Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 87: Master Shane, You’d Better Take It Easy
At night, Shane Warner couldn’t avoid Audrey Sutton’s restless sleeping posture.
Early in the morning, Shane Warner had a look of insufficient sleep.
On the way to the meeting location, he closed his eyes in the car for a quick nap.
Faye Xavier couldn’t help but tease, "I heard from Brother Phoebe that your wife came over yesterday? Master Shane, did your brief reunion feel like a honeymoon, and you pulled an all-nighter? You’ve been single for decades storing up energy, your wife’s tiny body can hardly handle it, take it easy."
Shane Warner cast a cold glance, giving Faye Xavier a sidelong look, "You talk a lot, perhaps you should consider sales."
Faye Xavier quickly waved his hands, "No, no, I’m best suited beside you, Master Shane, to ease your worries and lend a hand. You continue resting, I’ll wake you when we arrive!"
There were ten minutes to go until ten in the morning.
The girl lying on the big bed slowly opened her eyes.
When she went to sleep last night, she occupied only a small corner, and now her body sprawled like an "X" across the entire bed.
Turning to see the crumpled blanket in the corner, she confirmed he had already gotten up.
Reaching out to feel around in the blanket, she suddenly sat up beside the bed, searching, and grabbed the rabbit that had fallen onto the floor, holding it in her arm, before picking up her phone to check the time.
Confirming Shane Warner had already left, she didn’t hurry to get up, changed her position on the bed and stared at the ceiling in a daze.
"Knock, knock, knock—"
Audrey Sutton glanced at the sound at the door and asked, "Who is it?"
"It’s me, little vinegar packet."
Upon hearing this unique nickname and recognizable smoky voice, Audrey Sutton confirmed the person outside the door was Shane Warner’s distant cousin, Phoebe King.
She promptly climbed out of bed, shuffled to the door in slippers, cracked it open slightly and peeked at Phoebe King, asking, "What’s up?"
Phoebe King smiled and said, "Shane asked me to wake you up, freshen up so we can go out and meet him for lunch."
Audrey Sutton saw Phoebe King was already dressed, shoes on, makeup done, seemingly waiting for her to head out together, but she hadn’t prepared anything yet, "Umm... I just woke up, come in and sit for a while."
Phoebe King nodded, stepping in while saying, "No rush, take your time, Shane knows you well, that’s why he asked me to wake you at ten, you can leisurely get ready and head out by eleven."
Audrey Sutton nodded, not daring to delay, quickly tidying the bed and heading to the bathroom with clothes to wash up and change.
When she came out, she saw Phoebe King with her legs crossed on the phone, yelling at someone over the line, "A bunch of useless eaters! Can’t even handle this minor issue and still call me, why the hell do I keep you around? If you can’t sort it out, then you’re all fired!"
Although Audrey Sutton knew she wasn’t the target of the curses, Phoebe King’s tone and demeanor still made her feel apprehensive.
She always thought daughters of affluent families were all ladylike, cultured, and graceful; she hadn’t expected someone as bold and hearty as Phoebe King.
She even believed Shane Warner preferred girls with this kind of vibe.
After hanging up the phone, Phoebe King instantly switched her demeanor, smiling warmly at Audrey Sutton, "Sister-in-law, your dress is really pretty."
Audrey Sutton smiled bashfully, recalling yesterday’s event, feeling awkward facing Phoebe King.
As she thought about this, Phoebe King said, "About yesterday, I still owe you an apology..."
Audrey Sutton hurriedly interrupted, laughing awkwardly, "I should be the one apologizing, it was my misunderstanding."
"My brother Shane is a very upright person, you can completely trust him. Before marrying you, he never fooled around, and he definitely wouldn’t do anything unfaithful now he’s married to you."
Audrey Sutton smiled awkwardly, "Yeah... yesterday I was too impulsive."
Phoebe King: "That wasn’t impulsive; if I saw my man with another woman, I’d probably rush over and beat them both."
Audrey Sutton: "..."
She wished she could, but she didn’t have that build, besides, she didn’t dare confront Shane Warner openly about it.
Once that fragile window was shattered, Shane Warner might completely throw their relationship away.
When they got to the restaurant, it was a French bistro.
When Audrey Sutton and Phoebe King arrived, Shane Warner and Faye Xavier were already waiting.
There were also two other guys who looked like twins; despite their identical faces, their hairstyles and fashion sense differed greatly.
They didn’t seem like Shane Warner’s clients, more like friends.
As Audrey Sutton pondered, Phoebe King’s next move verified her assumption.
"Luc and Mor?! What are you doing here?!"
During the meal, Shane Warner briefly introduced that Luc and Mor were his childhood friends and junior high classmates.
Luc’s real name is Morgan Quinn; Mor’s real name is Lucian Quinn.
With dyed blond hair, earrings, and casual clothing, Morgan Quinn had a laid-back demeanor; the one with slicked-back hair, in a suit, looking more composed was his brother Lucian Quinn.
From the conversations during the meal, Audrey Sutton understood Shane Warner brought the brothers to assist him.
Morgan Quinn, whose personality matched with Faye Xavier, was assigned to help manage Starfield with Julian Bishop.
Shane Warner kept the more reliable Lucian Quinn by his side to handle affairs for The Warner.
Phoebe King was simply there for fun.
The table was filled with Shane Warner’s good friends, but he didn’t neglect Audrey Sutton despite dining with them.
Phoebe King, Faye Xavier, and Morgan Quinn played drinking games.
Lucian Quinn was forced to help pour drinks.
Shane Warner didn’t participate in their games, only lowering his head to ask Audrey Sutton, "August is almost over, hasn’t your school gone on break yet?"
"There’s just one more lecture the day after tomorrow, then we break."
"Where do you want to go?"
Audrey Sutton put down the bones of the rib she had cleaned, wiped her mouth with a napkin, smiling as she asked him, "Are you going to accompany me on a trip?"
Shane Warner raised an eyebrow, not answering but rather asking back, "Do you want me to accompany you on a trip?"
"You’re so busy, where can we even go?"
Shane Warner pointed his chin towards the Quinn brothers and said, "What do you think I called them here for?"
Audrey Sutton thought, could it be he called his friends to help so he could have time for her?
Probably not, he must be lazy and doesn’t want to be so worn out, that’s why he got help.
However, since he took over The Warner, he’s indeed been overwhelmed, having assistance would lighten his load a bit.
"I probably need to go back home to visit my grandpa." Audrey Sutton said, glancing at Shane Warner, not directly asking if he would come along, but her eager eyes clearly hoped he would join her.
