Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 66 - : Great Adventure
Chapter 66 - 66: Great Adventure
As Kane's mother, she felt a twinge of jealousy. But she couldn't deny that the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Even Daniel seemed more pleasing to her at that moment.
"What are you looking at, Ms. Chantelle?"
"Nothing."
"If you want to look at me, you don't have to be sneaky about it."
"Mr. Wilson, you've been quite chicky lately. Are you aware of that?"
Before Chantelle could come up with an excuse to walk away and find Kane, he came running out of the house, beaming with excitement.
When Kane saw Chantelle, he winked at her as if proudly showing off his birthday party.
Then, he ran over and hugged Daniel's leg.

Chantelle was stunned by how close they seemed. If she didn't know how good an actor Kane was, she might have thought he had switched sides.
"Daddy! This lady is so pretty. Can I take a picture with her?"
"Of course. I'm sure Miss Chantelle won't mind since Rai is so adorable."
"Sure. Let's take a picture together."
Chantelle had no choice but to agree.
Still, she couldn't figure out what Kane was up to.
Chantelle shot Kane a warning look, but he ignored her completely.
The Wilson family's photographer took their picture.
"Wow, Mr. Wilson and Miss Chantelle make a perfect pair."
"They look just like a family of three. Such a loving family."
"Since Mr. Wilson brought her here, she must be the future Mrs. Wilson."
"It's very likely. They're even wearing matching outfits today."
Guests kept whispering about them, but Daniel remained indifferent as he greeted others.
Chantelle wanted to explain, but since it was Kane's birthday, she didn't want to make a scene. She had no choice but to ignore the chatter, just like Daniel.
It was only then that she noticed they were actually wearing matching outfits. Since she had chosen Kane's outfit, that made sense. But Daniel's suit had the same color, material, and pattern as theirs—too much of a coincidence.
This design was rare in the fashion industry. Their outfits were from GG Boutique's unreleased collection.
Chantelle couldn't understand why Daniel was dressed just like them.
Was Daniel also a regular client of GG Boutique?
Thanks to the photo session, Chantelle got to spend more time with Kane.
The Wilson Residence felt like a theme park.
Kane excitedly pulled her along, showing her around. They ate pastries, drank chocolate milk, and even rode the swings and the carousel in the garden.
Seeing Kane so happy made Chantelle relax. She followed him around, snapping pictures with her phone. She wanted to capture these moments—children grew up too fast.
"Here, look at me. 1, 2, 3..."
She took a picture of Kane on the carousel.
Just then, the butler handed her a Polaroid camera, noticing how much fun they were having.
A fresh Polaroid print slid out, capturing the moment perfectly.
"Mom... Auntie Chantelle, do I look handsome in the picture?"
"Of course. Just wait a moment, and the image will show."
Chantelle gently shook the Polaroid. Slowly, Kane's face appeared in the photo.
"Wow! I knew it! I'm getting more and more handsome!"
"What a narcissist," Chantelle teased him.
But her smile faded as she looked at the picture.
Kane noticed that Chantelle's expression had changed and he whispered to her. "Mommy, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing. Well, Birthday Boy, what else do you want to play?"
Kane crossed his arms like an adult. "Miss Chantelle, I know I'm a child, but please don't lie to me."
Chantelle stayed silent. She knew she couldn't hide it from him. Reluctantly, she showed him the photo.
A shadowy figure had been caught in the background. It was Kate.
Dressed in black, she was hiding in the bushes. If not for the photograph, no one would have noticed her.
Chantelle sat on a bench with Kane as he whispered, "It's that bad woman. Mommy, should we inform my Scumbag Daddy?"
She hesitated before answering. "There are too many people around. Let's see what she's up to first."
Kate could only be here for two people—Daniel or Kane.
Chantelle wasn't worried about Kane since he was right next to her.
As for Daniel, she figured it was best to stay out of it. Their relationship wasn't her concern.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go, Mommy! Off to a great adventure! Let's find out what the bad woman is up to."
Kane was excited about this "great adventure" with his mother. He grabbed Chantelle's hand and led the way toward the residence.
Chantelle had no choice but to follow. She was just as curious to see what trouble Kate might do.

The Wilson residence.
After greeting a few guests, Daniel headed to the study and left Mr. Charles in charge of the banquet.
A large screen lit up in front of him, showing live surveillance footage from different areas of the house.
His eyes immediately landed on the footage of Chantelle and Kane. He enlarged the screen and watched them like it was a beautiful movie.
Seeing Rai happily leading Chantelle around awakened a strange emotion in his heart.
Daniel had never seen Rai get close to any woman before. A part of him wanted to join them at the banquet, but he hesitated.
He was scared that his presence might make Chantelle uncomfortable and push her away.
That could ruin Rai's birthday. So, he held back his urge and chose to watch them through the screen.
A sudden knock on the door grabbed Daniel's attention. He quickly switched the footage and sat at his desk before allowing the visitor to enter.
Ashton walked into the room hurriedly. "Mr. Wilson, Felix is awake."
Daniel stood up quickly and grabbed his coat. "No time to waste."
He instantly headed toward the elevator hidden beside the cupboard across from his desk.
"Mr. Wilson, it's Railer's birthday today. Maybe you should stay," Ashton suggested. He knew Felix was important, but Railer mattered even more to Daniel.
Daniel paused for a brief moment. "He'll enjoy himself as long as Chantelle is with him," he replied. "Stay here and make sure no one notices I'm gone."
"Mr. Wilson, Mr. Charles is already handling things. Let me go with you instead," Ashton offered.
"There's no need," Daniel replied, stepping into the elevator and shutting the doors.
The elevator took him to the underground garage.
