Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 768 - 764, I can’t help wanting to call you
Actually, Felix Shaw didn’t want to cook at home mainly because he didn’t trust Mia Foster’s cooking skills. However, as soon as he took a bite of the noodles, the light aroma of pasta mixed with egg and some unknown flavors overwhelmed his taste buds. Felix inadvertently looked up, staring at Mia Foster in surprise.
"What’s wrong? Does it taste bad?" Mia Foster asked, confused, as she picked up another bite of noodles.
"It’s delicious." Felix sincerely complimented, "Better than the noodles I make myself."
Mia Foster lowered her head and continued eating her noodles, her pride mingled with a bit of shyness, "Of course, what would a single man like you know about cooking."
A big bowl of noodles, Felix quickly slurped it all up. Seeing his lingering desire for more, Mia Foster divided her own noodles and gave some to him, "We only found this much noodles at home. Let’s go to the supermarket together tomorrow and buy more ingredients. I’ll cook for you every day."
Mia Foster’s domesticity moved Felix. He looked at her and softly said, "Okay."
That evening, Nicholas Croft gathered a few brothers for a dinner. On the day of the wedding, they were supposed to have a reunion dinner with parents, but when Oliver Shaw called, Felix declined. He finally escaped from that environment, that dysfunctional family he never wanted to return to.
In the private room, the group was small, four men plus Mia Foster and Sophie Foster.
Nathan Moore didn’t bring Olivia Zane along, sitting with Evander Lancaster, the two single men together.
The waiter served all the dishes, and Nicholas Croft stood up first, raising his glass, "Today is a joyful day for Felix and Mia, I wish you love and harmony, may you have a lifetime of happiness together!"
Sophie Foster also stood up, arm-in-arm with Nicholas Croft, raising her glass and saying, "I wish sister Mia and Uncle Felix have a precious child soon!"
As soon as Sophie spoke, it drew laughter from Evander Lancaster, "Sophie, what kind of address is that, one is sister and the other is uncle!"
"Lara, you should change the way you address them."
Nicholas Croft gently reminded his sweetheart, Sophie stuck out her tongue and said, "Oops, my mistake, let me say it again, I wish Uncle Felix and Auntie a harmonious marriage and may you have children soon!"
Mia Foster, being called auntie by Sophie Foster, didn’t show shyness but smiled graciously, "Thank you."
After sitting down, Nathan Moore stood up as well. Although he spoke words of blessing, his handsome face didn’t show any happiness, and his brothers all understood that ever since Titus Zane left, he almost lost the ability to smile.
Evander Lancaster also offered his blessings, but after sitting down, he was teased by his friends about marriage. Evander said he was as free as the wind, not wanting to be bound by any ties, which prompted Sophie Foster to tease, "Someday, a woman will completely consume him..."
When the dinner was nearly over, Nicholas Croft again proposed, today being Felix Shaw’s big happy day, they should let the couple return home early for their wedding night.
They said their goodbyes at the restaurant’s entrance, everyone heading their separate ways.
Back at home, Mia Foster tidied up briefly and went to the bathroom to draw a bath. Felix Shaw sat on the couch watching TV, the cellphone on the coffee table flashed, a WeChat message had arrived.
Picking up his phone, he opened the WeChat interface. A message from Elizabeth White appeared.
...I know it’s not a good time to call, but I couldn’t help wanting to reach you...
Felix Shaw’s brows unconsciously furrowed, not sure whether Elizabeth White was doing this intentionally or not. It had been half a month without contact, yet she chose today to persistently call.
