Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 751: Disciples Vs True Disciples.
On the one hand, the nascent soul patriarchs from upstream are proud of themselves for living upstream, where mana is abundant, and look down on the people of the Five Veins region, including the disciples of the Blood Skull sect, as backward people living in an impoverished corner of the world.
But, on the other hand, they are jealous of the disciples of the Blood Skull sect because the disciples of the Blood Skull sect are the true disciples of their lineage in possession of armaments and who have been carefully raised as opposed to them, the fake disciples of their lineage, who were accepted as disciples of the three ancestors without much screening and were raised without much care.
If the people from upstream are being honest with themselves, they feel inferior to the disciples of the Blood Skull sect because of the lack of armament and their weaker strength.
But even if they don't want to be honest with themselves, Sword Flash, his two mates, and even the three ancestors think that the people from upstream are inferior to the disciples of the Blood Skull sect.
Sword Flash's not-so-flattering opinion about the people from upstream is why he made golden core cultivators from the upstream two-star division commanders, while he made golden core cultivators from the Blood Skull sect three battalion commanders.
Many of the people from upstream complained about this arrangement. The three nascent soul cultivators who would be going to Aurora with the army were the most vocal about their complaints. They didn't like that Arthur would be the highest commander in the army while they would be his subordinates.
They thought that it was disrespectful that a golden core junior got to be their leader and boss. But no matter how they complained, this arrangement was not changed.
The best that was done for them is to promise to rectify this arrangement in the next invasion if they prove to be just as important and useful as their counterparts in the Blood Skull sect. As for the nascent soul cultivators, they were promised a better position only if they performed better than Arthur in the invasion.
No matter how much they didn't like this arrangement, they could only accept it after they sparred with Arthur and other disciples of the Blood Skull sect and lost. It was then that they understood why the three ancestors didn't speak up for them.
Far from speaking up for them, ancestor Bladed Hemlock had even called the people that they brought from upstream their servants, not their disciples. He had said that they created an organization upstream in order to acquire servants to do their bidding.
The people from upstream didn't hear what Bladed Hemlock said about them. But after being put in their place by their counterparts in the Blood Skull sect, they knew to keep quiet during a meeting of the leaders.
Their meeting went on for a long time, but it had to stop because the mothership rose into the air and took off. They paused their conversation in order to pay attention to the landing of the mothership, as it is a very important stage in their invasion.
They watched as the space gate created a spatial tunnel and shrank the mothership into the spatial tunnel. The rank 6 cultivators among them were more perceptive, so they noticed that the space gate had placed a mark on the mothership.
They were also able to guess that the mark is used to locate the mothership and create a spatial tunnel to where it is so that the mothership can use the spatial tunnel to return home.
This made them understand that if someone blocked the space gate from sensing the mark that it had placed on the mothership, or if someone destroyed the mark completely, the space gate would not be able to create a spatial tunnel to retrieve the mothership, and this journey would be a one-way trip.
Their heart tightened because of the implications. They took this danger seriously because they are aware of the existence of beings that could block the perception of the spatial mark and even destroy it.
But after thinking about such powerful beings targeting them, they sighed and decided to give up on thinking of a solution. This is because if a divine transformation cultivator is targeting them, the destruction of a spatial mark will be the least of their concerns.
Such a being would be able to destroy the mothership as soon as it reaches its destination. So there is no use thinking about the interference with the spatial mark.
However, the existence of this problem made them gain a new appreciation for the vetting of the League of World Eaters. Since the league had assured them that there is no seventh rank where they are going, they can relax and not worry about being stranded.
As they watched, they saw that there was a slight problem at the end of the spatial channel because of the interference of the magnetic field of the world of Aurora. The end of the spatial tunnel wobbled and looked as if it was going to collapse.
They were already worried about an interference from a seventh mortal coil being, so this phenomenon made them anxious. They feared that the spatial tunnel would collapse and the mothership within it would be lost in the void.
Fortunately, their fears didn't come to pass and the mothership wasn't destroyed or lost in the void. The mothership was able to safely pass through the spatial tunnel and arrived safely in Aurora.
So as it turned out, they didn't have anything to worry about in regard to the mothership reaching its destination safely. But things became difficult from there on out.
Aurora isn't like Aries in regard to their preparedness for an invasion. The gem people have used Aurora as a staging point to offend many worlds and races, so they know to be ready for an invasion of Aurora at any time.
