Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 753: How Nice It Would Be to Have More Daughters for Me to Marry Into the Family
Hearing Norman Sutton’s words, Audrey Sutton and Phoebe King exchanged a smile, probably both sensing the jealousy in the air.
Meanwhile, Lana Holloway blushed even more and didn’t dare to turn her head to look at Lance Quincy sitting beside her.
Lance Quincy calmly responded to Norman Sutton, "Thanks, sixth brother, for being so concerned about our affairs."
Norman Sutton gritted his teeth and said, "Who the hell is your sixth brother?!"
Samuel Sutton and Hazel Yates gave Norman Sutton a simultaneous glare. Norman Sutton pursed his lips, deliberately reached over to Lance Quincy’s plate to take a piece of fish, mumbling something under his breath.
Audrey Sutton, sitting next to Norman Sutton, picked up some shredded potatoes in front of her, took a bite, and said seriously, "Isn’t there too much vinegar in these shredded potatoes today? Why is there such a strong vinegar taste?"
Phoebe King chimed in, "I was just wondering why there was such a smell of vinegar earlier, I thought someone’s vinegar jar had spilled, turns out it’s these shredded potatoes."
Norman Sutton gave the two of them a fierce glare, then turned to watch as Lance Quincy picked food for Lana Holloway’s bowl, their intimate and natural demeanor looked just like a couple married for many years.
Audrey Sutton filled a bowl with soup, got up, and walked out of the room, seeing Shane Warner in the quiet hallway coaxing Anna to sleep. Audrey Sutton walked over quietly and asked in a low voice, "Asleep yet?"
Shane Warner softly replied, "Just closed her eyes."
Audrey Sutton scooped up some soup with a spoon and offered it to Shane Warner with a smile, "Come on, you’ve had a hard day today."
Shane Warner glanced at her with feigned annoyance, turned his head away from the spoon, and said, "Eat your own."
Audrey Sutton: "How can I be at ease eating alone if you’re hungry?"
Shane Warner: "Stop it."
Audrey Sutton insistent, pushed the spoon toward Shane Warner’s mouth as if coaxing a child, "Come on, open your mouth, let me feed you." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Shane Warner glared at her briefly, lowered his head slightly, and drank the soup from the spoon, saying, "Go inside and eat, don’t wake this little guy."
Audrey Sutton stood on tiptoe to check on Anna, who was sleeping obediently in Shane Warner’s arms, and whispered, "I’ve had enough to eat, I’ll hold him, you go and eat."
Shane Warner knew Audrey Sutton’s limited strength, and Anna wasn’t as light as when she was just born; even he felt his arm getting sore after holding her for too long, let alone the slender-armed Audrey Sutton. So he said, "Faye Xavier should be done eating soon, let him hold her later."
"Brother Xavier doesn’t owe you anything, he’s been helping with the child all day, let him eat well," Audrey Sutton finished the soup in her bowl, handed the empty bowl to Shane Warner, "You take the bowl inside, I’ll carry him down to the living room, it’s too stuffy up here."
Shane Warner asked her, "Are you full?"
Audrey Sutton nodded, and as Shane Warner freed a hand to take the empty bowl, Audrey Sutton also reached out carefully to hold Anna.
Just fallen asleep, Anna lazily opened her eyes for a moment, Audrey Sutton quickly shook herself slightly, and Anna immediately slowly closed her eyes again.
Audrey Sutton muttered, "Kids have it good, cry when they’re hungry, sleep when they’re tired."
Shane Warner teased, "You could do the same."
Audrey Sutton gave him a scolding look, "Alright, go eat your food."
Shane Warner: "Just wait in the living room, don’t go too far, and don’t talk to strangers."
Audrey Sutton, exasperated, perfunctorily replied, "Got it."
Shane Warner entered the room, went over to Faye Xavier, and said to him, who was drinking, "Have you finished eating? If so, go downstairs and help your sister-in-law with the child."
Faye Xavier cheerfully responded, "Right away, right away, just a couple more drinks."
Shane Warner sat down beside Faye Xavier, picked up his bowl and chopsticks, and said to him, "Later, go down and settle the bill."
Faye Xavier’s hand stopped mid-pour, looking at the table full of food and drink, he suddenly lost his appetite, "I have to pay? Master Shane, you’ve deducted all my year-end bonuses, I’m really broke!"
Shane Warner rolled his eyes at him, "Bring the receipt for reimbursement."
Faye Xavier instantly breathed a sigh of relief, "You should have made that clear first, almost scared me to death."
Hazel Yates called out, "Is there any more wine? I’ll ask someone to bring up two more bottles."
Morgan Quinn pointed to the wine bottle next to him and said, "No need, Auntie, there’s still half a bottle here," then he looked at Lucian Quinn and Faye Xavier, and continued, "It’s almost just the two of them drinking."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Morgan Quinn nodded quickly agreeing with Lucian Quinn, "Enough, enough, can’t finish it all, it’s better to drink less of this stuff."
Hazel Yates laughed and said, "Anyway, your uncle is treating today, don’t be polite with him."
Faye Xavier leaned over to Shane Warner and said, "Hey, why do The Suttons have only one daughter? It’d be great if there were more daughters inviting me in, such a lively family."
Shane Warner gave him a sideways glance, "No matter how many daughters there are, none would invite you in. Besides, you’re planning on getting married now?"
Faye Xavier chuckled, "If I could marry a girl like my sister-in-law, who wouldn’t want to get married?"
Shane Warner: "I’ll just take that as a compliment to her."
Hazel Yates stopped Lance Quincy, asking, "Lance, are you used to the food here, having stayed abroad mostly?"
Suddenly being called, Lance Quincy, who had been looking at his phone, immediately put it down, looked up, and politely answered Hazel Yates, "I developed my taste from my grandpa, I eat a lot of Chinese food over there too. The meal at Auntie’s house just suits my palate."
Hazel Yates smiled widely, "What a sweet talker you are, I heard from Phoebe you’d be staying in the country for a while, we have a spare room, why not stay at Auntie’s? At least you won’t worry about meals."
Before Lance Quincy could respond, Norman Sutton expressed his displeasure, "Mom, don’t just bring home random people!"
Hazel Yates quickly shot Norman Sutton a glare, "Eat your food and don’t talk!"
Lance Quincy maintained his smile, not bothered by Norman Sutton’s bluntness, and politely declined, "I came with my team, we’re all staying at a hotel, and we’re busy these days, so I won’t bother you at home. I’ll drop by for a meal when I can."
Hazel Yates smiled and nodded, "Alright, feel free to come anytime, Lana, no need to rush back to work, take this chance with Lance around, you both go have fun."
Lance Quincy: "Lana and I have plans to go to an art exhibition the day after tomorrow."
While saying this, Lance Quincy watched Norman Sutton’s expression, passing on the information to him.
They watched as Norman Sutton, holding a wine glass, grumbled to himself, then tilted his head back and drained the glass in one go.
Lana Holloway had been sitting tensely next to Lance Quincy. After a day of interaction, she found Lance Quincy quite dependable, with a good personality and temperament, easily and graciously replying to the elders’ questions.
