Chapter 698: 694, Respond to me

"Is there anything else?" Mia Foster turned her head, wearing a grey knitted coat with her hands in her pockets and her long hair hanging naturally over her shoulders. Perhaps due to her bad mood, she seemed less confident and imposing than usual, more like the girl-next-door.

"You!" Seeing Mia’s puzzled look, Felix Shaw gritted his teeth and muttered under his breath, then stood up and strode over, "You really don’t get it!"

As his words fell, Mia felt a darkness before her eyes as Felix cradled her face, hands still in her coat pockets, and before she could react, his lips were heavily on hers.

Caught off guard by the sudden move, Mia felt her brain explode and her lips parted slightly, forgetting to react.

The waiter still standing at the table waiting for the bill saw the two kissing in the aisle of the restaurant and shyly covered their mouth.

Meanwhile, Mia kept her eyes open, enduring Felix’s gentle explorations on her lips, and even noticed his heavily lashed, long eyes focused on her lips, seemingly very absorbed.

"Respond to me..." Three words spilled from their touching lips, his eyelashes unconsciously trembled, and instinctively, Mia took a step back.

"Phew..." Felix’s lips also parted from hers as he took a deep breath, his hands sliding from her face down her shoulders to grasp her wrists, pulling her hands out of her pockets, then slipping one hand into his trouser pocket, fiddling with something unknown.

Mia, as if acupunctured, stared at Felix, forgetting to react with their eyes locked, Felix looked serious.

Suddenly, a coolness touched her right ring finger, and Mia instinctively looked down only to see the wedding ring she had returned slipped back on by Felix.

"Felix Shaw..." Mia furrowed her brow, uncertain about her feelings at that moment, filled with confusion, misunderstanding, struggle, and conflict.

Meeting Mia’s gaze, Felix slowly lifted her hand and gently kissed it under her puzzled look, his expression serious as he spoke in a commanding tone.

"From now on, you’re not allowed to take it off without my permission."

"Felix Shaw! Do you know what you’re doing!"

Mia’s brow furrowed even deeper, her breathing quickened.

But Felix laughed, kissed her fingers again, "Silly, you’re my fiancée, of course I know what I’m doing."

Biting her lip, Mia felt like she was dreaming, her smile helpless and bitter, "Stop joking, I’ll take it seriously."

"It is serious." Felix then pulled Mia back to the table, pressed her back into her original seat and sat opposite her.

"Sir, would you like to settle the bill?" The waiter, who had been waiting by their side, interjected unceremoniously, to which Felix nonchalantly replied, "Wait a moment, add two more dishes for us."

Mia Foster...

Only then realized they were in a restaurant, glancing around quietly, she noticed many customers were looking at her with smiles.

She shyly scolded, "Felix Shaw, how can you be like this." Kissing her in such a public venue.

Felix also looked around and laughed nonchalantly, "What’s there to be afraid of, we’re fiancés."

Mia couldn’t help but admire Felix’s attentiveness again; they hadn’t spent much time together, only having dined a few times, yet he knew exactly what she liked.

Then he asked the server to add two more dishes, one of mushrooms and a small portion of Cordyceps Duck, pushing the serving of duck soup towards Mia, Felix said, "Eat more, women look better with a bit of flesh."
