Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 651: Uninvited Guests
Phoebe King was already in a bad mood because of her tiff with Stephen Sutton, and to top it off, she lost money playing mahjong, which only made her more depressed.
She didn’t have much of an appetite at lunch, perhaps because she’d eaten too many snacks earlier or maybe because she wasn’t in the mood. Normally, she had a good appetite, but today she only had two bowls of chicken soup before leaving the table.
Sitting alone in the living room, she absentmindedly scrolled through her phone.
She left home that morning, and Stephen Sutton hadn’t shown any sign of concern since then. She felt like he didn’t care about her or their child at all. The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt. She couldn’t understand why she’d have a child with such a man who didn’t know how to show love.
Watching Shane Warner, who was far away abroad, call Audrey Sutton to remind her to be careful while out, Phoebe King for the first time felt she’d married the wrong man. She couldn’t figure out how she ended up with someone like Stephen Sutton, whom she’d chased so diligently!
She even began to doubt if Stephen Sutton truly loved her...
That afternoon, Phoebe King didn’t join the others, claiming she was too full and sleepy. She went alone to the guest room to take a nap.
Audrey Sutton knew Phoebe King was usually full of energy, the kind who could play games on her phone for hours on end. Such an unusual change indicated that her mood was affecting her.
Although Audrey Sutton didn’t want to confront her argumentative brother, she knew a standoff wasn’t a solution either.
So, after much deliberation, Audrey sent Stephen Sutton a message: "Sister-in-law doesn’t seem well. She barely ate and went to sleep. Do you want to come and pick her up?"
Stephen’s reply came quickly, but his response made Audrey Sutton want to throw her phone: "She can leave the way she came."
Audrey was a bit ticked off: "Brother, it looks like you don’t want this relationship to last! What’s the point of keeping face? You could solve the issue with just a few comforting words, but you’re making things complicated for comfort!"
Stephen didn’t reply further, and Audrey, in anger, didn’t bother reaching out again.
Simon Sue entered from outside, saying, "My buddies are here, it might get a bit noisy. Bear should know them, they were the ones who competed with me."
Barry Barrett excitedly jumped up from the sofa: "I know them! Is Daliang here?!"
Simon laughed and joked, "Yes, they’re all single guys. If you’re interested, seize the chance."
Barry Barrett: "I want signatures and photos!"
Flora Lane rolled her eyes: "Can’t you have some ambition? Isn’t it good enough to just take one home?"
Barry Barrett: "Taking one home isn’t cost-effective! If I have one, I can’t have others. I want them all!"
As she said this, the sound of a lively commotion outside could be heard, and a dozen or so young guys came in, laughing and chatting.
They were all about the same age, with Audrey Sutton even being younger than them. But she looked at them like she was looking at a bunch of kids.
Having been with Mor, Flora Lane had learned to restrain herself in front of attractive guys. Seraphina Vaughn, although knowledgeable about the entertainment industry, wasn’t a fan girl, and she could remain composed without acting infatuated.
Unlike Barry Barrett at the moment.
It was like a big fan meeting, a fan seeing a crowd of idols, and Barry Barrett was beyond excited.
As soon as the guys entered, the place turned lively. Amidst the laughter, a young man in a beanie said to Simon Sue, "Oh right, Simon, Senior Payne said he’s coming over soon."
Simon: "Patrick Payne?"
"Yes."
This name instantly excited everyone: "Really? You even managed to invite Teacher Payne?"
Audrey Sutton found the name familiar, so she turned to Seraphina Vaughn next to her for clarification: "Who is that? Is he the movie emperor?"
Seraphina nodded and said: "He’s the guy that was ambiguously photographed by old paparazzi with Clarissa Morgan by the roadside."
Hearing Clarissa Morgan’s name sent a twinge of unease through Audrey Sutton. As for Patrick Payne, she’d seen his shows but didn’t know much about him personally.
Faye Xavier, sitting beside her, complained about a room full of handsome guys but not a single female celebrity, so she called Morgan Quinn to hurry over and bring some beauties with him.
Morgan Quinn and Patrick Payne arrived at the courtyard almost simultaneously.
Faye Xavier, yearning for his beauty, knew Morgan Quinn had arrived and immediately went to the door to look out, but before Morgan could enter, she returned to Audrey Sutton with a heavy expression and whispered, "Sis-in-law, that girl named Morgan also came."
Audrey’s snacking motion paused, and her expression turned slightly surprised: "Clarissa Morgan?"
Faye nodded: "Came with that male star."
Audrey immediately put down the seeds in her hand and walked to the door, where she saw Clarissa Morgan and Patrick Payne walking towards them.
Simon Sue, clearly not expecting Clarissa Morgan, whose expressions had been enthusiastic as a host, developed a noticeably somber look upon seeing her.
Clarissa Morgan approached with a smile: "Simon, sorry for coming over without prior notice."
Though Simon maintained the appearance of good relations with Clarissa, he smiled and replied, "Having Goddess Morgan here is an honor for all of us. Teacher Payne, long time no see."
Patrick Payne laughed and said, "I heard from Lulu about today’s gathering. I had no other plans, so I thought I’d join in with you young folks for some fun."
Audrey Sutton chuckled and asked, "Sister Morgan didn’t come here with Brother Sterling? Aren’t you worried about causing misunderstandings by coming with Mr. Payne?"
Clarissa turned her gaze to Audrey’s face, evidently unsurprised to find her there. In fact, it seemed Clarissa had anticipated Audrey’s presence, hence her uninvited visit.
Being a married man and afraid of misconceptions, Patrick quickly explained before Clarissa, "Clarissa and I are currently recording a variety show together. We both happened to be free today, so we came together."
Morgan Quinn walked over next and asked, "What’s happening here? Why’s everyone standing at the door and not coming in?"
Simon hurriedly invited everyone, saying, "Everyone should be here by now, right? It’s warm inside, come in and chat."
Everyone entered the house, chatting and laughing. Meanwhile, Faye’s face turned even darker than when she first saw Clarissa Morgan. As soon as they were inside, she went over to grab the woman in Morgan Quinn’s arms, pulling her aside and whispering a question: "What are you doing here? Did you forget what I said last night?"
Jasmine Lucas had none of the momentum she had yesterday when bantering with Faye in the room. Fear was written all over her face as she looked at Morgan Quinn and said, "Brother Quinn, who is he? He’s so fierce, I’m so scared..."
Morgan Quinn pulled Jasmine closer and then pushed another curly-haired girl towards Faye with a laugh, explaining: "This is actually your girl. This one’s mine."
