Chapter 692: Playing Dirty.

Arthur asked another question, "Can honor and integrity save one’s life? Can honor prevent invaders from killing them and taking their world?"

His questions made Thor calm down. His anger waned a little bit and said, "That’s true. All is fair in war."

But he still wasn’t going to let the offense go. He gritted his teeth and said, "I can play dirty, too, though. Let’s see who can play dirty the most."

Arthur became solemn when he heard the determination in Thor’s tone. He asked carefully, "Do you mean you want to use that thing?"

Thor was still gritting his teeth as he said in reply, "At this point, I have no choice."

Arthur could only sigh and say, "Things would be so much better if these people allowed their spirit to break and they gave up. At this rate, they will be eradicated."

Thor nodded as he said in agreement, "The stick that won’t bend will eventually break."

Arthur shook his head in pity and said, "What we are doing will also help them. They lack stability and the means to grow stronger. If Ethera takes over this world, at least they will be able to build something resembling a civilization."

The people of Aries fight too much. Even if they don’t fight, the cyclical changing of the climate from one extreme to another is enough to kill most of them when it happens.

If a Vulcan is a Sovereign, the population of Vulcans in the world can swell to a billion. But once the Sun King dies and a Snow Kong becomes the Sovereign, the change of the climate from extreme summer to extreme winter will cause the world to change from being a hot sand desert to being a cold ice desert, which will lead to the death of over 99% of the Vulcans.

So only 10 million Vulcans will survive the regime change and the climate change. Then, over the period of 500 years that the Snoe King remains alive, the 10 million Vulcans will become 1 million in number.

On the other side, the Tundra people will balloon in number to become 1 billion. But they, too, will suffer a cataclysmic event that will decimate them.

All in all, the total population of Aries swings between 1 billion and 10 million. This constant decimation and the extreme changes in their climate make it very difficult for them to build anything permanent or make sustainable progress in terms of technology.

The people of Aries are at the Stone Age in terms of technology. They don’t use metal tools and rely more on their physical prowess to get things done.

The Ethera tree will change the status quo if it becomes the controller of this world. The world will prosper thanks to mana, and everyone will be able to grow stronger and develop a sustainable civilization.

The Blood Skull army has informed their enemies of these benefits, but the inhabitants of the world refuse to accept their help. He thought they were barbarians refusing technology, which reminded him of what the British Empire said about the colonies they conquered.

When he thought of this, Arthur chuckled and said, "We are indeed bringing the light of technology and civilization to this world, but just like the British people, we are also doing this for our selfish reasons."

He didn’t think there was anything wrong about saving the world for selfish reasons. So he can only blame the blind, ignorant, and stubborn barbarians who are refusing to accept their goodwill, which has led to the Blood Skull army being forced to use a biological weapon.

The biological weapon is what Thor is about to use next. It was developed by Lady Evergreen and is said to be sinister, which is why Thor has been resistant to using it. But the shameless interference of the world spirit has given him no choice.

While Thor was getting the biological weapon ready, he also urged the golem factory to crank up their productivity to the maximum level.

Of course, their enemies aren’t going to wait for them to be ready. The defenders swarmed forward now that there were no golems or puppets in the army to fight them.

Seeing this, Arthur had to step forward to fight. He brought the soldiers of the sixth division with him to fight.

They didn’t make the mistake of advancing too far from the mobile fortress like the golems did. They stuck very close to the front of the mobile fortress, where the domain of the Ethera tree has already extended to, so that the world spirit won’t conjure another hurricane to wipe them out.

This kind of arrangement puts them on the back foot, though. The mobile fortress has to slow down in order not to run over the soldiers of the sixth division. This inevitably slowed down their advancement.

Another problem with this situation was that the soldiers of the Sixth Division were only a thousand in number. This is far too small to repel the enemy army of 900,000 soldiers.

The only saving grace is that their job is to stall the enemies and prevent them from getting to the mobile fortress. As long as they can only stand by for the golems to take over, their job will be a success.

In order to achieve this goal, they will have the constant support of firepower, and the biological weapon will be deployed soon. So their job is not that difficult.

Arthur stood on the frontline as he was the only one at the fourth mortal coil. He mainly used the Lightning Net spell and the Wood Army spell for offensive and support.

The Lightning Net spell formed a large net around him. The net is blue and highly volatile. Any weak enemy that enters the range of the spell is reduced to ashes.

The formation breaker stood above his head like a halo of light. It used the analysis program that is usually used to inspect runes and formations as an energy scanner for identifying enemies too strong for him to handle.
