Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 730: Finding An Explanation.
The third golden core elder finished his explanation by saying, "And you know Void Claw. He is already capable of killing nascent soul cultivators. So any fight involving Void Claw can never be fair, especially if the fight is two against one."
The weak golden core elder found this explanation to be reasonable. But he was still struggling to believe that Arthur was capable of such a thing. It was still surprising to him that Arthur could participate in a fight of that level.
He for sure isn't capable of fighting someone with a power output of 80C, no matter how injured they are. But no matter how unbelievable it was, it had happened, so he couldn't refute that Arthur was capable of it or say that it was impossible. He had to find a way to believe it.
So he said, "I guess a vessel sigil technique is that powerful, huh? No wonder he was allowed to participate in the campaign while I was asked to stay behind. I wish I had one too."
Then he asked Raging Thunder, "Are you also capable of fighting nascent soul seniors with your Lightning Vessel Sigil technique?"
Raging Thunder snorted and said, "That Sun King wasn't really a nascent soul senior. He only had the brute force to match a nascent cultivator. He lacked the spiritual advantage." "Plus, the best that he could do was fight a nascent soul patriarch at the first transformation of the fifth mortal coil. So he was weak by nascent soul standards."
"He would only be able to fight such a nascent soul patriarch briefly because he doesn't have the advantages of the realm. If a first transformation nascent soul patriarch fought him, they would be able to easily kill him because of the advantage of their nascent soul. They would just obliterate his soul. So he is all brawn and no substance."
He didn't answer the question that he was asked. Instead, he diminished Arthur's achievement by belittling the power of the Sun King.
He is right, of course. If the nascent soul patriarchs were able to enter Aries with their true bodies, the Sun King would have stood no chance.
But being right doesn't mean he could escape scrutiny. No matter what he said, these golden core cultivators were also able to hear what he didn't want to say, and that was that he couldn't fight a nascent soul patriarch.
Not only that, they suspect that Raging Thunder might not even be able to fight the Sun King, who was looking down on them. After all, Raging Thunder never said that he would be able to defeat the Sun King, too, after saying so much.
Their minds swirled with the possibilities of what he said, of which the weak golden core cultivator was the one who was most impacted by the revelation that Raging Thunder couldn't enhance his power with heavenly lightning to the level that Arthur reached.
But while they were thinking various thoughts, the second golden core elder, who had mentioned Arthur's feat of fighting the Sun King to a standstill, noticed something and quickly brought it to their attention.
He said, "Forget about what Arthur did in Aries with the power of his Lightning Vessel Sigil technique and return to the matter at hand. This matter being that Arthur is not enhancing himself with heavenly lightning right now, but is still faster than Raging Thunder."
The third golden core elder realized the severity of the situation, so he said, "That's true. How did his speed reach that level? Is he not using the same lightning as us? Is there some special technique for increasing speed that I don't know about?"
The second golden core elder shook his head and said, "I don't know. But I've heard that Arthur has always been unreasonable and far stronger than his cultivation level. So that might be why he is so fast."
The third golden core elder couldn't believe it. So he asked incredulously, "Are you still about that theory that Arthur has an innate divine ability from some divine blood? That has to be a hoax. No descendant of a divine being would be slumming it here with us in this backwater."
The second golden core elder retorted angrily, "And who are you to know the true thought of divine beings? Why do you think you have the right to know what divine beings can do or want? Is your father also a divine being? If so, why are you also here slumming with us?"
The two of them began to argue. One of them felt that it was an exaggeration to call Arthur the descendant of a divine being, while the other one didn't like the notion that the Five Veins region is a backwater place.
As for the weakest golden core cultivator, he was too numb to talk about anything. He was numb, and his mind was in turmoil because there was no excuse for him to latch on this time around. The fact is that Arthur is stronger than him with or without a vessel sigil technique.
On the other hand, Raging Thunder looked calm, but was secretly thinking to himself that he was lucky that he didn't have to compete with Arthur for anything.
He said to himself, "Fortunately, there are a lot of nascent soul pills, and I've acquired enough contribution points to secure one for myself. All I need now is to be granted the nascent soul pill, and I will go into seclusion immediately. The future generation can compete with him for resources."
Outwardly, he smiled and said to the arguing elders, "Stop arguing. How Arthur gained his strength is not worth fighting each other for yet. Let us first determine how he got strong and see if we can acquire something like that."
The second golden core elder said, "Good suggestion. But how will we know how he got his strength?"
The third golden core replied, "Maybe we should ask him."
