Moonquest: A Journey To The Stars-Chapter 35: Those Who Aimed For The Stars
Chapter 35: Those Who Aimed For The Stars
"You think you're the first to aim for the stars? There were many who did, but all mysteriously perished in freak accidents. Some blew up trying to build airships to reach the sky, some crashed and burned while trying to fly to the sky, while others got labelled as heretics, and burned in stakes. But the most famous of all were the Goblins..."
Here, Titus shakes his head, gazing into the far distance. Sighing he continued on, much to the expectations of the duo.
"Haah...Well, long before I was born, there was a kingdom—a kingdom filled with the brightest of minds, and the greatest of legends.
That was the Gorulan Kingdom, home of the Goblins.
They had creations that spanned epochs. They created engines that power their vast fortress citadels, roaming around the world, researching, collecting...
Inventing
Their greatest achievement, however, was uncovering technology from before the Great War. Technology that was said to have rivalled the Gods themselves. Despite their small stature, they were valiant, willing to any length to gain the smallest smidgen of knowledge.
However, they broke the taboo...
Seeing that they had accomplished everything that was goblinly possible, they aimed for the stars. They built enormous airships, capable of sailing the skies. But before they could use it, the entire kingdom was annihilated.
Records mentioning the disaster have all been wiped out, but from the few traces left, the humans had surmised that Illumia and Nyxis sent their angels, burning the entire civilization to the ground.
From then on, no one aimed for the skies anymore..."
Sighing, Titus looked at the dwarf and elf once more, eyes now filled with pity and despair. "Kid, for your sake, I'll give some advice: stop thinking about this foolish dream of yours, and return to being the humble little blacksmith you were supposed to be. Don't throw your life away for the sake of this foolish dream..."
Upon hearing this devastating news, the satchel fell from his hands. Seeing that Simon had gone catatonic, Duncan gave one last stinkeye to Titus, before dragging Simon back.
Oh, I wish I could help if only I still had my strength...

Marching down the valley, Orkanus, still munching, threw the human leg from his hands. Too fucking greasy, that merchant lived like a pig!
Wiping his mouth, he looked back, gazing at his men, kitted with rusty iron plates and wielding worn-out swords.
Once we conquer that city, hehehe...
Suddenly, Urk raised his hands. "Boss...how...far...left?"
Feeling annoyed, Orkanus, very mad, grabbed the Urk's head, smashing it into pieces. Despite blue and red matter sealing everywhere, no one fainted. On the contrary, they all began cheering, some even going as close as possible to snatch a few pieces of the brain.

Disgusted with their actions, Orkanus, quelling the nauseous feeling within, addressed his men. "Soon, my dear brothers, soon. Soon, we'll destroy this wretched gate, soon, we'll destroy the wretched guards, and soon, we'll kill the wretched lord, taking back what is rightfully ours! Forwards!"
Seeing that their lord had reassured them once more, the Urks began marching, their pace faster than before.
Hehehe...stupid cunts. Dumb brutes such as you do not deserve to have those women, only me! Once I get the city, He wi- wait, what do we have here...
From the far distance, Orkanos saw an elf, dragging a very disorientated dwarf alongside him.
Ooooohhh, look what we have here! Some fine snacks have arrived, and they're not that far off. A small detour should not take that long...
Licking his lips, Orkanus quietly edged his way forward, creeping closer and closer towards the unsuspecting duo...
