Mommy Villainess-Chapter 405: Omnipresent
Chapter 405: Omnipresent
IT HAPPENED so fast that Tilly only came to her senses when Kiho yelled her name in a panic.
Unfortunately, it was already too late.
The next thing she knew, the Devil already had his hand wrapped around her neck.
[I was careless!]
Tilly couldn’t breathe because the Devil was strangling her.
The blasted creature was so strong despite possessing the body of an old woman.
And, worst of all...
[The Devil is omnipresent!]
"You have the scent of the Sun God, young lady," the Devil said, obviously impressed. "And, yet, you’re a human."
Tilly grabbed the Devil’s arms. "Let. Go."
The Devil laughed. "Interesting— a human capable of wielding the power of gods."
Tsk.
Tilly hated how she couldn’t use her powers in that dimension, and yet she could still feel pain.
Fortunately, the Devil loosened up his grip around her neck.
The bastard didn’t completely let her go, though.
[I have to free myself or else Kiho would cry!]
Tilly could see Kiho banging on the glass that separated her from him.
It must be the Devil’s work.
Seeing as she couldn’t hear Kiho’s voice even though he was obviously yelling her name, it was clear that she was inside a sound-proof barrier that the Devil created.
"You were born after I was sealed, so I didn’t get to meet you in the past."
Tilly raised an eyebrow at what the Devil said. "Did you stop being an omnipresent when you got sealed?"
"Well, you can say that."
"What is it then?"
"I went into a deep slumber."
Huh?
[He just slept?]
"If you just slept, then does it mean you trust my former father-in-law to do the job well?"
"Perhaps?"
Argh.
"It seems like you’re not in the mood to converse with me, so why don’t you just let me go and let us finish watching the past unfold?"
"I’m sorry, young lady, but the show is over."
"Why?"
"Because as someone who has the power of the gods, I cannot allow you to witness how Kyro succeeded in our plan," the Devil said, his hand gripping Tilly’s neck again tightly. "Hence, let me send you back—"
The Devil didn’t get to finish what he was saying because the Devil’s arm was suddenly cut-off.
Tilly was surprised, by she was even more surprised when she found herself in Kiho’s arms.
Oh, it was her husband’s handiwork.
But...
"How?" Tilly asked, amused. And then she looked up at Kiho. "How did you use your..."
Oh.
She trailed off when she saw the murderous look on her husband’s face.
Ah.
Kiho’s anger probably what propelled him to summon his strength even though they shouldn’t have been able to do so.
It was something Tilly wasn’t able to do.
[Unlike me, Kiho is a god. He probably has abilities that I don’t possess. It triggers my competitive spirit, but I’m not mad.]
"How dare you lay a hand on my wife?" Kiho growled angrily. "You bastard Devil."
Oh, hot.
Tilly knew that they were in a serious situation, but she couldn’t help but swoon for her husband.
[Kiho rarely curses but when he does, it makes him 10x hotter.]
"Alright, I won’t lay a hand on your wife again," the Devil said. "So, let’s talk— just the two of us."
Tilly was about to complain, but she felt an invisible force grab her by the back of her neck...
... and that unseen force threw her away from her husband.
"No!" Kiho yelled while running after her. "Tilly!"
Tilly wanted to extend her hand to her husband, but her consciousness slowly faded away...
***
"WAKE UP, TILLY!"
Oh.
That loud voice really woke her up.
And when Tilly opened her eyes...
"How are you, my dear daughter-in-law?"
It was the White Snake in her, well, white snake form.
The White Snake was only a breath away from Tilly’s face. If it wasn’t for the pinkish light around its body, the White Snake could have bitten her already.
There was a problem, though.
The person who was protecting Tilly was currently being crushed to death by the White Snake.
[Luna...!]
Tilly cursed under her breath, and then she grabbed the White Snake by its "neck" and tried to burn the head to ashes.
However, the White Snake already disappeared.
Tilly wanted to check on Luna, but she remembered that Kiho was next to her— still asleep. Hence, she made sure that the White Snake wouldn’t be able to touch or grab her husband by putting a barrier around him.
But, of course, she checked on Luna while doing so.
"Luna, are you okay?"
"I’m alright, Tilly," Luna said, taking a deep breath and coughing for a bit. "Thank you for saving me."
"No, I should be the one saying that—"
"My dear daughter-in-law."
Tilly stopped talking when she heard the familiar voice.
When she turned in the direction where the voice came from, she felt a pang in her chest.
It was Yumi in her original human form.
[Yes— the Yumi that went through a lot.]
"Tilly, I’ll send you and Lord Kiho to a different place," Luna said while standing in front of her. "Leave the White Snake to me."
"No, Luna— I need to talk to her," Tilly said, getting up. "Please take care of my husband in the meantime."
Luna looked confused, but she didn’t question Tilly’s decision and just simply stepped aside.
[Thank you, Luna.]
Tilly gently patted Luna’s shoulder before she walked past her to face Yumi properly.
"It’s been a while, Yumi."
"You recognize this skin," Yumi said, touching her face with her hand. "It seems like I’ve succeeded in showing you the past."
"So, it was you."
Of course, Tilly already knew that.
The past that unfolded before her and Kiho only involved Yumi and Kyro, after all.
"Why did you show me the past?" Tilly asked carefully. "What were you hoping to achieve?"
"Kyro is giving you one last chance, my dear daughter-in-law. If you’ve seen the past, then you must have come to understand the choices that my husband and I made," Yumi said, extending her hand to Tilly. "Come to our side— you and your family."
