Alpha Dylan’s pov

I stayed by Lucinda’s side all through the day and the entire night.

I was sitting on a single-seater sofa that was positioned by the side of the bed, with my eyes never leaving Lucinda’s side.

She has not woken up since yesterday, even after the doctor told me that she was alright.

After thinking things through, I have made my decision.

As Lucinda’s eyes slowly opened up, I stood up from the sofa and stood close to her.

She turned her head to look in my direction when her eyes fully opened. "Dylan?". She called me, before she slowly sat up on the bed.

Her hands touched her face, which was bandaged using adhesive bandages.

Only the part of her face that had scratch marks was bandaged by the nurse.

As for the right side of her cheek, which was swollen, the nurse only applied medicine to it after the doctor had finished injecting her.

"What happened to me?". She asked me and I frowned.

What was the meaning of her question? I ought to be the one asking her what happened to her, not the other way around. "I saw you unconscious on the floor yesterday. Your face was a mess. Who did that to you?". My eyes darkened, and my aura turned cold as I said to her.

Lucinda’s right hand slowly touched the back of her head, and the expression on her face, with the way she was furrowing her eyebrows, looked like she was trying very hard to remember something.

Seeing the confused look on her face, the frown on my face deepened. "What is it?". I asked her.

"I- I don’t remember. I don’t remember".

My hands made their way to my hips.

"You don’t remember? What do you mean by that?". I asked her.

"I don’t know who has done this to me". She quickly replied to me and stopped touching the back of her head.

Her hands started to shake. She was looking around, and fear filled her emerald eyes.

"What is wrong with you?". I asked her.

"I don’t know why, but I am very scared. Some-some- something is making me fear. I- I".

I became displeased with Lucinda because I hated the way she was behaving.

’How can she not remember what happened to her? Did the person who hurt her hit her head too? Or did she hit her head somewhere on her own yesterday and injure her head? Is that the reason why she is afraid for no reason? But, apart from the injuries on her face, the doctor said that she was alright’. I wondered.

Things got more serious when Lucinda’s entire body began to tremble. Since she was in a sitting position on the bed, she made her knees stay close to her chest and hugged them, while looking around the room as if she had gone insane.

"St- stay away from me!". She suddenly screamed at the top of her lungs and lowered her head, surprising me.

"Get a grip on yourself, Lucinda! What the heck is wrong with you today!". I yelled at her and fully expected her to obey me in an instant, as I knew she had a deep respect for me and had always done what I told her to do.

Lucinda stopped trembling and panicking, just like I expected.

There was no way she would disobey me.

She slowly lifted her head, and turning to me, she stopped hugging her knees and clenched her fists. She also glared at me and her brows frowned deeply.

"How dare you yell at me, Dylan? Can’t you see that I am scared?!". She yelled at me and was panting fast.

I froze and gritted my teeth.

’Did she just dare yell at you, Dylan?’. Gideon asked me, making me understand that I was not hallucinating.

Indeed, Lucinda yelled at me.

She raised her voice against me and is currently glaring at me with eyes filled with extreme hatred.

I regained myself and glared at her too. ’She must be doing this on purpose to piss me off. Last night, did she secretly regain her consciousness and hear what I said about me wanting her to abort the child in her womb? After all, I am sure that the child isn’t mine! She must be cheating on me. How dare she do that?!’. I thought.

Thinking about how she must have cheated on me made me furious.

How dare she cheat on me without my permission?!

"Lucinda-!". I couldn’t finish talking, and my eyes widened in shock because I sensed a dark energy coming from Lucinda.

Not only that, a dark aura surrounded her body completely.

The colour of her eyes, which were emerald, entirely changed to black, making her look like a soulless being.

"Arghhhhh!!!! I hate everything!!!! I hate you!! And I hate the entire world!". Lucinda screamed.

"Hahaha!!!". When she laughed at me and grinned while still staring at me, I flinched. I have never seen anything like this before.

Her current appearance caused her to look like a demon.

"Is she possessed?". I muttered and took two steps away from her.

’She must be possessed, Dylan! She doesn’t look normal!’. Gideon said to me, and I believed him because of what I was seeing.

The door to the ward was opened, and a nurse came running in. As soon as she saw Lucinda, she gasped in disbelief and fell on the floor like she had seen a ghost.

But she forcefully stood up and ran out of the ward.

In less than a minute, the same nurse returned, but with a doctor and some other nurses.

The same doctor who had attended Lucinda yesterday.

The doctor fearlessly rushed over to the bedside after seeing the state that Lucinda was in.

But before she could even touch Lucinda, Lucinda rose up and stood on the bed. She slightly bent her back and grabbed the doctor’s neck using her left hand, even lifting the doctor off the ground.

Everything happened so fast.

I became completely speechless while the choking sound of the doctor was heard in the whole room.
