Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 742: You Are Her Whole World
Jasmine Lucas walked up to Miles Sterling and said in a little girl’s tone, "Uncle, is something bothering you? You don’t look very happy."
Miles Sterling frowned in annoyance and said coldly, "Stop pretending. Don’t think I don’t know you were the one who instigated her to write that article exposing me last time."
Jasmine Lucas’s smile froze for a moment, then she dropped her awkward guise and snorted coldly, "Seems like you’re smarter than I thought, but I didn’t instigate her to write the article. It was just things she wanted to say but had no place to express, and besides, isn’t what’s written in there the truth?"
Miles Sterling turned to look at Jasmine Lucas and said in an extremely displeased tone, "Does it have anything to do with you? I’d advise you to mind your own business."
Jasmine Lucas laughed and said, "Oh come on, Young Master Sterling, no need to be so hot-headed. I actually want to help you."
Miles Sterling: "There’s no need."
Jasmine Lucas: "Young Master Sterling, you don’t need to be so hostile towards me. Your sister and I aren’t really friends. I was simply hired to help others, just making money for doing a job, whether helping others or you. My purpose is not to take your sister away from you, but to improve the relationship between you two."
Miles Sterling’s movement of exhaling smoke paused a little, as if tempted by Jasmine Lucas’s words, but after hesitating for a moment, he still said, "I said there’s no need."
Jasmine Lucas noticed Miles Sterling’s internal struggle and seized the opportunity to continue, "I have a basic understanding of your relationship with your sister. She’s not really your sister, and you’ve never treated her as such, right?"
Miles Sterling’s gaze dropped to the river surface, his relationship with Vanessa Sterling...
To be honest, he himself couldn’t figure out their actual relationship, and within The Sterling family, no one ever considered Vanessa Sterling as a genuine Sterling heiress.
He never introduced Vanessa Sterling as his sister, and to be precise, he rarely took her out.
Jasmine Lucas waited in silence for a few seconds, as if allowing Miles Sterling time to contemplate this issue.
Before Miles Sterling could say anything, as he prepared to bring the cigarette back to his lips, Jasmine Lucas stated confidently, "You like her."
Miles Sterling’s hand holding the cigarette hovered in mid-air, his expression changing slightly.
Jasmine Lucas: "You want her to always stay by your side, dislike her interacting with others, especially with men, you just want her world to have only you, right?"
Without waiting for Miles Sterling’s response, Jasmine Lucas continued, "But she is constantly trying to escape from you."
Miles Sterling took a deep breath, then raised his hand again, bringing the cigarette to his lips, listening as Jasmine Lucas continued, "Of course, I’m not here to lecture you; I won’t judge whether what you do is right or wrong. I’ve said I want to help you."
Speaking, Jasmine Lucas lowered her head and took out a white card from her bag, handing it to Miles Sterling, "This is an excellent psychologist, proficient in hypnotism. She can make your sister forget those unpleasant experiences, leaving only what you want her to remember, make her only remember your goodness. Then you will be her whole world."
Miles Sterling paused his movement of bringing the cigarette to his mouth, glanced at the business card Jasmine Lucas handed over but didn’t reach for it, continued his slow inhalation, and said blandly, "Save your worldly tricks for someone else."
Jasmine Lucas chuckled and said, "Whether it’s a trick, doesn’t Young Master Sterling just need to try it? Or Young Master Sterling can just inquire about ’Bianca Jennings,’ I reckon with Young Master Sterling’s connections, finding out the truth should not be hard."
With that, Jasmine Lucas put the business card into Miles Sterling’s jacket pocket, waved her hand as she walked away, saying, "Dr. Jennings doesn’t charge cheap, but the effect is outstanding, and I suppose Young Master Sterling is not short on money. Once it’s done, just give me a bit of commission."
Jasmine Lucas turned and walked away for a long time; Miles Sterling had finished the cigarette in his hand before reaching into his pocket to take out the business card, considering it between his fingers... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Could she really make her forget all those painful memories?
The Suttons.
Like all previous New Year’s, the house was bustling with activity.
This year, the addition of many newcomers brought quite a bit of joy to the family.
Of course, the indispensable event each year was mom’s urging for Audrey Sutton’s brothers to get married.
This year, Hazel Yates changed her approach for the third son, no longer arranging parties to create chance encounters for him.
Because his unusual movements in recent months had already caught Hazel Yates’s attention.
"Third son, are you in a relationship? I haven’t asked you since I thought you’d bring someone back home for a surprise during the New Year."
Arthur Sutton hesitated slightly before replying, "No."
Everyone looked skeptical, Hazel Yates said, "Your dad saw it; you talked with a young lady at the company entrance for quite a while, and it’s heard that she had come looking for you several times at the company, your dad bumped into her several times."
Arthur Sutton tried to dismiss it, "Just a friend from work."
Hazel Yates said without thinking, "Don’t try that; you’ve met female clients before at work but never met repeatedly like this. Besides, wouldn’t your dad know your work friends? Be honest, do you like her but haven’t pursued her yet?"
Arthur Sutton seemed relaxed, picked up the teacup in front of him, took a sip, still denying, "Mom, you’re overthinking it; it’s really just work-related."
Phoebe King teased from nearby, "Mom, our family’s third son is quite handsome; if he puts effort into it, there’s no girl he couldn’t pursue. Not bringing anyone back probably means he hasn’t found the right one yet."
Hazel Yates promptly asked Phoebe King, "Phoebe, do you have any sisters at your home? Or even distant cousins would do."
Before Phoebe King answered, Stephen Sutton said darkly, "Don’t introduce anyone again; we already have one causing a ruckus."
Phoebe King glared at Stephen Sutton, nudged him lightly with her elbow, and Hazel Yates suddenly remembered something and glanced at Lana Holloway sitting beside, asked, "By the way, Lana, what’s up with your recent matchmaking? And Phoebe, didn’t you say you’d introduce your cousin to Lana? Have they made contact?"
Hearing a topic, Norman Sutton, who had been sitting aside playing games on the computer, immediately perked his ears up, his focus no longer on the game...
