I arrived inside the grand hall and was stunned to see that the whole place was magnificently arranged.

Indeed, the shadows’ pack is the richest pack. I have seen that for myself today.

A massive golden chandelier was hung on the very tall ceiling. The walls were painted gold and there were chairs and long tables in place.

Also, two massive golden thrones were positioned at the center of the hall, where there was a staircase that had red carpet.

If I am correct, the two thrones belong to the Alpha and his Luna. But since there is no longer a Luna in the shadows’ pack, there should be only one throne up there. I should tell the omegas to get rid of one of them. But other than that, everything was perfect.

’Clara, I thought you were the one who was supposed to organise the grand hall? How come everything is already in place? Who did that?’.

"I don’t care who organized the grand hall for me, Elektra. As long as it’s perfect, it is okay for me. My main focus is on tomorrow. The real deal. I have never hosted a social event before, so I truly hope that I don’t make a fool out of myself tomorrow". I said to her, before I left the grand hall and returned to my mansion, the Luna mansion.

I had decided to stay a little longer in the Luna’s mansion, before I would move into the Alpha mansion after the social event was over.

Upon entering the living room, I saw an omega maid working. She is the same omega maid who helped me find my diamond ring the other day.

I massaged my temples and frowned. I muttered, "Should I get rid of her and the other greedy wolves and replace them with new ones?".

The instant she saw me, she gasped. She clumsily stopped what she was doing and came and knelt down before me. Her forehead was touching the ground as she said to me, "I greet Alpha Anastasia, the chosen child of the moon goddess!".

’The news about me has already reached the mansion? So fast. I wonder if it is going to reach the whole world’s ears’. I thought. I was being sarcastic.

"Stand up". I said to her, but she dared not. "Ha. Here we go". I muttered, trying to conceal my frustrations because I never asked to be the chosen child.

Something came up in my mind, making me mind - link Elektra, ’Is the chosen child of the moon goddess that important, Elektra? What would happen to me after the other werewolf packs arrive tomorrow and find out that I am the chosen child?’.

Not hearing Elektra’s voice, it felt like the whole atmosphere had become stiff.

’Hey, Elektra! Do you know something?! Are you hiding it from me?!’. I mind - linked her for the second time.

’The other werewolf packs might try everything in their power to possess and steal you away from the shadows’ pack when they find out that you are the chosen child of the moon goddess. You see, Clara, not only the shadows’ pack have been waiting for your arrival. After the prophecy came, it was the whole werewolf pack that awaited your arrival’. Elektra told me.

’But, why?!’. I panicked.

’Because they believe that the chosen child would make the shadows’ pack extremely prosperous and undefeatable. I think they would try to take you away so that it would be their own pack that would become undefeatable and prosperous’.

My mouth was slightly open as I breathed in and out, as I was stunned. "No. That can’t happen to me". I said, and hurried out of the mansion. I don’t care. I am leaving this damn pack!

I transformed into my wolf form and stormed out of the mansion by jumping over the wall.

I didn’t bother to use the gate.

I knew the way to the border, making the escape easy for me.

On my way, I totally ignored the werewolves I saw and continued running, even though their eyes were fixed on me. I arrived in the woods.

’Huh? What do you think you are doing, Clara? Are you possibly heading to the border? Don’t tell me you want to leave our territory and run away?! Stop that nonsense idea! Leaving the shadows’ pack territory is dangerous without any escorts!’. Elektra shouted at me, but I was far from listening to her. I knew I would be safe if I arrived in the human city, and that was all that I cared about.

’Ah!’. I had to stop running when a massive black wolf jumped in front of me and blocked my path.

"What do you think you’re doing, Alpha Anastasia?".

I gritted my teeth when I saw that it was Damien. Why won’t he just leave me alone? I don’t need someone with a twisted personality like him to stay in my life or involve himself in my business!

"Mind your business, Beta Damien. Get out of my way". I ordered him, but he didn’t move.

"I won’t mind my business, Alpha. I am officially your Beta Wolf, and it’s my responsibility and duty to make sure you are safe. You are heading to the border. Of course, I will not feel at ease unless I go there with you!".

"My freedom is at stake, Damien! Just because I am the damn chosen child of the moon goddess! If you’re curious to know what I’m doing, fine, I will tell you. I am running away from the shadows’ pack and going to the human city to hide myself! I can’t continue to stay in the shadows’ pack while knowing fully well that the other werewolf packs might kidnap me because I am the chosen child!". I yelled at him and told him everything.

I didn’t even know why I told him everything. Though, I felt free after ranting about it.

"You are truly brainless, Anastasia. I thought you had become sensible. What makes you think you will be safe in the human city? Besides, an order has already been issued by the twelve elders. Anyone who dares to leak out any information about you being the chosen child, will face severe punishment. Also, no one would take you away, not under my watch. Are you rest assured now? Return with me". Damien said to me as he took two steps towards me.

’They did that for me? Being the chosen child of the moon goddess must be so special. But I haven’t forgiven them yet’. I thought, with my eyes fixed on Damien who was awaiting my next reply.
