hadn’t reminded her.
After all, most buildings already had AC units, so as long as there was electricity, they could use them freely. Lately, she had been getting forgetful, weighed down by the many things she was juggling and keeping track of.
Once they agreed on the plan, Duke left to work with Hugo and his team. When the sun rose outside the territory space, he would need to go out and meet Engineer Steel to discuss the Biogas Project in detail, and the machine that would convert biogas into electricity and usable fuel for vehicles and other equipment.
Fortunately, Kisha had already given Engineer Steel a heads-up before entering the Territory Space. She still had a few things to discuss with him, but with Duke handling the next steps, she could let them work out the details.
Now that Duke was handling most of the work, Kisha saw the perfect opportunity to focus on pill making. Once she succeeded, she could add the pills to her store, a thought that fired her up instantly.
Wasting no time, she headed to her usual workspace in the open field. That way, if her concoctions failed or exploded, no structures would be harmed, and she could easily dodge or step back.
Since she was still waiting for 008 to purchase the Alchemy Furnace, she decided to start by making a batch of Stamina Boosters while simultaneously inscribing more Teleportation Scrolls.
This allowed her to practice the Teleportation Scrolls, the most difficult inscriptions she could make currently, while also training her focus and spiritual consciousness.
Strengthening her spiritual consciousness this way would directly improve her potion and pill making, helping her tackle more complex recipes in the future and avoid wasting precious ingredients, and increase her success rate.
She spent most of her time immersed in these repetitive tasks, and the results quickly showed. Her Alchemy proficiency advanced from Beginner to Intermediate, significantly improving her control and efficiency.
Her potion-making success rate rose noticeably, and since pill-making also fell under Alchemy, her pill-making success rate increased as well. The unexpected bonus of a 15% overall success-rate boost pleasantly surprised her, making her work far easier than she had anticipated. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
At this stage, low-level recipes now had a near 100% success rate, while slightly higher-tier recipes hovered around 80–90%. With the additional 15% bonus layered on top, her concoctions far surpassed those of ordinary alchemists. By any standard, she would already be considered a prodigy.
However, Kisha understood that this advantage wouldn’t remain effortless forever. Once her proficiency reached the Advanced tier, just before Mastery, success rates would naturally drop again, falling to around 60–70% due to the increased complexity of the recipes.
And although the Mastery level sounded prestigious, it actually marked the most difficult stage of all. Master-level recipes were notoriously demanding, often reducing success rates to 45–50%.
