Mrs. and Mr. Smith-Chapter 2425 - 2423: The Power of the King’s Path
Chapter 2425: Chapter 2423: The Power of the King’s Path
"Ethan Smith, now that you have the Immortal Emperor Corpse as your bodyguard, you could probably strut around the Holy Region without fear. It’s unbelievable how you managed to do that—it’s outrageous!"
Jackson Harris was incredulous.
The Corpse of the Yao Family’s Immortal Emperor was the Green family’s ancestral relic.
Which Immortal Emperor could allow himself to be eternally sealed within his corpse, unable to reincarnate, just to protect his clan?
This ’celestial artifact’ of the Yao clan was extremely famous, having killed countless cultivators who infringed upon the Yao clan. Its renown was even comparable to that of the Divine Destiny Pagoda.
Yet it’s unknown by what means Ethan Smith was able to revive a trace of its divine soul.
"The ancestors of the Yao family left behind their corpse and sealed their remaining soul within it, solely to protect the Yao clan. But over the millennia, many cultivators of the Yao family focused on the letter, not the spirit, of their duty and treated it like a magical artifact, spending a great deal of time on soul communication,"
Daphne Green said softly, the sea of the Heavenly Dao gently rippling and emitting a faint sound, as the Heavenly Dao Qi slowly condensed in her hands, revealing a stripe of golden Wang Dao Aura.
For a moment, many wandering souls in the Void were drawn to this sliver of Wang Dao Aura, willingly becoming part of its force.
"The Green family’s bloodline and the Laws perceived from the immortal scripture seem to be the Wang Dao power within the divine soul. Such power, when used to communicate with the buried corpse of the Green family’s Immortal Sage, is indeed overkill. The force you just used even forced back the Green family’s Immortal Emperor beyond your rank, which must be the reason you earned the Immortal Emperor Corpse’s recognition."
Jackson Harris looked at the power of the law with awe, and on closer observation, the profound mysteries within became even more apparent.
Daphne Green truly deserved to be Earth’s number one genius of that year; she even took a different path of spiritual cultivation from the Green family.
And being recognized by the Green family’s Immortal Emperor indicates that Daphne Green’s approach to cultivation has received approval from the lingering consciousness of that Immortal Emperor’s soul.
The three chatted about some past events, and soon after, Daphne Green and Jackson Harris said their farewells.
"Ethan Smith, Daphne Green. Let’s exchange Communication Jade Slips to keep in touch. According to information from the Harris family, I’m afraid the future may not be peaceful."
Jackson Harris took out two Jade Slips and handed them to both.
He indeed had some information at hand, but due to family secrets, he couldn’t clearly elaborate to Ethan Smith and Daphne Green, only giving them a vague warning.
"Alright, we’ll meet again, dear brothers."
Daphne Green didn’t dawdle, promptly leaving together with Jackson Harris.
Suddenly, atop Ethereal Peak, a huge space fluctuation emerged, seemingly the aura of a Great Array activating.
"Elder Brother Ethan Smith, Dean Garner and Ella Jenkins request your presence at Ethereal Peak now."
A junior brother from Ethereal Peak had someone relay the message at the entrance.
"Okay, I’ll be right there."
Ethan Smith nodded. It seemed someone from the Thunder Courtyard, which was returning from a retreat, had returned. He was curious about the level of individual coming back; Thunder Courtyard is on par with the Monohorse Hall, wondering what the returning ancestors stationed outside might be like.
Ethan Smith quickly made his way to Ethereal Peak, where many people were already waiting.
Upon careful inspection, this included the peak masters of the Five Peaks and basically all the high-ranking officials had shown up.
Salena Carpenter and Frederick Cohen had also arrived early in the morning to join in the excitement.
"Ethan Smith, you’ve come."
Dean Garner said with a smile, seemingly in a very good mood.
The return of the ancestors of Thunder Courtyard allowed him a sigh of relief.
The teleport array emanated a tremendous Spatial Qi, as if it connected to an extremely distant location within the Array.
At this moment, two sets of coordinates fused into a space channel, transporting people from the other side.
"Dean Garner, does this mean that many seniors of Thunder Courtyard are making their return?"
Ethan Smith could only feel the immense aura emitted from the teleport array, guessing that the arrivals were very powerful.
"Yes, the plane suppression by Different Races in Purgatory has nearly halved recently, powerful alien species lurk in Purgatory hunting Hominini at any given moment. In this half-year period, the Hominini have suffered heavy losses, and now only a few safe strongholds remain. The Holy Region is now considering issuing a notice to bring back the powerful Hominini from Purgatory, to use the Holy Region as the final stronghold for defense."
Dean Garner said with furrowed brows, indicating that this information was quite sensitive.
The Hominini had only witnessed such a situation once in the last ten Heavenly Dao Years, and it seemed that the situation was more troublesome than anyone had imagined.
The aura of the teleport array continued to operate for a very long time, lasting nearly three hours.
Nearly twenty people suddenly appeared in the midst of the teleport array, their bodies radiating sky-high blood qi— an aura only cultivated from long-term life-and-death battles.
"Welcome back, great uncles!"
As those figures appeared in an instant, everyone from Thunder Courtyard bowed in sync.
A row of people, silent in demeanor, slowly walked out, led by the three in front.
These three were the oldest in seniority among those from Thunder Courtyard, with the rest waiting respectfully behind them.
In the center was an elder with white hair and long eyebrows, regal in appearance, his face lined with wrinkles like dried bark, as if telling of his ancient seniority. This person was the Supreme Elder of Thunder Courtyard, named Lei Qingye.
To his right was a man who looked considerably younger than him; with a face as stern as an eagle, filled with the decisiveness of a Dark Vulture, this person was only slightly younger in seniority than Lei Qingye, named Lei Huan.
To his left was a middle-aged woman with a kind face, her long hair coiled up like that of a Taoist priest into a simple, efficient bun. This woman was also an ancestor from Flower Peak, named Hua Qianjie.
Next to her stood a youth with a defiant expression, seemingly close to Ethan Smith’s age.
Dean Garner had introduced them to Salena Carpenter, and Salena promptly relayed the information about these foremost individuals to Ethan Smith.
"Xin Lei, is this the current strongest combat power of Thunder Courtyard? The Golden Age has been open for nearly a year, and yet only you and Belle have reached the Second Level of Soul Sculpture. If given enough time to cultivate, perhaps the Third or Fourth Levels could have been achieved, right?"
Lei Qingye frowned deeply, apparently very dissatisfied with Thunder Courtyard’s current combat strength.
"Great Uncle Qingye, the Golden Age has arrived for too short a time, reaching this realm is already the limit for me and Belle. Moreover, in the Holy Region today, the Second Level of Soul Sculpture is the peak for cultivators crossing tribulation."
Dean Garner replied with a wry smile. His and Ella Jenkins’s talents seemed like those of children before Qingye.
However, he indeed had the right to speak thusly; two Heavenly Dao Years ago, when Lei Qingye emerged, he broke through to the peak of the True Saint Realm in less than a century.
After the arrival of the Golden Age, in one day he broke through, in one month he entered the power of Soul Sculpture, and in one year he had reached the Fourth Level Condensed Throne. His current cultivation level was unknown.
This kind of talent truly made even Dean Garner look up in admiration.
