Chapter 1015: Chapter 1015: Crescent Stone

After dinner, seeing Ann Vaughn’s keen interest in the herbal medicine, Teresa Grant offered to take her to see the environment where the herb grows.

Ann Vaughn readily agreed.

But since it would be dark in another hour, Ann Vaughn didn’t feel comfortable taking Kenny along, so she asked Ed to help look after him, and went with Teresa Grant herself.

"Annie, look ahead, that’s where the herb grows — Lunara Spring," Teresa said, pointing to a spot not far ahead.

Ann Vaughn looked up, and under the sky tinged red by the orange sunset, she saw a crescent-shaped spring flowing, reflecting the glowing sunset, with rippling water that looked like bubbling orange soda.

The more she looked at it, the more Ann Vaughn craved orange soda.

Teresa mistakenly thought she was thirsty, so she took a clean cup and fetched some spring water for her.

"This place is quite remote, rarely visited by anyone, and the water quality is very clean, safe to drink." Teresa explained, worried that Ann Vaughn might have concerns.

"Thank you." Ann Vaughn happened to be a little thirsty as well, so she took the cup and drank a few sips. The cool, sweet water flowed down her throat, blowing away all the heat and fatigue from her body, like a breeze on a summer night.

Especially, after walking for so long, her legs felt like they were made of lead, but now, miraculously, she didn’t feel a trace of soreness.

A tinge of amazement flashed in Ann Vaughn’s eyes.

She remembered a small note in the "Medical Guide" that said: In Mount Elysian, there is a Spiritual Spring in a cave, and immortals use the water in medicine. After refining with true fire, it can nourish and solidify the body, cure diseases, and prolong life with ease.

She wondered if the Spiritual Spring described in the solitary volume had any connection with Lunara Spring...

"Annie, look at those purple herbal plants growing by the spring, that’s the medicine, we collectively call it wild green." Unaware that Ann Vaughn was lost in thought, Teresa pointed to the herbs and said.

Only then did Ann Vaughn snap back to reality and follow Teresa’s direction with her gaze.

"This herb is called Ruishui River, and it has been quite scarce in the market for about a decade or so." Ann Vaughn looked at the abundant Ruishui River plants by the spring, her eyes shining, "I never thought there would be so many here..."

"It’s because there are too many, I had a sudden whim to make it into a dish, unexpectedly making a big mistake..." Teresa smiled bitterly, "I really don’t want to see them anymore, Annie, if you like them, you can take them all back."

"How can that be? If you’re willing, I can buy all this Ruishui River from you at the market price, however much you have."

Ann Vaughn originally thought finding a few Ruishui River plants would be good enough. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

She never expected there would be so many beside Lunara Spring...

If she guessed correctly, it should be related to this spring.

Teresa couldn’t withstand Ann Vaughn’s insistence, so she didn’t continue to refuse, "There are some more plants like herbs over there, wait here for a moment, I’ll pick them for you to see."

"Alright." Ann Vaughn nodded in agreement.

After Teresa left, Ann Vaughn walked around Lunara Spring and stopped at the spring’s source.

"What’s this?" Ann Vaughn noticed something shining beside the spring’s source.

She used a cup to scoop up the shining object and saw that it was a crescent-shaped amber stone, crystal clear without a trace of impurities.

Ann Vaughn had a sudden idea to taste the water from the spring’s source using the cup.

It was cool indeed, but without any sweetness.

Ann Vaughn then threw the stone into the cup, swirled it around, waited a moment, and took another sip, which made her eyes brighten instantly.

Indeed, she was not wrong.

The distinctive quality of Lunara Spring’s water was all because of this stone.

"Annie, why are you squatting here?" Teresa returned holding a bunch of herbs and saw Ann Vaughn squatting at the spring’s source, immediately noticing the stone in her hand, "Oh, this stone is quite pretty, did you find it at the bottom of the spring?"

Ann Vaughn nodded and pointed to the spring’s source, "I found it here."

"When I was young, I also liked these pretty little things like you," Teresa laughed, "If you like it, just take it, even though it’s not a valuable thing."

"Sister Teresa, this stone actually contains some unique properties, you..."

Before Ann Vaughn could finish speaking, Teresa burst out laughing, "You weren’t going to say the stone has magic, were you? How adorable are you? Alright, alright, I understand, just go ahead and take it."

Never mind the stone, if Ann Vaughn wanted, Teresa would give her the entire spring.

After having her hair ruffled by Teresa, Ann Vaughn, holding the stone, felt extremely frustrated.

She’s really not some immature teenager, geez!

Why is telling the truth so difficult these days??

Returning to the Mushroom House with her spoils, Ann Vaughn didn’t rush upstairs but sat down to have a good talk with Mr. and Mrs. Ed.

Due to Lunara Spring’s nourishment over the years, the surrounding plants have thrived crazily, and many herbs that are difficult to grow in ordinary conditions have also managed to grow stubbornly nearby.

Given their considerable quantity, Ann Vaughn couldn’t pass up such a good opportunity.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed initially wanted to do her a favor by giving them to her for free, but she insisted on paying, so they had to keep lowering the price.

"Annie, we really can’t go any higher, if it’s higher, we’d rather not sell it to you."

"But this price is really too low..."

Ed shook his head disapprovingly, "How is this low? These things are like weeds on our ranch, any sheep could nibble on them. If you buy them at such a high price, it would spread the word that we were taking advantage of people."

"You’re already helping us a lot by buying them." Teresa also advised from the side.

Weeds...

Any sheep could nibble on them...

Ann Vaughn found it both amusing and exasperating and had to agree.

"By the way, do you have any places you recommend for visiting here? I’m thinking of taking Kenny for a look tomorrow."

There have been many guests staying at the Mushroom House, and Ed had answered this question over a hundred times, casually listing several places.

Teresa went straight to get a map and told Ann Vaughn, "Other places you may or may not visit, but there’s one place you definitely shouldn’t miss."

Ann Vaughn leaned in curiously, "Where?"

"Look, it’s the flower wall maze here. Rumor has it that some wealthy man built it piece by piece over more than two weeks for his girlfriend to propose." Teresa’s smile carried an indescribable envy, "When it was first erected, the flower wall maze was filled with photos of the wealthy man’s girlfriend, and behind each photo was a love quote... Oh god, I just don’t get it, why aren’t romantic men ever from our house?"

Saying this, Teresa gave Ed a disdainful glare.

Ed, who inexplicably received a glare, looked puzzled. How was he not romantic??
