Mr. Xiao’s Unconditional Love-Chapter 47: Amazing Speed
Chapter 47: Amazing Speed
Within seconds, she went from highly elated to pretty much desperate. This was going to be bad.
Ye Qiao was hopelessly lost, and she could not climb the walls in the alley as they were too high for her. She only had another five seconds to escape before the gangsters cornered her. As danger threatened, she remained highly alert of her situation.
“Run! Run as fast as you can!” They were two meters away from her and closing in.
“Aren’t you a fast runner? Why did you stop there? Hahaha!” The gangsters taunted her.
“Can’t you see? It’s a dead end. Where should I run? I dare you to run another round in the opposite direction. Well, I bet that you don’t have the balls. How could you let a girl outrun all five of you again? Does your boss know how useless you are? What scum!” By means of criticism, she tried to prod them into action. It was a psychological game.
These gangsters, in common parlance, were male chauvinists. Women were considered to be beneath men to them, so they always wanted to show off their dominance in all situations. It was among some of the core principles that the gangsters adhered to.
“Hey! How dare you provoke us!” A tall and skinny man stared at her with total contempt as he spat on the ground.
“I’m only telling the truth! I wonder what’s going to happen to all five of you once your boss finds out that you simply let a girl outrun you,” Ye Qiao confidently uttered with her arms crossed. 𝗳𝗿𝐞ℯ𝙬𝗲𝗯n𝗼νel.𝒄𝑜𝘮
“Says who? Brothers, make way. Let her run. She can’t outrun us, this time!” She managed to goad one of the men into another race. He went ahead and cleared the course for her.
She chuckled at the dramatic turn of events, though she was still a little worried. What if they changed their mind and beat her up instead while she made her way through?
“Run as fast as you can! But be prepared to suffer once we catch you!” The man challenged her.
Pleased, Ye Qiao was all ready to make a dash. 𝑓𝚛𝚎ℯ𝘸𝙚𝘣𝚗𝘰νeƖ.c𝒐𝐦
The gangsters, confident in their strength, thought that the girl was merely lucky earlier.
While they were still indulging in their self-conceit, she began running without any warning. “Guys, you’d better move your feet!” Her voice came as a sharp reminder.
That was an embarrassing turn of events for them. Judging from her speed, Ye Qiao had a feeling that her feet must have been equipped with an invisible pair of heavenly fire wheels.
She sprinted towards the main road, leaving the gangsters far, far behind. But suddenly, some college girls began crying out loud from afar.
“That’s so scary! People are fighting!”
Ye Qiao ran towards the crowd in haste. A dozen gangsters encircled Qiao Tian and Ning Jing. She caught sight of a familiar face among the mob too. It was Xiao Dong!
Although Xiao Dong had great skill and flair, it was challenging for him to fight so many people at once.
“Qiao Tian, watch out!” Both Ye Qiao and Ning Jing cried out in unison as soon as they were alerted by the incoming attack.
Promptly, Qiao Tian pushed Ning Jing to the side before raising his leg to give the gangster a hard kick. He managed to shove one away, but another three came charging at him. That was when Ye Qiao finally realized how dangerous it was for them. She pulled Ning Jing closer and hid in the corner.
“Qiao Tian, behind you!” There was an expression of anxious concern on Ye Qiao’s face the moment Qiao Tian was wounded. Luckily, Xiao Dong stepped up to help.
Soon, three malicious-looking gangsters turned to attack the two unprotected girls in the corner. Stupefied, Ning Jing became paralyzed with fear.
Ning Jing had her arms tightly squeezed around Ye Qiao as they were both helplessly stuck. Desperately, Ye Qiao turned her back to the gangsters. At the very least, she needed to protect her pretty face.
“Dang!” It was the sound of a knife falling.
“Snap!” One of the gangsters crashed to the ground in agony after his arm broke with a crack.
Their hero had arrived!
All Ye Qiao could see was the tall outline of a man that appeared dark even against the light. With a cap on his head, the man was dressed entirely in black.
