"Tree Demons!" Vera became slightly cautious when seeing the approaching figures.

The reason it was only "slightly" was because the three of them had been roaming the sixth level for some time, and naturally knew that ever since the Tree Demons had gone into symbiosis with Puki, they would often come out of the Secret Forest but, like Puki, they would not attack actively.

However, this time their intention was clear as they walked towards the group, causing Vera to instinctively grip the knife handle tightly.

Unexpectedly, Sirean stepped forward to greet them, his emerald eyes full of wonder.

"There are Tree Demons here too? And..." He examined the wrinkled bark of the Tree Demons closely, "They are growing mushrooms on them, instead of the usual moss!"

One of the taller Tree Demons extended a gnarled branch, lightly entwining it around Sirean's wrist as if testing.

Vera's heart tightened, "Hey, is it okay?"

"It's fine, it's fine," Sirean closed his eyes, his long lashes trembling slightly as a very faint greenish aura seemed to ripple around him. After a moment, he opened his eyes and looked at the tense trio, "They are seeking help."

"Can Druids communicate with demons like that?" Fei Ling exclaimed in disbelief.

"It's a slight talent granted by our elf bloodline," Sirean explained, "By mutually opening our hearts, we can barely perceive simple emotional fluctuations."

After the Tree Demons completed the "contact," they slowly turned around, and Sirean followed without hesitation, "Want to come and have a look?"

"Could it be a trap?" Vera murmured, but her feet had already followed up, as she couldn't just let Sirean go alone.

Sirean said, "I didn't sense any malice, but it's never wrong to be cautious. Stay alert on the way!"

Led by the Tree Demons, they passed through the desolate lands eroded by curses, arriving at the surviving side of the sixth level.

With the Tree Demons clearing the way, they traversed a shadowy, densely-vegetated path, reaching the destination.

Standing at the entrance of the Secret Forest, Vera examined the surrounding tree roots and the mycelium attached to them, clicking her tongue, "I've heard there's a Tree Demon-inhabited Secret Forest deep in the sixth level, didn't expect the entrance to be hidden so well!"

Upon entering the Secret Forest, they hadn't gone far when the Tree Demons stopped and pointed forward with their branches; there was no need for further communication, everyone immediately understood the urgency—they were near several Demon Woods on the brink of death.

Sirean furrowed his brows slightly, his gaze sweeping over the roots covered in wet soil and the freshly churned earth around, recalling the scorched earth outside, he roughly guessed the situation.

Sirean murmured softly, "The method of relocation was too rough..."

He said no more, gently placing his hands onto the sickly Demon Wood trunk, chanting a spell, as a green light emanated from his palms and slowly infused into the Demon Wood's veins.

Where the light touched, the dull color on the bark seemed washed away by water, revealing the life force hidden within.

Seeing it was effective, Sirean smiled.

However, Vera beside him wore an odd expression. Her gaze shifted from the rejuvenated Demon Wood, instinctively scanning other Demon Woods in the Secret Forest, then pierced through the shadows of the trees, seeing the vast, desolate wasteland outside.

Is there even more to be done now?

-----------------

All that happened on the sixth level was naturally perceived by a certain Green Mushroom.

Lin Jun's biggest realization was: Natural Magic is truly a treasure!

Ripening, healing, judging by the effect, it seems especially compatible with the mushroom system, feeling more suitable for her than other magic Attributes!

However, she hadn't come across anyone amongst humans with Natural Magic Skills, wondering if it might be exclusive to elves, she planned to ask Edin about it later.

To use Natural Magic, one first needs to dissect the Skills, and secondly, learn the corresponding spells.

But now it seems, the Natural Magic spells used by this elf all seem to involve chanting!

Using Magic Puki's voice...?

Moreover, the chanting is in completely unintelligible Elf Language, does she have to start learning a new language again?

She noted this matter on the "to-do list" in her consciousness, besides Natural Magic, Abyss Magic was also something Lin Jun wanted to explore.

Unfortunately, she hadn't encountered any users since a fleeting glimpse at the port, appearing to be a very obscure form of magic.

Regarding magic research, Lin Jun hadn't stopped; those more than a dozen Magic Books had already been thoroughly perused by her, the spells recorded therein almost entirely learned hastily.

They were all Low Tier spells, not too difficult, but due to her diverse learning, aside from the Mud Swamp Technique she most adeptly used to meet the minimum Acceleration Spell casting speed of an Adventurer Mage, the rest of the spells Lin Jun mostly just dabbled in, remaining at the level of being able to "cast."

However, Lin Jun was different from a Mage; if a Mage casts spells slowly, they can be face-checked and defeated, Lin Jun could at most swap out for another Magic Puki to use.

...

As days passed in the blink of an eye, Vera and the others now had to make two runs every day.

Each day, they first helped nurse the Demon Woods, then rushed to the wastelands ravaged by curses, bit by bit awakening the dormant vitality of the earth. Yet all these tasks could only be completed by the elf Sirean alone.

Fei Yin's Acceleration Spell could still be useful for traveling, but Vera and Fei Ling were completely out of their depth, essentially becoming idlers.

The two watched the busy elf, feeling quite uncomfortable. As a result, they took on the "logistics" tasks, hunting firm-meat Tusked Boars or gathering nectar secreted by certain plant-type demons in the still-preserved regions of the sixth level to add to everyone's meals.
