Chapter 620: Chapter 620: Missing Your Husband?

Clearly, Norman, who has no status at home, his "disagreement" was ignored by everyone.

Hazel Yates even said to Norman, "I talked to this girl about my own matters; it has nothing to do with you. If I take her as my apprentice, I won’t allow her to be with someone as reckless as you, so don’t bother this young girl."

Norman was furious and shouted, "Adopted! I must have been adopted!"

The sound of a car engine came from outside. Hazel Yates stood up and looked out the window, "It must be Evan back, go wash your hands and get ready to eat."

As Hazel Yates got up and walked toward the kitchen, she turned back to remind Stephen Sutton, "Big Brother, can you help me get that girl’s contact information?"

Stephen Sutton nodded, "Sure, I’ll let you know when I have some news."

Norman plopped down beside Stephen Sutton, clinging to his arm and whining, "Big Brother! Why are you teaming up with them to bully me!"

Even before Stephen could reply, Phoebe King, who was sitting on the other side of Stephen, stretched out her hand and slapped Norman’s hand away, "What are you doing?! This is my husband! Get away!"

Audrey Sutton: "Sixth Brother, why are you in such a rush? Mom wants her as an apprentice, not as your wife, so why are you making a fuss?"

Norman: "Who wants her as a wife? I don’t fancy her at all!"

Phoebe King: "Then you definitely shouldn’t interfere in this matter, it has nothing to do with you, little kid." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Stephen Sutton: "Alright, stop arguing, wash your hands and go eat."

Hazel Yates didn’t go directly to the kitchen but opened the door to greet Evan.

This action might seem insignificant, but when someone sees someone waiting by the door upon arriving home, it immediately warms their heart.

Audrey Sutton washed her hands, then headed towards the door. Watching Evan park the car and get out, Audrey waved at him with a round smile, "Fifth Brother!"

The moment she spoke, she saw the rear door of the car open, and when she saw who was getting out, Audrey’s hand froze mid-wave, and her smile gradually faded.

Hazel Yates also seemed shocked, not with Audrey’s bewilderment, but with a bit of surprise; she had never heard that Little Five had a girlfriend before, so why did he suddenly bring a girl home?

Evan’s expression was somewhat gloomy. Though he usually wasn’t particularly cheerful, he still gave off a warm and friendly vibe. But now, his heavy expression was easily noticeable.

Catherine Porter walked alongside Evan after he locked the car and headed over.

Hazel Yates smiled and asked, "Luna, aren’t you going to introduce this girl to your mom?"

Evan furrowed his brows, seemingly hesitant about how to start, but Catherine took the initiative to introduce herself to Hazel Yates, "Hello Auntie, I’m Director Sutton’s colleague. I wanted to borrow some materials from him, so I came over, sorry for the intrusion."

Hazel Yates realized she misunderstood and forced a smile, seemingly quite satisfied with Catherine, as if considering her as her son’s future bride-to-be. She warmly invited her, "That’s great, we were just about to eat. The more people, the merrier. Come inside, it’s warm."

Catherine smiled and nodded, looking over at Audrey Sutton. Audrey met her gaze and quietly stepped aside, with a noticeable wary and evaluative expression, clearly feeling that Catherine’s presence wasn’t just about "borrowing materials."

Catherine changed her shoes first, and Hazel Yates invited her inside, while quietly asking Evan, "Luna, she’s really just a colleague?"

Evan nodded, "Yes."

Hazel Yates smiled, hinting, "This girl seems nice."

Afterward, Hazel Yates paused and patted Evan on the shoulder, "Alright, change your shoes quickly and get ready for dinner."

After Hazel Yates left, Audrey sidled up to Evan and asked, "Fifth Brother... didn’t you say you weren’t familiar with her before?"

Evan quietly changed his shoes and replied, "She just wanted to borrow something. Let’s go, I’ll wash my hands, and you go eat."

Audrey frowned slightly, contemplating as she watched Catherine, feeling uneasy, especially seeing Catherine’s face that bore a remarkable resemblance to Lan Irving, feeling uncomfortable.

Phoebe King stood by the dining table and waved at Audrey, "Come over, Little Audrey! First and Second Sister-in-law saved you a seat, come sit between us!"

Audrey smiled and walked over, initially happy about the gathering, but her mood was dampened by Catherine’s presence at the table.

Being her first visit, Hazel Yates, being hospitable, especially considering it was Evan’s first time bringing a girl home, was enthusiastic, thinking the two might develop further. During the meal, Hazel Yates occasionally brought up topics about Catherine.

But she avoided any potentially embarrassing questions, just learning about Catherine’s job and trying to gauge her personality through their conversation.

If not for Catherine’s likeness to Lan Irving, Audrey might have even liked her a bit.

Judging by her conversation with Hazel Yates, Audrey could tell Catherine was a gentle, mature, and well-mannered person with quite the professional ability, quite a match for Evan.

Yet, from the first time Audrey saw Catherine, she had a sense of suspicion and doubt towards her, especially now as she showed up with her Fifth Brother at home, making Audrey ponder if Catherine had other motives.

The meal left Audrey feeling uneasy, so she left the table early and texted Shane Warner about it.

But Shane might have been busy with work outside and didn’t reply immediately.

Phoebe King finished eating, holding a chicken leg walked towards Audrey, asking, "What’s up? Missing your husband?"

Audrey shook her head, glancing at Catherine, and whispered to Phoebe King, "Sister Phoebe, do you remember the female doctor I mentioned before?"

Phoebe paused her chewing, thought for a moment, and said, "The one who looks like Shane’s former secretary?"

Audrey nodded.

Phoebe caught on late and subtly gestured in Catherine’s direction with her chin, "Is it her?"

Laura Yates also left the table, joined them, and picked up some fruit from the coffee table. She asked Audrey, "Little Audrey, are you feeling unwell? You barely ate."

Phoebe playfully said, "She’s missing her husband, too lovesick to eat."
