Chapter 881: Chapter 877: Keeping a Distance

Oliver Shaw couldn’t understand what Melody Zachary was doing at the moment. He grabbed her arm and started walking towards the coffee shop, "Stop putting on a show. Let’s have a cup of coffee first; we’re starving."

"Let go," Melody whispered under her breath as she cautiously glanced around, "Stop pulling at me; I don’t want any rumors with you!"

Oliver Shaw...

Nearly got infuriated by this trendy ex-wife of his.

In the coffee shop, the waiter brought over two cups of coffee and couldn’t help but glance at Melody a few more times. Generally, people who dressed like this outside were celebrities, but Melody had just entered the business. Although she’s acted in several supporting roles, none of them have been released yet.

Seeing that Melody was still fully equipped, Oliver was quite helpless, "Can’t you take off your mask and sunglasses?"

With an irritated glare at Oliver, Melody reluctantly took off her mask and sunglasses. Honestly, wearing them wasn’t very comfortable, it felt like looking through cloudy skies.

Oliver slowly sipped his coffee. After being hungry all afternoon, a bit of coffee helped relieve it slightly. Melody stirred her coffee absentmindedly with a steel spoon, her gaze fixed on the direction of the departure lounge.

The assistant just called, saying that the child was causing a fuss and cried, not wanting mom to leave. Melody’s heart softened, so she simply gave her a holiday, telling her to stay home and celebrate the New Year before heading back to the set.

Thinking about boarding the plane and being alone later, Melody also felt a bit lonely.

She stared idly outside and saw someone holding a phone in her direction. Instinctively, Melody quickly pushed Oliver’s head down and then gave a friendly smile towards the doorway.

That sudden action took Oliver by surprise. He was drinking coffee when Melody suddenly pressed his head down, causing half a cup of coffee to spill on him, and he even choked a bit.

After coughing a few times, Oliver looked helplessly at Melody, "Melody, what are you doing?"

"Didn’t you see? There was a paparazzo sneak! Shooting!"

Oliver let out a frustrated sigh and turned to look, but Melody pulled his head back again, "Come back, don’t show your face!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Throwing the napkin onto the table, Oliver was getting annoyed, "I’m telling you, stop being paranoid. Your TV drama hasn’t even passed the review yet; who would recognize you? Stop wasting your energy!"

Retrieving her hand, Melody picked up her coffee cup, mumbled discontentedly before sipping, "Don’t look down on me. When I’m famous, don’t ask for my autograph!"

"Beyond help," Oliver sighed helplessly, grabbing tissues to keep wiping the coffee off his cashmere coat.

After the earlier incident, as they left the coffee shop, Melody refused to let Oliver follow her no matter what. She instructed him to keep a certain distance from her, saying she was afraid of being photographed by reporters and causing rumors. Reluctantly, Oliver had no choice but to keep his distance from her.

...

On New Year’s Eve, a day for family reunions, yet for some, it’s both joy and sorrow.

Chu Si didn’t return to his hometown for the New Year, sitting alone in his study, propping his chin and staring blankly.

Sophie Foster seemed to have vanished into thin air. He asked friends to investigate, but indeed, she was not found in prison...

Nathan Moore had dinner in his villa and then went into the study, telling Olivia Zane he still had work to handle, but in reality, he was just sitting at his desk, daydreaming...

Felix Shaw was home alone as well, but compared to his two brothers, he was in a better mood. He had a call with Mia Foster at midnight yesterday, telling her he would be flying to the U.S. in the next couple of days.
