Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 458 - 457: Far Too Cold-Blooded
"Wyatt!"
As Mr. Sterling went upstairs to his room, he called back Wyatt, who was standing there stunned, "Come up!"
Wyatt turned his head to look at Claire Sullivan outside the hotel. She had already run swiftly into the night, her figure no longer visible.
The night was too dark, the wind too strong, and Wyatt thought about how she said Serena Sullivan was missing. His heart was clenched with unease and pain.
Wyatt followed Mr. Sterling upstairs, where they had booked three suites on the top floor.
Wyatt and Felicity Sterling each stayed in one.
"Wyatt!"
As Wyatt was about to head back to his room, Mr. Sterling stopped him.
Mrs. Sterling tactfully took Felicity to another room, leaving Mr. Sterling and Wyatt to talk.
"Serena’s life or death has nothing to do with the Sterling Family."
Mr. Sterling began, instructing Wyatt in this manner.
Wyatt looked at Mr. Sterling with confusion. In his heart, Mr. Sterling was like a god, his idol.
Even though his grandfather had two sons and a daughter, he would say that Mr. Sterling was very smart.
Originally, Mr. Sterling wanted to stay in school and be a piano teacher, but the old man insisted on bringing him back home, putting Mr. Sterling in charge of the Sterling Family.
Over the years, just as the old man had envisioned, the Sterling Corporation has been thriving.
Wyatt was the predetermined successor. He silently vowed to himself that he would do better than Mr. Sterling in the future.
Yet today, the words and actions of Mr. Sterling made him feel that Mr. Sterling was too cold and ruthless.
"Dad!"
Wyatt replied, "Serena’s leg is not mobile. It’s impossible for her to disappear without someone’s help."
"I’m worried something might have happened to her."
"She’s a good person and is also Auntie’s little disciple. Why don’t we..."
Wyatt’s suggestion was cut off by Mr. Sterling’s strong rejection.
"Wyatt, whether Serena was kidnapped or taken away has nothing to do with us."
Mr. Sterling’s stubbornness made Wyatt angry. Ignoring whether this person was his respected father, he lowered his voice and asked, "Are you just going to stand by and do nothing?"
"Even if we don’t know her, shouldn’t we help in such a situation?"
Mr. Sterling replied unpleasantly, "With the Grant Family, the Lockwood Family, and the Ford Family, it’s not our place to intervene!"
"Besides, they can call the police."
In short, Mr. Sterling refused to use the Sterling Family’s resources to search for Serena.
Wyatt didn’t understand. Suddenly, he thought of something and chuckled softly, "Is it because of Felicity?"
"Hmm?"
Mr. Sterling responded lightly, raising his head to look at Wyatt in confusion.
Wyatt, however, felt he had figured out Mr. Sterling’s reason for refusal. "If something happens to Serena, Felicity could marry Ethan Grant."
"Dad, for Felicity’s happiness, you’ve really gone out of your way."
"But don’t you think you’re being too cold-blooded?"
For the first time, he felt his father’s coldness was terrifying!
Wyatt finished speaking with a cold laugh, not waiting for Mr. Sterling to admonish him further. He turned away.
"Wyatt, I’ll say it again. Serena’s matters have nothing to do with us."
Seeing his son leave angrily, Mr. Sterling reiterated coldly. Wyatt didn’t respond and slammed the door to show his displeasure with Mr. Sterling.
This wasn’t the first time Wyatt stood up to him because of Serena. His obedient and compliant son had turned into someone else in Solaria, and Mr. Sterling had to admit, blood ties are truly terrifying!
No matter that they hadn’t seen each other for over twenty years, when confronting each other, they felt a sense of familiarity and would instinctively protect each other.
Wyatt and Felicity had been siblings for so many years, yet he had never protected Felicity in such a manner.
