Mommy Alert! The CEO Daddy Won't Stop Courting-Chapter 516: Dying for Her (2)
But he couldn’t let Adrian Davies do that.
Because during the time Melody was poisoned and delirious, he had witnessed with his own eyes her feelings for Adrian Davies...
However, just as Mark thought, faced with Virgil Davies’ unreasonable demands, the clone agreed without even thinking, "Fine, I’ll die, as long as you bring out the antidote!"
Remembering the way Melody looked when poisoned, it felt like his heart was on fire.
He could face death without batting an eye, but he couldn’t bear seeing Melody suffer such pain and torment again.
He could die, but would Virgil Davies hand over the antidote after his death?
The clone looked at Virgil Davies and spoke coldly, "If I die, what if you don’t hand over the antidote?"
Virgil Davies laughed, "Don’t worry, I’ve split the antidote into two parts, hidden in different places. I can give you half first, and after you die, I’ll hand over the other half."
Upon hearing Virgil Davies’ words, the clone replied solemnly, "Alright."
He didn’t want to wait any longer, looking at Virgil Davies, he spoke coldly, "Hand over the half of the antidote you mentioned now."
Virgil Davies looked at Mark, "I can give you the antidote, but have him and his people all retreat from here! Otherwise, once I hand over the antidote, how can I ensure I won’t be killed by you all!"
The clone looked at Mark, "Take your people and leave!"
Mark, "..."
He should refuse, but he couldn’t.
After all, if he didn’t do this, given Virgil Davies’ suspicious nature, he would certainly not hand over Melody’s antidote.
In the end, Mark looked at the international police inside the house and gave the order solemnly, "Retreat!"
Virgil Davies looked at Mark, threatening, "Kaleb, don’t try any tricks, or you’ll destroy Melody Parker’s only hope to live!"
It had to be said, Virgil Davies’ threat was very effective.
Melody Parker’s only hope now was exchanged for Adrian Davies’ death; he didn’t dare to take even the slightest risk.
Mark gave Virgil Davies a cold look and left without saying a word, taking his people with him.
They withdrew from the villa, moving far away from there.
After leaving the villa, Mark followed Virgil Davies’ instructions and had all the international police withdraw from there.
But that was all.
He himself stayed far away in the forest, using binoculars to monitor every move inside the villa.
After Mark’s people left, the clone looked at Virgil Davies, his voice icy cold asking, "Is it okay now?"
Virgil Davies laughed, "Of course."
Virgil Davies hobbled along with the clone, leaving the room where he was detained, and went to the side of three trees inside the villa. From the roots of the middle tree, he dug out a box, within which indeed was half of the antidote.
Holding that half of the antidote, Virgil Davies looked bloodthirstily at the clone, "This is the half of the antidote, now can you go die?"
"Once I confirm the authenticity of this half of the antidote, I will naturally die." The clone spoke coldly, directly taking the half of the pill from Virgil Davies’ hand.
Virgil Davies let the clone act, a sinister smile on his dark face, "You can go ahead and test it, I’m waiting for you to die. If you don’t die, without that half of the antidote, Melody Parker will die too."
"If this half of the antidote isn’t real, I will make you regret ever living in this world!" The clone glared fiercely at Virgil Davies, his voice cold and threatening not to miss a single expression.
Virgil Davies laughed, "Relax, I have no grudges against the beauty. And with the power of the Davies Group and Nightfall, I could take your life, so I’m even less likely to give a fake antidote."
He did want to give a fake antidote, preferably one that could control Melody Parker again, but he had to have the ability to do so.
Fortunately, he had already made arrangements, splitting the antidote into two parts. Now he wouldn’t be so passive.
The clone believed Virgil Davies’ words.
He took that half of the pill and entered the bedroom where Melody Parker had been placed before.
"Keep an eye on him!" He instructed Ralph Carter, telling him to watch Virgil Davies, then the clone walked toward Melody Parker.
He carefully fed that half of the pill into Melody Parker’s mouth, sitting there anxiously waiting...
Even though he believed Virgil Davies’ words, trusting that under such circumstances, it was impossible for Virgil Davies to use a fake antidote to deceive him, he was still very worried when it concerned Melody Parker.
A minute passed, two minutes passed... Melody Parker showed no abnormalities, and her breathing became more steady and powerful.
Virgil Davies looked at the clone, unable to wait, "I told you, I wouldn’t deceive you. Now, shouldn’t you fulfill your promise?"
The clone didn’t speak.
He looked at the girl lying there, her face slowly regaining a rosy hue, and her breathing not as labored as before, it must surely be the antidote.
Melody, as long as you can live, it doesn’t matter if I die.
He looked deeply at Melody Parker, leaned down to press a deep kiss on her lips that were slowly gaining color, and softly said, "Melody, I love you, just as he does."
With that, he resolutely stood up and left, walking to Ralph Carter, solemnly instructing, "Take good care of her!"
After speaking, he looked at Virgil Davies, "Let’s go, to get the other half of the antidote."
Virgil Davies stood still, "As agreed, the other half of the antidote comes at the cost of your life!"
The clone turned, his eyes coldly fixating on Virgil Davies, "Bring out that half of the antidote, and I’ll die immediately!"
Virgil Davies grinned wickedly, "I’ve shown sincerity, where is yours?"
Ralph Carter was astonished.
He never expected that, to obtain Melody Parker’s antidote, Adrian Davies would agree to such unreasonable terms from Virgil Davies.
Even more surprising was that, as soon as Virgil Davies finished speaking, the clone pulled out a gun and shot himself in the chest without even a flinch.
Then, weakly but still with an undiminished aura, he looked at Virgil Davies, his voice icy cold, "Can you hand over that half of the antidote now?"
Virgil Davies laughed, "Not enough, how can such sincerity exchange for such a precious half of the antidote?"
His eyes were sinister, filled with intense hatred, as he looked at the clone and said word by word, "Only if you die will I hand over the other half of the antidote!"
"Fine." The clone replied solemnly, his eyes blurry as he looked at the woman on the bed.
He aimed the gun at his own heart, then looked at Ralph Carter coldly instructing, "After I die, if he refuses to hand over the other half of the antidote, kill him..."
At this moment, after taking half the antidote, Melody Parker slowly awakened.
In fact, she had woken up long ago, shortly after the clone fed her the antidote.
From that moment, she’d been able to hear everything the clone and Virgil Davies said, but her eyelids were heavy, unable to open them, and she couldn’t speak.
