Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 526 - 525: Who Pushed
The old master called for dinner, but there was still work at the restaurant. James Sterling and First Mrs. Sterling would go later, and the Eldest Master Sterling and Second Young Master would head there after work. Butler Lowell was sent to pick up Serena Sullivan first, saying the old master missed her.
At the entrance of the old house, Serena Sullivan, pushed out of the car, saw a black sedan waiting nearby.
The old master must have invited Simon Sterling and the others for a gathering.
The layout of the old house is traditional. After Serena returned, the old master ordered renovations to the pathways and stairs to facilitate Serena’s movement.
The main hall and bedrooms were finished, but the dining annex was still old-fashioned with a high threshold at the entrance. The workers hadn’t renovated this part yet.
Previously, Serena would pass through the corridor directly from the bedroom to the annex without crossing a high threshold.
Today, she was using a lightweight wheelchair, and with servants nearby, lifting it over was not a problem.
This threshold was still higher than usual, and the servant had some difficulty lifting it.
"Let me help you."
A gentle voice came, and Serena turned her head to see Felicity Sterling and Mrs. Sterling in front of her, with Felicity actively helping to lift.
Mrs. Sterling did not intervene, smiling as she stepped back behind the wheelchair.
They had arrived earlier, and Mrs. Sterling was annoyed that the old master and James accepted Serena, making her reluctant to stay with The Sterling Family.
Serena wanted to refuse Felicity’s help; as half-sisters, their relationship wasn’t very good.
Looking down, Serena saw Felicity genuinely helping, and so she didn’t stop her.
As the wheelchair crossed the threshold and was being placed down, Serena felt it suddenly tilt forward, causing her to inevitably tumble towards the ground.
"Thud," several noises sounded as not only Serena but also Felicity, who was holding the wheelchair, fell to the ground.
The two other servants staggered several steps sideways from the impact.
"Felicity!"
Mrs. Sterling at the door saw Felicity fall and hurried to help her up.
As she helped Felicity up, she glanced at Serena on the ground.
Serena’s legs were immobile, but her arms had been trained over the years, making her reaction quicker than most.
When the wheelchair tilted forward, she braced herself with her hands and then quickly flipped herself to sit upright on the ground.
Fortunately, the wheelchair wasn’t heavy, and when it toppled over it didn’t cause her any substantial injury.
However, without assistance, it would be difficult for her to climb back onto the chair.
Urgent footsteps approached; as Serena steadied the wheelchair, waiting for servants to help her up, she saw Wyatt Sterling enter. Upon seeing Serena on the ground, he anxiously lifted her back onto the wheelchair. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Are you alright? Did you hurt yourself anywhere?"
Wyatt, who accompanied the old master and the old lady, had heard the commotion from the annex. Not knowing the reason, he inexplicably quickened his pace.
After settling Serena in the wheelchair, Wyatt picked up the blanket from the ground and gently laid it over her legs.
His hand trembled when it touched her legs; he realized how lightweight she was when he held her just now.
"I’m alright!"
Serena smiled at Wyatt, an unspoken understanding between them making them feel close upon seeing each other.
"What happened?"
Wyatt stood up, his voice steady as he questioned the servants attending Serena.
This Sterling Young Master was known for his gentle demeanor; he usually greeted servants kindly. Seeing his expression turn cold now made the two servants bow their heads fearfully.
