Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 759: Turmoil at the Cinema
Listening to Hannah Sue’s string of questions, Evan Sutton couldn’t help but smile and answered softly, "I didn’t go."
This answer surprised Hannah Sue for a moment, but then she felt relieved.
She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately held back and simply asked, "Why didn’t you go?"
Evan Sutton: "Just focus on your studies, why bother with my affairs?"
Hannah Sue: "Can’t I just ask?"
Evan Sutton: "If it’s not something you should be concerned about, don’t ask. Put your energy into doing more practice exercises."
Hannah Sue pouted, turned to look out the car window, muttering softly, "You’re the one talking! If it weren’t for you, I would have finished my winter break homework long ago."
Evan Sutton: "Having a free tutor and you’re still complaining?"
Hannah Sue snorted, "That makes some sense. To be honest, your explanations are easier to understand than my teacher’s."
Evan Sutton: "I work every day and still spend time checking your homework, and I don’t complain."
Hannah Sue: "Hehe, I promise I won’t let your efforts go to waste! Just wait for my acceptance letter!"
Evan Sutton smiled with satisfaction, it’s good that Hannah Sue has this drive and confidence.
Moreover, Hannah Sue now, compared to her in the past, has changed quite a lot.
She’s inherently not bad; at her age, it’s easy to be influenced by her environment. Without someone to guide her, she might gradually become self-destructive due to rejection from those around her.
Recently, she’s been quite obedient. At least she completes the practice exercises Evan gives her, and her accuracy is quite high.
Just maintain this attitude for the remaining half semester.
At the cinema, Hannah Sue went to buy cola and popcorn, while Evan Sutton went to the ticket machine to collect the tickets.
"Gracie, what movie are we watching?"
"Nothing really interesting; just pick something random to pass the time."
"You pick one, and I’ll buy the tickets."
"You just buy whatever; I’m going outside to make a call."
Grace Sue ignored the man beside her, walked towards the cinema’s entrance with her cellphone.
About to walk out, she saw Hannah Sue at the counter buying snacks.
She was surprised to see Hannah here and stood still to look closely for a few seconds, confirming she wasn’t mistaken. Only then did she mockingly smile, approaching Hannah Sue from behind: "Oh, isn’t this the good little sister attending extracurricular groups out of town? Why are you buying popcorn alone?"
Hannah Sue didn’t expect to run into Grace here, frowned, and took the cola and popcorn handed by a staff member. She replied coolly to Grace, "Why do you care?"
Grace looked at the two cups of cola in Hannah’s hands and glanced around before scoffing and saying, "You actually have friends? Who did you come with?"
Hannah Sue didn’t want to bother with Grace, intending to walk away, but Grace stepped forward blocking Hannah’s path: "Is it a boyfriend? Lie about studying out of town; are you doing something disgraceful with some guy outside? Don’t smear the Sue family name!"
At this moment, the man who came with Grace to the theater walked up, saying to Grace, "Gracie, I learned that the next tickets are only for three o’clock, we have to wait about an hour—do you still want to watch?"
Grace, who was somewhat impatient with the man earlier, now affectionately held his hand and leaned beside him, smiling, "Let me introduce, this is my sister."
Then, she said to Hannah Sue, "This is my new boyfriend, the heir of Linton Technologies."
It looked like an introduction, but was actually blatant showing off.
Before Hannah could say anything, Grace deliberately asked, "Sis, where’s your boyfriend? Why not introduce him to us? Nothing shady, right?"
Evan Sutton, unfamiliar with the ticket machine, fiddled for a while before smoothly collecting the tickets.
Turning to find Hannah, he saw her standing with a couple chatting.
Not seeing the couple’s faces who were back-to him, he thought perhaps Hannah had met someone she knew.
He originally intended to wait for them to finish talking before approaching but suddenly saw the woman opposite Hannah reach out and push Hannah.
Hannah staggered but steadied her footing.
This young girl wasn’t a pushover; she immediately placed the cola and popcorn back on the counter and forcefully pushed back.
Grace, wearing high heels, twisted her ankle, stabilized by the man beside her, she gazed at Hannah fiercely, "You dare push me?!"
Hannah replied defiantly, "I told you long ago not to mess with me!"
Recognizing it as Grace and seeing the situation not right, Evan quickly walked over to Hannah’s side.
The man beside Grace lacked gentlemanly demeanor, solely focused on siding with Grace, pointing directly at Hannah: "She’s your elder sister and said a few things, so what? You retort and even resort to violence now?! How outrageous!"
Hannah arrogantly replied, "I don’t know what Linton heir you are; your status means nothing to me! Don’t you boss me around here!"
Grace was incredibly pissed, "Been out wandering for a while and your guts got bigger, huh? You definitely need a beating!"
Saying this, Grace raised her hand aiming to slap Hannah’s face, but Hannah blocked Grace’s hand and pushed her forcefully.
The man hurriedly supported Grace, acting as if Hannah had bullied them, shouting at Hannah, "Don’t push people too far!"
The commotion attracted the attention of passersby, Grace seemed to relish the audience’s attention and began cursing at Hannah: "Just like your short-lived mom, shameless! You’re just a bastard, and you dare defy me?"
"Oh, you’re the bastard Gracie often talks about? If I were you, I’d hang myself long ago than come embarrass myself here!"
As the crowd of onlookers debated noisily, a soft voice emerged from the crowd: "The heir of Linton truly wields power, manipulating life and death with mere words."
Grace and the man both turned toward the voice’s owner. Grace initially thought the person looked familiar, while the man immediately recognized the person’s identity, grinning obsequiously in greeting, "It’s Fifth Master Sutton?! Didn’t expect to meet you here! Truly an honor for Linton!"
