Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 840 - 836: Going Abroad
Oliver Shaw didn’t soften because of his daughter’s words. He still stood at the villa’s entrance, looking at his daughter who was still sobbing, and asked, "If dad and mom were to separate, who would you choose?"
"Dad, Seraphina wants to be with both mom and dad," Seraphina said timidly upon seeing her father’s stern expression.
"No! You can only choose one!"
Oliver Shaw said sternly. Looking at her father, Seraphina bit her lip, let go of Aunt Xu’s hand, lowered her head, and silently walked back home. Seraphina’s actions clearly showed her choice; if mom and dad couldn’t be together, she chose her mother.
"Open the door!" Oliver Shaw ordered coldly and turned to walk into the villa. Aunt Xu returned to open the main door, Seraphina silently walked out, pulling on her mother who was still kneeling outside the door, "Mom, let’s go back, Seraphina is hungry..."
Vanessa Armstrong stood up from the railing, looked at the tightly closed door of the villa, grabbed her daughter’s hand, and turned to leave.
On the second floor of the villa, Oliver Shaw stood by the window, watching the mother and daughter leave in the night, his brows tightly furrowed.
Perhaps entrusting his daughter to Vanessa Armstrong for upbringing was a mistake; such a woman might mislead the child’s future. Suddenly having an idea, he turned and walked out of the room.
The next day, Vanessa Armstrong was forcibly sent away from T City, and Seraphina Shaw has never appeared in T City again. As for where they went, probably only Oliver Shaw knows.
With the mother and daughter gone, the entire villa felt a lot colder.
On the company side, Felix Shaw smoothly took the top position, with no worries left, he left work early the following days to pick up Mia Foster.
Standing outside the company, holding a bouquet of roses, at first he would say some flattering words, but after a few days of being ignored by Mia Foster, he simply shoved the flowers into her hands and then drove off,
One night, Mia Foster accidentally lifted the curtain and looked outside, under the streetlight, a man leaned against the car smoking towards her window. At first, Mia was truly frightened, thinking it was a peeping tom. But after she looked carefully, she realized it was Felix Shaw. For several consecutive days, it was the same, Felix Shaw stood downstairs looking at her window smoking. Although Mia Foster didn’t know when he left, one morning, when she went downstairs to run she saw a ground full of cigarette butts where Felix Shaw had stood at night.
For Mia Foster, it’s like a thorn growing in her skin, pulling it out would cause pain with flesh and blood, not removing it, it would fester, causing even nerves to hurt.
In her twenty-something years, Mia Foster hadn’t felt moved by anyone, Felix Shaw was her only one, full of reluctance, but remembering that he had a child with another woman was a hurdle she couldn’t overcome in her heart.
Half a month passed, beside sending flowers, Felix Shaw would stand under Mia Foster’s window every night, without calling to harass, just silently watching her window. Although Mia Foster tried to control herself not to look at him, she couldn’t control her heart; lying in bed as soon as she closed her eyes, Felix Shaw’s lonely figure would automatically appear. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
She had already submitted a divorce application to the court, but every time, Felix Shaw would tear up the subpoena and never appear in court as scheduled.
To escape this life as soon as possible, Mia Foster proposed to her father to continue working at the overseas branch. Edmund Foster considered briefly and agreed to his daughter’s request.
