I blocked my mind - reading power.

’What should I do? If I don’t take her in as my official lady in waiting, she’s going to end her own life, just like Anastasia did’. I thought.

’How did you know she was going to end her life if you didn’t accept her as your official lady in waiting, Clara? Who told you that?’.

’Have you not already figured out by now that I can read people’s minds, Elektra?’.

’I have figured it out, Clara. But I still do not want to believe it. How is that possible? How?’. Elektra asked me.

’I don’t know how, Elektra, but you have to believe it. I can read people’s minds. That is all you need to know for now’. I replied to her and turned to Valerie.

Valerie’s eyes were red and teary.

’I want to try it. Can I use your mind - reading power whenever I take control of your body, Clara? Sorry, I mean our body. After all, we are one. I should be able to use it too, right?’.

’I don’t know if you would be able to use my mind - reading power, Elektra. But if, by any chance, you are able to use my mind -reading power, don’t you dare use it more than five times a day. If not, we are both going to die’. I told her.

"Valerie, you can’t be my-". I didn’t finish saying the words I wanted to say.

If I reject her as my official lady in waiting, she might go ahead and kill herself. When that happens, I would surely blame myself for her death.

"You can become my official lady in waiting starting from today, Valerie". I said to her, causing a smile to appear on her face.

I announced, "Lady Valerie, you can help me get dressed".

"Sure. Follow me, Alpha". Valerie excitedly said and led me to the bathroom.

After taking my bath, I left the bathroom with Valerie and entered my dressing room with her.

From the collection of clothes I had, Valerie picked out black trousers, a white shirt, and a long coat that was black but was decorated with silver thread.

The clothes she picked out for me suited my taste and also suited my Alpha status.

With Valerie’s assistant, I wore the clothes.

Next, Valerie went to the place where my accessories were kept. She picked out a silver crown, before she returned to my side with it. She put the crown aside and told me to sit.

After I sat on the sofa, she tied my hair into a ponytail, before she carried the silver crown and placed it on top of my head. For the finishing touch, she went to the place where my shoes were kept and took a pair of silver mesh high heels slippers.

She returned and made me wear them. I stood up after that.

Going ahead to stand in front of the large wall mirror, I complimented her, "You did a great job, Lady Valerie".

"I am glad you like it, my Alpha". She said to me and bowed.

That’s right. It’s time for me to issue a decree.

"Arise and follow me to my office, Lady Valerie". I ordered her, and we both left my room together.

Valerie was behind me, while I was in front of her.

We arrived inside my office and I walked towards my desk and sat on my chair.

Valerie stood in front of my desk. I saw her looking around, before she looked at me. I noticed she was curious about something, so I asked her, "What is it?".

"Permission to talk, Alpha. You are supposed to be in the Alpha’s mansion. But why are you still in the Luna’s mansion? Could it be that you miss your mother so much and wish to continue staying in this mansion?". She asked me.

"I do miss my mom". I muttered.

Unknown to Valerie, it was my own mother I missed, not Luna Allegra.

There were some blank scrolls on my desk. I took two of them and opened one of them first.

The scroll was exquisitely designed with gold ink. It is true that the shadows’ pack are extremely rich, but must they make it so obvious to everyone?

I picked up the pen in the cup and used it to write on the scroll.

As I finished writing on the scroll, I took the other scroll and wrote something on it too. I grabbed my seal and stamped it on the edge of both scrolls, before I returned the seal.

I gave both scrolls to Valerie, who collected them from me.

"May I ask what they are for, my Alpha?". Valerie asked me.

"One of the decree scrolls is meant for you, Lady Valerie. It’s a decree officially declaring you as my lady in waiting. As for the second scroll, hand it over to the guards outside. They are to publicly post the royal scroll, so that my citizens can see my decree. From today onwards, after acknowledging my presence by bowing before me, my subjects are allowed to stop bowing without my orders".

"Your wish is my command, Alpha Anastasia. I will do exactly as you ordered". Valerie said to me. She bowed before me and lifted her head on her own without my orders.

She was about to leave my office when I stopped her and I added, "I do miss my mother, Lady Valerie. But that doesn’t mean I should continue staying at the Luna’s mansion. If you return, help me make arrangements and transfer my belongings to the Alpha’s mansion. I will move into the Alpha’s mansion today".

"Of course, Alpha Anastasia". She replied to me, before leaving my office.

"Ha. My to-do list isn’t much anymore". I said to myself and chuckled suddenly.

I am laughing because of that weird egg.

The second Valerie entered my bedroom earlier, the egg disappeared in a flash, and who knows where it has hidden itself?

How funny. The weird egg doesn’t want anyone else except me and Elektra to see it.

"That is actually not my problem right now. I pray it disappears forever and never appears to me again". I said as I stood up from my chair.

I wasn’t hungry and I had spare time. I want to go and find Beta Damien, so that he can start training me.

After today’s training ends, I should check out how many gold mines the shadows’ pack has. I haven’t forgotten about strengthening the shadows’ pack warriors and recruiting young talented werewolves as warriors.
