Mr Gu's First Doting Marriage-Chapter 449 - 450: Gratifying Everyone’s Heart
Chapter 449: Chapter 450: Gratifying Everyone’s Heart
As they were leaving Starlight Building, Xia Weiwei asked insistently, “Mother, why are we giving that little harlot a free ride? She is still Mrs Gu, and now she’s chairman of Starlight. How are we going to deal with her in the future? Mother, why did you sign? When are you going to take care of Xia Yangyang? I can’t wait.”
Liu Ruyan, vexed by Xia Weiwei’s incessant questioning, couldn’t help but shout, “Enough! Do you think we should let Starlight go bankrupt? I don’t believe that this young girl can pull this off on her own. But I still can’t figure out whether she’s backed by Shengyuan or Timeichuan.”
This last point infuriated Xia Weiwei even more.
What abilities or virtue did Xia Yangyang have to warrant Shen Shichuan bending over backwards for her?
Starlight’s CEO office.
Xia Yangyang sat in the chair, touching the corner of the office desk.
The desk had its years, its surface as smooth as if it had been waxed.
She remembered playing in this area often when she was young.
She loved hiding under this table and playing hide and seek with her father.
Even though she would be hiding in the same spot every time, her father always pretended he couldn’t find her.
“How does it feel to sit in the chairman’s seat of Starlight?” Shen Shichuan asked with a soft smile.
Xia Yangyang returned to reality and answered, “I have to thank you especially for this.”
A long time ago, Xia Yangyang and Shen Shichuan had planned this.
They registered Xinli Media in Shen Shichuan’s name.
Then covertly bought up Starlight’s shares.
And had Xia Yangyang take up the chairman position of Starlight.
However, in reality, Xinli Media had bid quite high, making the enterprise a loss for Timeichuan.
To compensate Shen Shichuan, Xia Yangyang gave him twenty percent of Starlight’s shares that she held for free.
Which meant, Timeichuan had acquired Starlight.
Xia Yangyang was merely a nominal chairman.
Shen Shichuan was the major stockholder holding the largest amount of Starlight’s shares.
Xia Yangyang did not understand business matters very well.
Being a titular chairman was merely to pull a fast one on Liu Ruyan and Xia Weiwei today.
Shen Shichuan walked over, and casually leaned onto the couch beside him, “Why thank me? You gave me so many shares, Timeichuan made a killing. Even though Starlight’s internal operating model is old-fashioned, after a revamp, its rebound is almost a certainty. Are you really willing to let it become a subsidiary of Timeichuan?”
“It’s better than selling it to any Tom, Dick, or Harry, and having it renamed. I’m grateful to you for keeping the name Starlight,” Xia Yangyang replied seriously.
Shen Shichuan folded his arms, “I’ll say this again, Yangyang, I’m only temporarily overseeing Starlight’s operations for you. Whenever you want to take it back, feel free to do so.”
Xia Yangyang shook her head, “Let’s not mix business with personal matters, Brother Shen. I know you’ve helped me a great deal this time. Everyone avoided Starlight when it was declining, thinking it was on its last legs. You were willing to pay a huge price to buy it. I sincerely appreciate it. Therefore, don’t say such things again. Starlight belongs to Timeichuan now, and those shares are yours. Even if I want it back one day, I will certainly pay an equivalent price. I won’t let you give it to me for free.”
Shen Shichuan gave a small smile, “Then I’ll wait for you.”
Shen Shichuan stood up and stretched a little, “The reaction from that mother and daughter today was so satisfying. Yangyang, come to my house for dinner tonight to celebrate. Bingbing is off today.”
Xia Yangyang happily agreed, “Sure, it does feel like I haven’t seen Sister Bingbing in a while.”
