Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1035 - 1031: The Tempting Offer from Nicholas Croft
"How could that be? You’re so outstanding, who would be willing to break up with you?" Beatrice Hargrave gasped in disbelief. Nicholas Croft put down his napkin and chuckled self-deprecatingly, "But she just doesn’t want me anymore,"
"You must have made her sad!" Beatrice mumbled, then continued to bury herself in her food, her lowered eyes hiding her emotions.
Looking at this girl who looked so much like Sophie Foster yet had a completely different personality, Nicholas Croft’s eyes drifted again. He took a sip of water and asked subconsciously, "Have you been studying abroad all this time?"
"Yeah," Beatrice looked up, nodded, and asked with some confusion, "What’s up?"
"Nothing." Nicholas Croft smiled faintly, put down the water glass, and picked up the chopsticks again to help Beatrice with some food, "Eat more, you’re too skinny."
Beatrice looked down at herself, "My figure looks better on camera this way."
"Want to act?" Nicholas seized the opportunity to probe.
"Hmm... if there’s a chance, I might give it a try," Beatrice mused, propping her chopsticks on the plate, pouting as if thinking seriously. Seeing the timing was right, Nicholas extended the olive branch again.
"As long as you sign with my company, I guarantee you’ll get an acting role right away."
The offer was so tempting, Beatrice bit her lower lip, seeming to hesitate. Nicholas quickly pressed on, "How about it, want to think about it?"
Meeting Nicholas’s expectant gaze, Beatrice suddenly sighed, looked away, and absent-mindedly poked the plate, "Forget it, my father definitely wouldn’t agree."
"You’re an adult, you can make your own decisions."
Upon hearing this, Beatrice suddenly looked up at him, smiling faintly, "If my father and sister knew you were poaching me, what do you think they’d say?"
Nicholas...
Pressed his lips together in silence, took a sip from his water glass to hide the embarrassment of his intentions being exposed.
Suddenly realizing, the girl opposite him wasn’t simple at all, and upon closer thought, it made sense. After all, Henry Hargrave’s daughter couldn’t be a blank slate.
After lunch, he sent Beatrice back to the training ground. On the way back to the office, Nicholas suddenly changed his route and drove to Phoenix Entertainment Ltd.
In Henry Hargrave’s office, Nicholas first exchanged polite greetings, then casually brought up the topic, "Mr. Hargrave, what are your plans for your daughter? When do you intend to introduce her to the entertainment industry?"
Henry Hargrave, being astute, immediately saw through Nicholas’s intentions as soon as he spoke. He smiled and said, "My daughter is still young, too naive, not suitable for the entertainment industry yet."
"Then why did you let her participate in the New Voice Generation competition?" Also, she’s currently receiving guidance from professional mentors.
Henry Hargrave smiled again and said, "Mia has loved singing since she was little, so for now, I plan to help her find a few musicians to create some songs that suit her, maybe release an album to fulfill her dream."
"Mr. Hargrave, for such an outstanding girl like Beatrice, wouldn’t it be a waste for her to just release a few albums?"
"No," Henry Hargrave waved his hand with a smile, "Mia is still young, it’s not too late to let her enter the acting circle when there’s an opportunity."
"What a pity, your daughter is so excellent, I was planning to introduce her to a few directors." Nicholas sighed, slightly regrettably. Even though Henry also runs an entertainment company, neither his connections nor resources match Nicholas’s.
