Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Come Back And Check Daniel

"You drugged him?" Philip asked, furrowing his brow.

Daniel had always been cautious about being set up, especially after he once wrongly accused Chantelle of doing it years ago. Philip found it hard to believe someone could drug Daniel again. The only explanation in his mind was that Chantelle did it.

"I would never! Stop with the nonsense and just check if he’s okay!"

Chantelle was annoyed by Philip’s gossip. She couldn’t believe he was still joking after seeing Daniel like that.

"Okay, I got it. When he wakes up, I’ll make sure he knows how much you cared," Philip said with a wink before helping Daniel into the lab’s ward.

Chantelle sat on the sofa outside and her eyes were glued on the closed door.

Calvin spoke up, "Ms. Chantelle, Dr. Collins looks relaxed. Mr. Wilson should be okay."

Hearing that, Chantelle let out a small sigh. Calvin was right. Philip always worried about Daniel, but he was still joking around earlier. That meant Daniel’s condition wasn’t serious. He should be fine.

"Ms. Chantelle, you’re usually calm. You just care too much about Mr. Wilson," Calvin added, noticing she looked agitated and trying to make her feel better.

But Chantelle wished he hadn’t said that. It only made her feel more embarrassed.

Half an hour later, Philip finally walked out of the ward, looking serious.

Chantelle had already been waiting anxiously. She rushed over, grabbed his arm, and asked, "Why did it take so long? Is he okay?"

Philip scratched his head like he always did when nervous, messing up his neatly styled hair.

Seeing that, Chantelle’s heart sank.

"Did you fail to detox him? Is that aphrodisiac dangerous to his health?" Chantelle asked and she became more anxious when Philip stayed silent.

Philip sat down on the sofa and let out a sigh. "I’ve removed the effect of the aphrodisiac, but since you gave Daniel a sedative right when the drug was starting to work, it caused a problem with his sexual function."

"You mean Daniel can’t be with women anymore?" Chantelle asked. She looked a bit relieved knowing it was just about that.

Philip nodded. "For now, it seems hard to fix."

Chantelle paused for a moment, then stood up and said calmly, "It’s not a big deal. That’s not the most important part of him anyway."

"No, Chantie, you don’t get it. For a man, this is about pride!" Philip was shocked and clearly unhappy with how quickly she ignored Daniel’s sexual problem.

Chantelle waved her hand and said, "Men always care about the most pointless things."

"Have you even thought about your future? You might never be able to have kids again. You’re only in your twenties," Philip said, glancing toward the ward. Deep down, he felt sorry for Daniel.

Why didn’t I notice before that Chantie really doesn’t understand men?

"Daniel isn’t the only man in the world. If I want another child, I can always find someone else." Chantelle gave a cold smile and left with Calvin.

Philip walked into the ward and saw Daniel sitting on the bed. Daniel wore a gloomy face. Philip immediately shrank his neck and tried to sneak away silently.

"I want to be sick."

"Huh?"

Philip was stunned and halted his steps. In all his years as a doctor, he had never heard anyone make such a request.

"Tell Chantelle you soaked me in cold water. Say I’ve caught a cold and have a fever. I can’t take care of myself anymore." After saying that, Daniel lay down on the bed.

Chantelle’s words earlier felt like a heavy blow to his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.

"You..." Philip looked at Daniel lying on the bed and let out another sigh. "Fine, I’ll call Chantie later. But don’t blame me if she refuses to come to take care of you."

"I will blame you. You’re useless," Daniel said, turning to face the white wall.

"Hey, don’t drag me into your fight. If I’m so useless, go find someone else to treat you."

"If you don’t help me, I’ll send you to Alewell to work in the mines," Daniel said in a threatening tone. freewebnσvel.cѳm

Philip looked like he was about to cry. "Okay, fine! I’ll call Chantie right now."

When Chantelle picked up Philip’s call, she was just about to reach Brian’s place.

"Daniel’s condition is getting worse?!" Chantelle asked, clearly anxious. Her worried tone didn’t match the calm expression she had just moments ago.

Philip let out an awkward laugh and replied, "Chantie, I soaked Daniel in cold water, and now he’s got a fever. There’s still some of the drug left in his system, but he refuses to go back in the water. He’s throwing a fit in the ward. Can you please come back and check on him?"

"Wait for me. I’ll be there in half an hour." Chantelle’s car had just pulled up outside the Morgan family’s villa.

"Half an hour?! What are you even doing? What’s more important than Daniel right now?"

"You don’t need to know about it." Chantelle was about to hang up when Calvin suddenly said, "Ms. Chantelle, we’ve arrived."

Chantelle frowned and looked at him. Calvin just smiled and said nothing.

They were now standing outside the Morgan family’s villa. A maid soon came out to welcome them.

Inside the living room, Chantelle met Roger, Belinda, and several of the Morgan family’s daughters-in-law. They greeted her warmly. It was clear they already knew she was the chairman of the Charity Association and Daniel’s wife.

Chantelle gave a polite smile. "Good evening. I’m sorry for showing up so late and disturbing you."

"It’s fine. I heard your fashion show tonight was a big success. You did an amazing job," Belinda said with a warm smile.

Chantelle replied modestly, "It was just a small show. But thank you."

The Morgan family was also in the fashion industry. One of their dress brands had always been well-known and respected.

"I came tonight mainly to talk about a possible partnership with Mr. Brian. Is he available?"

"You’re here to see Brian? I think I saw him come back a little while ago. Hold on, I’ll have someone call him right away," Belinda said and her smile became even brighter after hearing that Chantelle wanted to work with them.

After all, Belinda had heard that Daniel spoiled Chantelle a lot. If the Morgan family could work with her, it would be like having the protection of the Wilson Group Of Companies.

They’d be fools to turn down a chance to make money with someone like Chantelle.

Besides, Belinda knew Brian too well. He was just a useless playboy. She couldn’t understand how he managed to catch Chantelle’s attention.

Still, no matter what, the Morgan family had to grab this opportunity and hold it tightly.
