Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Want to Touch Abs

Shane nodded, "I’ll go to the pharmacy later to get some medicine."

"You keep nagging me every day, but you ended up catching a cold yourself."

Shane: "Are you concerned about me or just annoyed by my usual nagging?"

Audrey Sutton answered ambiguously, "What do you think?"

Shane picked up a spoon and took a sip of the porridge she made, "I’ll just take it as you being concerned about me."

Audrey Sutton: "I’m just worried you’ll infect me. I’m about to have exams and can’t let a cold disrupt my studies."

"I haven’t seen you love studying even when you’re not sick."

"Wanting to study and not being able to are two different things."

"But the result is the same. How about this, if you don’t fail any subject this time, I’ll prepare some reward for you."

Audrey Sutton quickly asked, "What reward?"

Shane turned his head, coughed a few times with his mouth covered, and then answered her, "The point of my sentence is ’not failing any subject’ rather than ’the reward’."

"You have to give me something to aim for, so I have the motivation to work towards that direction."

Shane seriously thought about it and then asked her, "What reward do you want?"

A flurry of ideas popped into Audrey Sutton’s mind, but the cheeky words stuck at her lips; she couldn’t possibly say she wanted to touch his abs, right?

"If I don’t fail any subject, you have to make me breakfast for a week." She thought and said.

Shane: "That’s it?"

Audrey Sutton added, "After making it, you have to call me to come downstairs and eat at my room door, and you must praise me outside the door. I won’t eat unless I’m satisfied with your compliments."

Shane immediately said, "Take it or leave it."

Audrey Sutton frowned in dissatisfaction, "You’re the one who asked, now you can’t accept losing."

She just wanted to hear him praise her, even if she knew it was insincere; she wanted to hear his kind words.

"Fine, we’ll do as you say. Study hard for the exams."

With this agreement, Audrey Sutton suddenly felt full of energy and silently vowed to study hard in the coming days while on her way to school, to cram for the exams.

However, during the morning’s math class, she still felt lost and dozed through until the class ended.

Typically, she would just let it slide, thinking that once class was over, she was free and didn’t need to dwell on the problems from class.

But while sitting in the dorm with Flora Lane watching a show during lunch, she thought it over repeatedly and felt uncomfortable; she really wanted Shane’s reward.

She told Flora Lane, then grabbed her textbook and left the dorm to find her brother for tutoring.

Stephen Sutton didn’t have classes in the afternoon, and if Audrey Sutton had come a few minutes later, he probably would’ve left.

Seeing his sister actively seeking to study, Stephen Sutton naturally chose to stay and patiently teach her.

Assuming it’s because of the upcoming exams, he didn’t find her eagerness to learn strange.

After spending half the afternoon in Stephen’s one-on-one lessons, she finally understood what she couldn’t grasp in class.

As she was leaving, Audrey Sutton discreetly asked about Phoebe King’s news, but Stephen Sutton seemed unwilling to hear even her name and repeatedly urged Audrey Sutton not to associate with Phoebe King.

Audrey Sutton became curious about what Phoebe King had actually done to her brother.

Just as Stephen Sutton left, by coincidence, Phoebe King called Audrey Sutton.

"Audrey, are you free now?"

"Yeah, what’s up?"

Phoebe King: "Where are you now? Did your brother come to school today?"

Audrey Sutton thought for a moment and honestly replied, "He just left."

"Then I’ll come find you. If you’re available, let’s meet at a café near your school. I’m coming over now."

Hearing the urgency in Phoebe King’s tone, Audrey Sutton wasn’t sure what she wanted to say, but she went to the café outside the school gate to wait for her.

As soon as Audrey Sutton sat down in the café and found a spot, she saw Phoebe King’s motorcycle pull up outside the café.

Phoebe King took off her helmet, walked in, and Audrey Sutton waved at her. Seeing her flustered look, Audrey Sutton asked, "What’s happened, Sister Phoebe?"

Phoebe King smiled and said, "Nothing’s wrong. I just want to ask for your help. Let’s order something to eat and talk while we eat."

Audrey Sutton ordered some juice and snacks, then cautiously asked Phoebe King, "Sister Phoebe, what’s happened between you and my brother? I feel like he has a strong bias against you."

Phoebe King sighed, "Well... let me start from the beginning."

"That night, I went to a bar with a few friends and soon had my eyes on your brother because, well, he’s handsome, and his aura was different from the ordinary folks there. The girls at the same table pushed me to approach him, but none of us dared to strike up a conversation."

"Then, during a game of truth or dare, I lost, and they made me go over and say something to your brother."

Audrey Sutton asked eagerly, "What did you say?"

Phoebe King sighed regretfully again, "I brought this on myself. No wonder your brother looks down on me; he must think I’m particularly improper."

Audrey Sutton was even more curious, "What did you say?"

Phoebe King reenacted the scene, "Hey handsome, how much for a night with you?"

Stephen Sutton, who had always been in academia, couldn’t withstand such blunt words.

So Audrey Sutton was even more curious about, "What did my brother say in response?"

Phoebe King: "Get lost."

Although Audrey Sutton felt a bit sorry for Phoebe King, she couldn’t help but want to laugh.

"So what are you planning to do now? How about I arrange a meeting with my brother to clear things up?"

"No, no, no, if he knows I’m there, he definitely won’t come; if you trick him into coming and he finds me, he’ll definitely turn around and leave."

"Then why did you ask me out? What do you want to say?"

Phoebe King grinned, displaying a somewhat cheeky demeanor, and asked Audrey Sutton, "Sister-in-law, I just want to ask, where does your brother live?"

As soon as she heard the word "sister-in-law," Audrey Sutton felt that she might not be able to stay out of this mess.

"Sister Phoebe, don’t do anything reckless."

Phoebe King explained, "Isn’t today Christmas? I just want to create a little surprise for him, leave a bit of a romantic memory, and perhaps change his view of me."

"Really?"

"I wouldn’t lie to you, sister-in-law."

Believing that Phoebe King probably had some sense, Audrey hesitated for less than two seconds before deciding to rat out her brother, "He usually goes home, but on nights when he has classes, there’s a ninety percent chance he’s at the faculty apartment; he has a place there."

After getting the specific address from her, Phoebe King quickly finished her drink and hurried off on her motorcycle to set up the surprise.

Watching Phoebe King ride away, Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but think about whether she should plan a little surprise for Shane as well.

After considering it for a moment, she decided against it—if he caught on to her little intentions, she would never be able to hold her ground in front of him again.
