Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 334: Brat
Audrey Sutton was startled. She turned her head and stared at him incredulously, quickly reaching out to press down the hem of her skirt, and snapped at him, "What are you doing?!"
Shane Warner didn’t say anything, simply moved her hand away, and with a large hand, grabbed her waist and lifted it up...
This posture... Audrey Sutton was quite familiar with it.
"Are you crazy?! Can you stop messing around?!"
Shane Warner didn’t seem to be joking with her, and Audrey Sutton only then realized that picking up the pen was just a trap he set.
And she foolishly jumped right into his trap.
The man who was just complaining, "It hurts to bend over," was now quite proficient at bending.
"Woof woof—"
General thought Shane Warner was bullying Audrey Sutton and was anxiously barking from the side, unsure of whom to help.
Audrey Sutton felt incredibly embarrassed, never expecting that he would do something like this in such a place and situation.
Once again refreshed his level of abnormality in her mind.
Audrey Sutton pushed him from behind: "Hurry up! The soup is boiling dry!"
Shane Warner held her wrist and unsatisfiedly scolded her, "Don’t move around."
...
It wasn’t until the smell of burnt ingredients wafted through the room that Shane Warner finally released her and tidied her skirt.
Audrey Sutton didn’t have the time to curse him; she rubbed her knees sore from kneeling on the floor, briskly ran over to turn off the stove.
Staring at the pot of scorched rib soup, Audrey Sutton glared fiercely at Shane Warner, while he sat on the sofa contentedly watching the news on TV.
Audrey Sutton was so mad that she wanted to hit him with the spatula in her hand.
Coming back only to boss her around, pretending to be frail, but turned out to be a hungry wolf in sheep’s clothing!
General seemed very worried about her, running over to circle around her legs, looking at her.
Audrey Sutton thought of the scene just now that both General and Pea saw, and felt extraordinarily embarrassed.
She bent down to rub General’s head, as if telling it she was fine, then General left feeling reassured.
Audrey Sutton, bubbling with anger, continued cooking while cursing, "Stop playing deaf and dumb over there. Tonight, you’re sleeping on the sofa, don’t even think about coming into the room!"
Shane Warner casually replied, "If you can bear it."
Audrey Sutton puffing up said, "I can bear for you to sleep on a park bench!"
Shane Warner deliberately misinterpreted her words: "The park isn’t that great, is it? After all, it’s a public place; never thought you, dear wife, were bolder than me."
He rarely called her "wife". Usually, Audrey Sutton would be happy for a moment, but right now she only wanted to hit him.
After finishing the cooking, she set the table, and only then did he walk over slowly.
Glancing at the plate of somewhat charred ribs, he disdainfully remarked, "Looks like not cooking for a few days your culinary skills have declined? The food is burnt, you need to practice some more."
Audrey Sutton was so furious she wanted to smash the plate of green vegetables in her hand on his forehead: "Blame whom?!"
Shane Warner pretended not to understand, pulling out a chair to sit down like a lord and added, "You still haven’t picked up the pen for me. I need it later."
"Use your sister! Pick it up yourself!"
Shane Warner frowned at her, "Who taught you to say ’your sister’ this and that?"
Audrey Sutton slammed the chopsticks heavily in front of him, expressing her inner dissatisfaction, and almost shouted the answer to his question: "Learned from the dog!"
Huffily stuffing food in her mouth, she didn’t respond to him throughout the meal, and only when she put down the bowl and chopsticks did she throw a line at him: "Wash the dishes yourself!"
After saying that, she turned and headed upstairs.
The sound of the bedroom door slamming was audible even downstairs, which made Shane Warner smile, rolled up his sleeves, and cleaned up the dishes.
After tidying the kitchen, Shane Warner cut a plate of fruits, went upstairs to comfort her, only to find she really locked the door.
Shane Warner didn’t pound on the door, went downstairs to fetch the keychain, found the room key, and opened the door.
Audrey Sutton sat by the desk drawing; hearing the door open, knowing he came in, she deliberately didn’t look at him, pretending he was non-existent.
Shane Warner walked over, placed the fruit plate by her hand, and stood by for a while.
Seeing she still ignored him, Shane Warner tapped on the desk, creating noise to attract her attention, and softly asked her, "Really angry?"
Audrey Sutton made a sound, muttered, "Don’t want to talk to you."
Shane Warner chuckled, walked behind her, leaned down and rested his chin on her shoulder, watching the character she was sketching on the computer, casually asked, "Who are you drawing?"
Audrey Sutton didn’t conceal anything, just shrugged her shoulder, leaned forward to put some distance between them, continued sketching, and replied, "None of your business."
Shane Warner laughed, stared at her drawing for a few seconds, then concluded, "Drawing me."
Audrey Sutton neither admitted nor denied, maintaining silence.
Shane Warner watched her draw for a few strokes, then said, "Need me to be your model?"
Audrey Sutton still ignored him.
Shane Warner was relentless, leaned closer, and yet grabbed her arm: "Let me see how your injury is."
Audrey Sutton withdrew her hand, frowned at him, "Can you stop being a nuisance? Go watch TV, I am already behind on my draft for a week!"
Shane Warner: "Then say you’re not angry."
Audrey Sutton turned back to continue drawing, saying while sketching, "I’m not mad."
Shane Warner: "You are."
Audrey Sutton: "Not!"
Shane Warner: "I feel you’re mad."
Audrey Sutton helplessly put down her pen, turned to look at him, "I suspect you got brain damage? How about I take you to the hospital for a check-up later?"
Shane Warner: "Not really mad?"
Audrey Sutton: "Wasn’t mad before, but now I’m getting mad."
Shane Warner chuckled, pushed the fruit plate towards her hand, "Alright then, eat the fruit, and I’ll go downstairs to watch TV."
Audrey Sutton watched him go downstairs, looked at the beautifully cut fruit plate beside her, couldn’t help but smile, suddenly found him rather adorable.
Never before would she associate him with the word "adorable."
Though when he is annoying, he is indeed annoying!
Audrey Sutton suddenly felt that the term "bratty kid" fits him very well—when mischievous, he grumbles your teeth, but when admitting fault, he makes you softhearted.
No one would probably know that Shane Warner has such a side.
She has indeed been quite behind on her drafts while taking care of Shane Warner in the hospital these days.
After Shane Warner went downstairs, he truly didn’t come up to bother her again.
When Audrey Sutton went downstairs with a cup to get water, she discovered he was asleep on the couch.
Pea nestled by his legs, curled up asleep too, most probably climbed onto the sofa after he fell asleep; otherwise, it would have been chased off by Shane Warner.
Audrey Sutton went upstairs to grab a thin blanket and quietly draped it over Shane Warner.
Shane Warner opened his eyes to glance at her, asking, "Finished drawing?"
Audrey Sutton shook her head, "Came down for a cup of water, you continue sleeping."
Shane Warner: "Don’t you rest for a while? Sleep together?"
