After learning from the Ancient Tree hunters that the current abnormalities of the Ancient Tree were caused by the Sunblaze Dragon, Darren first frowned professionally, then immediately reacted.

The Ancient Tree was the Sunblaze Dragon's nest; it would not casually damage the ecological environment here. Therefore, there was no need to measure what was happening here using past experience.

Immediately afterward, Darren reacted again, and excitement surged in his heart.

Metamorphosis was good!

The stronger the Sunblaze Dragon's metamorphosis became, the higher the upper limit of his Blazing Wing would be—this was a good thing!!

With such feelings, Darren and Mia passed through one heavily guarded area after another and finally returned to the Gathering Hub.

However, when they heard other differing conjectures in the Gathering Hub, they could not help but join in for a time. Infected by this atmosphere, their hearts also began to grow tense and uneasy.

It was only after the Ancient Wyverian girl sent someone to look for Darren that this mood eased somewhat.

After a round of praise, the Ancient Wyverian girl handed over the rewards for two missions to Darren in the form of a commendation, and emphasized that this was a boon specially granted by the god.

Looking at the slight upward curve at the corner of Darren's mouth, it was unclear whether it was because he had obtained the materials he wanted, or because he had received the recognition of the Ancient Wyverian girl—or rather, the recognition of Logan whom the Ancient Wyverian girl represented.

Most likely, it was both.

After all, even in this world where there was relatively little intrigue among humans and relationships between people were comparatively simple, the allure of power still existed.

Even the most top-tier hunters were still only hunters.

And Logan was the "god" of the largest native power of the New World!

Watching the figure completely disappear at the entrance of the temple, the Ancient Wyverian girl took out a small notebook from the side. It was the task Logan had previously assigned to her.

[Sapphire Star Binding Investment Plan (crossed out)!]

"God, are you well?" The Ancient Wyverian girl hugged the small notebook tightly, her low voice revealing a trace of worry.

...

Time passed little by little like this.

Over on the Ancient Tree's side, as time went on, things also seemed to no longer be so tense.

A group of Fifth Fleet hunters, due to all sorts of reasons, were conscripted to the Wildspire Waste. It was said that traces of Zorah Magdaros's movements had been found; it seemed He intended to pass through the Great Ravine and head deeper into the New World.

Therefore, all of these hunters were sent over to conduct on-site investigations. Once it was confirmed, they would open up a safe materials transport route in the shortest possible time.

Of course, this kind of work was all done by ordinary hunters. The hunters of the recommended group were still diligently carrying out various high-difficulty quests; while coordinating with the various institutions of Astera to conduct investigations, they also took the opportunity to find a way to get themselves a better set of equipment.

After all, although what they wore was a Radiant Fire Wyvern set, in terms of equipment level, it was only a High Rank set. The materials used were ordinary ore and Radiant Fire Wyvern naturally shed materials, plus the core materials of ordinary Fire Wyverns, and that was all it was forged from.

...

Thump! Thump!

This day, deep within that crystal-sealed nest, that giant egg—radiating high heat and flickering with Terastal flowing light—suddenly transmitted a powerful heartbeat.

The Terastal crystals around it, along with this heartbeat, very rhythmically flashed arcs of light, one after another.

Very quickly, the heartbeat began to intensify. These dangerous Terastal crystals, with the giant egg as the center, had the energy within them rapidly drawn away. One crystal after another collapsed and turned into fine powder that scattered down.

Along with a crisp sound, like a young dragon breaking out of its shell, a fissure began to split open on the surface of the giant egg.

As large amounts of life energy surged into the egg through that fissure, like the prelude to some event, amid a series of nonstop crackling, shattering sounds, the giant egg split open with countless cracks.

An ice-blue, high-temperature light burst out from the cracks and fell on the Terastal crystals on the surrounding walls; it actually forcibly melted the crystals just like that.

Bang!

Amid a gust of wind, large amounts of Terastal shell that had lost their energy exploded with a loud boom, shooting in all directions.

A thick Elder Dragon pressure instantly blanketed the entire Ancient Tree region.

Monsters as sensitive and timid as Kulu-Ya-Ku, caught off guard for a moment, had their legs go soft. The wyvern egg it did not know where it had stolen from fell to the ground just like that. The hard yet fragile eggshell shattered, and the fishy stench, along with some egg yolk that already contained a partially formed embryo, spilled out onto the weeds.

Yet the Kulu-Ya-Ku, which had always regarded eggs as its life, could not care about that at all at this moment. Driven by instinct, it only wanted to hurry and get far away from the center of this pressure. However, its legs simply would not obey, as if it had osteoporosis, trembling as it stepped forward.

"Gah!!" (Dead legs, move already, gah!!)

Off to the side, upon hearing the shrill cries of the Kulu-Ya-Ku, the Aptonoth that heard it began trembling even more violently. They buried their heads deep into the grass piles, as if doing so could conceal their very existence.

This was only a small snapshot. The entire Ancient Tree region had been thrown into utter chaos by this pressure.

Meanwhile, within the Elder's Recess, the Ahtal-Ka there turned its beautiful compound eyes slightly, gazing thoughtfully in the direction of the Ancient Tree.

It had not expected Logan's growth rate to be this fast. It seemed it was time to find an opportunity to update the "figurines" in its collection again!

...

Within an Ancient Tree cave, Logan—whose entire body had already transformed into a crystal-like ice-blue color—slowly opened His eyes. He spread His wings and stretched them slightly, as if loosening up, and the stiffness from maintaining a single posture for a long time rapidly faded away.

The extremely regular ice-blue scales covering His body, as He breathed and came into contact with the outside air, quickly solidified, transforming from a faintly illusory texture back into solid form, like pieces of sapphire inlaid across His body.

Above His head, a pair of massive, curled horns interwoven with silver and blue sat like a crown. The spines at the corners of His mouth had fully crystallized, making Logan's originally somewhat lean face appear far more imposing.

At each joint and along every spine, as Terastal energy surged, a crystalline layer of armor formed over them. Especially at His chest, a sharply contoured "breastplate" locked firmly into place, protecting it.

His trident-like tail swayed slightly, and those extremely hard Terastal crystals that were notoriously difficult to mine were effortlessly smashed to pieces by Him.

A more solid and powerful body, life energy within Him so vast that even Logan Himself could not estimate it, coupled with a new Terastal energy that had already been successfully localized and differentiated from fire-aspected energy, gave Logan a feeling of having broken free from the world's constraints—of finally being able to act without restraint.

Of course, Logan, who had already undergone multiple metamorphoses and possessed sufficient mental discipline tempered by the passage of time, quickly suppressed such impulses.

He knew very clearly that this was merely an illusion brought about by the excessively high tier of Terastal energy, combined with the explosive increase in His own strength.

His power was indeed formidable, but it was still far from reaching a level where He could transcend His ecological niche.

As Logan calmed down and was just about to completely absorb the Terastal energy within the nest, His body—jointly reshaped by Terastal energy and life energy, allowing energy to flow freely within, with even excess energy perfectly controllable—suddenly gave rise to a new idea.

By making use of the characteristics of Terastal energy, it seemed this could be done!!
