Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 623: You’re Not in That Business, Are You?
Hannah Sue heard Evan Sutton’s words, immediately ran back to Evan Sutton as quickly as possible.
Although she knew Evan Sutton was helping her, she didn’t agree with his approach at all!
In this cold weather, getting hit would definitely hurt!
The girl with colored contact lenses and the girl who ate a lollipop earlier advised the leather jacket girl, saying, "Come on Molly, it’s not worth it. Don’t make a big scene. There will be plenty of opportunities to deal with her in the future."
The leather jacket girl weighed it over and swallowed her anger, but it was clear that the grudge was taken to heart, "Let’s go, to the arcade."
Calling back those guys, the leather jacket girl turned to Hannah Sue, saying, "Hannah Sue, remember this incident today! We’ll settle the score slowly in the future!"
With someone backing her up, Hannah Sue couldn’t resist and taunted the departing backs, "Of course I’ll remember, I’ll even get my dad to come to school to have a talk with your parents!"
After watching the group leave, Evan Sutton looked down at Hannah Sue, who was still clutching his clothes.
Hannah Sue noticed his gaze and immediately withdrew her hand, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
The snow continued to fall, landing on their hair and shoulders.
Hannah Sue pressed her lips together, her numb hands from the cold squeezing into fists, only realizing her grazed skin began to react with pain. She looked up at Evan Sutton, smiling shyly and awkwardly with a hint of infatuation, "...thank you."
Evan Sutton seemingly lost his patience to keep entangling with her, returning to the previous topic, "Give me your account number, I’ll transfer fifty thousand tomorrow."
Hannah Sue froze for a moment, lowered her eyes, rolled them around and said, "I don’t need that much money..."
The clothes were bought for just a few hundred, initially thinking that the car owner’s generosity meant she could casually ask for a few thousand or ten thousand. Who knew he would offer fifty thousand right off the bat.
Since he helped her earlier, accepting the fifty thousand would weigh on her conscience.
But afraid the clothes were priced too cheaply, she’d be looked down upon, so Hannah Sue thought for a moment, "You can give me three thousand, I’ll add you on WhatsApp and you can transfer it to me."
Being able to reasonably ask for a WhatsApp number, Hannah Sue was internally praising her wit when she heard Evan Sutton say, "Just show me the payment code, I’ll scan it."
"...oh."
In less than a minute, the transfer was successful, Evan Sutton said no more and turned toward the car.
Seeing him about to leave, Hannah Sue impulsively rushed forward to block his closing car door.
Evan Sutton frowned slightly, asked her, "Not enough?"
Hannah Sue glanced sideways, "I’m injured! You need to take me to the hospital for a check-up!"
Evan Sutton stepped out again, knowing Hannah Sue was probably causing trouble on purpose, his tone wasn’t particularly good, "Where?"
Hannah Sue immediately started limping, took two steps, "Leg! My leg hurts! Ow~ Could it be broken?! I’m still young, what if I can’t stand up for the rest of my life?!"
Evan Sutton immediately squatted down, feeling the knee she was holding, after a while he said, "It’s not broken."
Hannah Sue was stunned, then said, "You say it’s not broken, it’s not broken?! You’re not a doctor, how can you say it’s not?! I must go to the hospital for an examination! Get an X-ray! Otherwise, if there are any sequelae, who do I turn to?!"
Evan Sutton took out his phone to check the time, thinking this young lady might be trying to extort money, he said, "I’ll transfer an additional ten thousand, is that enough? Go yourself for any examination or X-ray."
"What do you take me for?! My family has plenty of money! Do you think I’m extorting you? You hit someone, how can you behave like this?"
For the first time, Evan Sutton felt someone was so annoying it gave him a headache, he sighed, then sat back in the driver’s seat.
Seeing this, Hannah Sue blocked the car door with her body, "If you dare to leave, I’ll immediately call the police and say someone’s hit-and-run!"
Evan Sutton irritably said, "Get in the back."
Hannah Sue paused before realizing what he meant, then looked away to hide her smile, quickly opened the rear door and got in.
Evan Sutton turned the car around, heading towards the hospital.
Sitting in the car, Hannah Sue took out wet wipes from her bag, wiped her hands, then wiped the dirt off her clothes, but the more she wiped, the dirtier it got, she sighed and gave up.
Looking around the car, she hesitated before talking to Evan Sutton, "How old are you?"
Evan Sutton only glanced at her through the rear-view mirror, didn’t answer her question.
Hannah Sue continued, "Let me guess, twenty-two?"
Seeing Evan Sutton unresponsive, she added, "Twenty-three?"
Evan Sutton listened as she guessed from twenty-two all the way up to thirty, then muttered to herself, "Can’t be that old, at most twenty-five or six."
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"I guess not, otherwise if you’re out so late she’d definitely call, but your phone hasn’t rung."
"What’s your job?"
"Business owner? Salesperson? In sales?"
"No, this car is expensive, it must be a well-paying job."
"Oh my... you wouldn’t be doing that kind of work, would you? You’re so handsome, business must be booming, I’ve heard those wealthy women are very generous, this car, they wouldn’t have given it to you, right?"
Evan Sutton couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke up, "Can you be quiet for a bit? Doesn’t your leg hurt?"
Hannah Sue was dumbfounded for a moment, then quickly pretended to rub her knee exaggeratedly, "Ow~ it hurts when I move."
Evan Sutton, "You were holding the left side earlier."
Hannah Sue, "..."
Quickly she discreetly moved her hand to her left knee, continually muttering about the pain.
Hospital.
At this hour, the hospital was quite deserted, not many patients, only some on-duty medical staff.
Evan Sutton walked ahead, Hannah Sue limped behind, realizing Evan Sutton was walking too fast, she hurried to catch up, then quickly reverted to limping.
"Director Sutton? Didn’t you just have duty yesterday? Switched shifts?" A passing colleague greeted Evan Sutton. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Evan Sutton politely replied, "No, brought a friend for a check-up."
"Oh, nothing serious?"
"No worries, you go ahead."
After the female doctor left, Hannah Sue quickly chased after and questioned Evan Sutton, "Are you really a doctor? What department? Can I come to you for treatment in the future?"
Evan Sutton still didn’t respond to Hannah Sue, bringing her to the registration window, "ID card."
Hannah Sue quickly lowered her head, dug out her ID card from her bag, and handed it to the young lady on duty at the window.
The young lady handled the registration process while saying to Evan Sutton, "Dr. Sutton, not headed home yet at this hour?"
"I’ll be back shortly. You’re doing great."
Evan Sutton took over the registration sheet and ID, accidentally seeing the birth date, confirming what he thought, this girl was only sixteen.
