Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 822: She Doesn’t Need to Know
Norman Sutton looked at Barry Barrett and figured he already knew about his and Lana Holloway’s situation from Audrey Sutton, which is why he was deliberately not telling him.
However, while he had no tactics for others, he had ways of dealing with Barry Barrett.
"I’ll help you rank up next season."
Upon hearing this from Norman Sutton, Barry Barrett’s eyes instantly lit up: "Really?"
Norman Sutton nodded and said, "First, go to the next room and check how she is doing now."
Barry Barrett: "I just came from there; Lana took some cold medicine and is sleeping now."
Norman Sutton asked again: "Is she seriously ill?"
Barry Barrett: "It looks like a regular cold; she might feel better after a nap."
Seeing Norman Sutton still worried, Barry Barrett slapped Norman on the shoulder and said: "Hey, don’t worry, I’ll make sure to take good care of her. Next season, I’m counting on you, great Norman."
Norman Sutton: "You should go now and accompany her, ask her if she’s thirsty, hungry, or anything."
Barry Barrett: "She’s sleeping right now."
Norman Sutton: "Do you still want to rank up? Go take care of her, if she wants anything to eat, give her a hand; I’ll cover the money."
Barry Barrett stretched and yawned, then looked down at his feet searching for his slippers, saying: "Alright, alright, I’ll go keep an eye on her now."
Norman Sutton stood up with Barry Barrett and followed him to the next room door. Barry Barrett pulled out the room card from his pocket, turning to him in confusion and asking: "What? You want to come in?"
Norman Sutton seemed to consider it but hesitated, asking: "...Is she in a bad mood?"
Barry Barrett heard this, feeling confused, said: "Why would she be? She’s just uncomfortable and sleeping."
Norman Sutton didn’t know how to explain to Barry Barrett, just frowned and said: "Open the door."
Barry Barrett mumbled something and used the room card to open the door.
She first pushed a crack open and slipped inside, then whispered to Norman Sutton: "Do you want to come in?"
Norman Sutton didn’t respond, but leaned in to look inside and saw Lana Holloway lying on her side with her back to him, seemingly in a deep sleep. He paused, stepped back, and took a deep breath saying: "Forget it, don’t wake her, check if she’s feeling better in the morning."
Barry Barrett couldn’t help but say to him: "If you care about her, just say it plainly; she wouldn’t know with you acting like a spy."
Norman Sutton replied irritably: "She doesn’t need to know. When you sleep, be quiet, don’t wake her up!"
Barry Barrett rolled her eyes helplessly, responding perfunctorily: "Yes, yes, my little master."
At around three in the morning, the corridor outside was silent, with the hallway lights still shining. A girl in pajamas hurriedly came out of a room door and knocked on the one diagonally opposite.
Norman Sutton, half-asleep, was woken by the knocking, and opened the door in annoyance, his hair a mess. Seeing Barry Barrett outside, he didn’t look pleased and his tone wasn’t particularly good, asking her: "What?"
Barry Barrett said anxiously: "Come and check, Lana seems to have a fever, should we take her to the hospital?"
Upon hearing it was about Lana Holloway, Norman Sutton immediately woke up and quickly followed Barry Barrett into the room.
He saw Lana Holloway, face flushed red, hugging the quilt on the bed, looking like she was asleep but frowning as if very uncomfortable.
Barry Barrett said beside him: "I got woken by her fever, should we hurry to the hospital?"
Norman Sutton stood up as he walked to the door saying: "Find her a coat; I’ll go get the car keys from the driver."
In less than two minutes, as Barry Barrett was putting the coat on Lana Holloway, Norman Sutton rushed back with the car keys.
Helping Lana Holloway with her coat, he quickly picked her up and hurriedly walked to the elevator. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Barry Barrett was afraid Norman Sutton couldn’t handle it alone and hurriedly followed him to the parking lot.
After placing Lana Holloway in the car, Norman Sutton said: "The hospital is nearby, I’ll take her; you should go back and rest."
Barry Barrett: "Can you handle it alone?"
Norman Sutton: "You’re not a doctor; following won’t help."
Saying that, Norman Sutton closed the car door, moved to the driver’s seat, and soon drove the car away.
Barry Barrett shivered in the cold at the parking lot, looking at the dim and empty place made her uneasy so she quickly returned to the elevator and went back upstairs.
The next day.
In the hospital ward, the sky outside the window was just beginning to brighten. Lana Holloway slowly opened her eyes, looking at the drip bottle hanging on the rack, the medicine fluid dripping rhythmically through the transparent infusion tube.
She vaguely remembered being sick, feeling so uncomfortable that her consciousness was blurry; she didn’t know how she got to the hospital, and still felt weak now.
She slowly turned her head and suddenly saw a dark mass beside the bed.
At first, she was startled, then realized someone was lying there next to her bed.
It truly was a pleasant surprise.
Did the young master of The Suttons stay here to care for her all night?
Lana Holloway opened her dry lips, paused, and closed them again, keeping quiet and looking at Norman Sutton sleeping beside her bed.
He was still wearing his dark blue silk pajamas, his hair messy, sleeping in a way that didn’t seem as annoying as usual.
In her daze, she saw his head move slightly, and instinctively she quickly closed her eyes, pretending not to be awake.
Norman Sutton sat up, covering his mouth as he yawned, looking at the half-empty drip bottle, then at Lana Holloway still seemingly asleep, he reached out to gently feel her forehead.
Confirming the fever had subsided, he finally relaxed.
Just as he was retracting his hand, he suddenly noticed Lana Holloway’s eyelashes flutter a bit.
Norman Sutton first froze, thinking he had hallucinated from lack of sleep, when he noticed her eyelids moved.
Confirming Lana Holloway was pretending to be asleep, Norman Sutton stood by the bed, intentionally grabbing her hand lying outside the quilt.
Feeling her hand shrink back, yet she still didn’t open her eyes.
Norman Sutton smiled mischievously, gently placing her hand back under the covers, then reached out to brush away the loose strands from her temples.
Lana Holloway felt goosebumps from his indistinct touch, but she kept her teeth clenched, pretending to be asleep, unwilling to open her eyes to face the awkward situation of being alone with him in the ward.
Unexpectedly, as soon as Norman Sutton moved his hand away, Lana Holloway noticed a dark shadow cover over her, feeling the heavy breaths on her face...
