Chapter 465: Chapter 464: I Refuse to Accept Fate

Serena Sullivan knew she had fallen into another bout of unconsciousness, and it started from the moment she left Solaria.

In a haze, she heard someone calling her.

Serena! Serena!

First, it was a cold voice, then gradually, the voice grew more urgent, more frantic.

A warm hand covered hers, and she felt the strength in his palm growing stronger.

"Serena!"

With urgent calls, Serena slowly opened her eyes, letting the dim light seep in, and a face emerged in her sight.

As always handsome, but what was different were those cold eyes filled with urgency and panic.

"Mr. Sterling!"

Regaining her senses, recognizing the man beside her, Serena spoke with a calm voice, turning to look around, stunned by the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Hmm!"

Seeing her wake up, Mr. Sterling breathed in, returning to his usual calmness, though a trace of panic still lingered deep in his eyes.

"Where is this?"

Serena asked.

Lying on the bed, she propped herself up with her hands, Mr. Sterling helped her, then placed a pillow behind her back.

"The Sterling Family’s private island."

Once Serena was settled comfortably, Mr. Sterling sat down on the chair by the bed, answering.

"The Sterling Family?"

Serena repeated, recalling something, lifting her head with a slight smile to look at Mr. Sterling.

The bedside lamp was on, and the curtains were drawn, the entire room remained dim, yet Mr. Sterling’s face was clearly visible to Serena.

"Mr. Sterling, have you misunderstood something?"

"Please arrange someone to take me away."

She called Mr. Sterling not to be rescued by him.

"You can stay here and rest assured." Mr. Sterling did not answer Serena’s question, he shifted slightly, somewhat reluctant to continue the conversation.

"The doctor will be here soon."

He stood up, preparing to leave.

"Mr. Sterling."

Serena called after the fleeing Mr. Sterling, a smile spreading on her lips, her voice gentle with a hint of sadness.

"Thank you for your concern."

"I am aware of my health condition."

Her demeanor was firm, just as determined as Mr. Sterling’s.

"Please arrange for someone to take me away."

Serena said, lifting the covers, intending to get off the bed directly, Mr. Sterling hurriedly turned around, guiding Serena back to her original position.

"Why are you so stubborn?"

With a trace of helplessness, Mr. Sterling replied.

Her temper, who does it resemble!

"Four years ago, I drove away from Solaria and was hit by a large truck on the road. When I woke up, the doctor said my legs might not be able to move."

Serena looked at Mr. Sterling, smiling faintly as she talked about the events from four years ago.

She knew the man before her was her biological father.

But she didn’t know how much he knew about her situation!

Did he know about that accident! Did he know about the suffering she endured over the past four years!

"What may! They’re really immobile."

"Originally, amputation should have been done."

However, before her were two paths, one was to wait for a miracle to happen, in the hope her legs would recover, an extremely slim possibility.

The other, give up those legs, amputate them, and get prosthetics.

"With prosthetics, I could walk like a normal person, but I refuse to accept fate."

Fate was incredibly cruel to her, initially, she hated herself, hated these useless legs, so much so that she wanted to end her own life.

Eventually, she had no choice but to accept reality, enduring all the pain in hopes of standing up one day.
