MMORPG: War God, You are Invincible Again-Chapter 1359 - 335: Journey to Baihe Province
"Then shall the two of us set off?" Lu Hong raised an eyebrow. "If we manage to kill those Ancient Titans, the power nurtured by their resources might even be harnessed by us."
Qin Hong pondered for a moment and then spoke, "Let’s have Qin Long Guards follow from behind. You and I will address this matter first. If those who submit to Ancient Titans refuse to surrender, killing them will save us trouble. With Da Qin at war, I don’t want to see any unrest at the rear."
"Alright, let’s move out then!"
No time to delay, two beams of light shot out from the Imperial City, heading straight west towards Tianlang Domain. After about an hour, Qin Long Guards, following orders, began deploying troops, sending tens of thousands of soldiers galloping from the Qin Long Guard camp in the southern outskirts of the Imperial City.
The two Martial Gods traveled with all their might, crossing half of the Rongtian Domain in less than a day, arriving at the border of Tianlang Domain. Of course, this place could no longer be called Tianlang Domain since Qin Hong divided it into three provinces, with Clan Leaders from Tianlang Territory acting as Provincial Governors.
"When the Hidden Guard was gathering intelligence, the Baihe District administrator gave quite a bit of useful information. They should be one of us. We can seek some answers from them first."
Qin Hong led Lu Hong directly to Baihe Xing City, which was established by Qin Hong’s decree after the founding of Da Qin to act as a bridge between Tianlang Domain and Rongtian Western Battle Zone, and serve as the primary city within Baihe District Province.
The Baihe District administrator lived there, handling all affairs, big and small, of Baihe District.
Although Qin Hong was large in stature, the height of the Dark Continent’s populace had continuously increased, making Qin Hong’s physique comparable to the height difference between adults and elementary school students. New city plans adhered to templates taller than Qin Hong to adapt to the evolving physical attributes of the Dark Continent’s inhabitants.
Hence, Qin Hong’s entry into the city didn’t attract significant attention. Although many were indeed surprised by such a tall Titan.
Around them, people’s heights kept changing; suddenly encountering someone exceedingly tall wasn’t a rare event, just somewhat abrupt.
However, Qin Hong’s height made the people of Baihe District aware that he was certainly not to be provoked, for height translated into a significant increase in power.
Upon entering Baihe Xing City, the two proceeded directly to the City Lord Mansion.
"Halt—! The City Lord Mansion is a restricted area; please refrain from approaching casually!" The soldiers blocked their path, yet their tone carried a hint of respect, unable to help it due to Qin Hong’s towering height, inciting some intimidation among the guards.
Qin Hong casually tossed out a Token, "Deliver this to Mr. Su; he will receive me."
The soldier examined the Token Qin Hong had thrown, discovering no inscriptions on it, only a carved dragon, the entire Token black in hue, imparting an extreme solemnity.
The soldier dared not show neglect, hurriedly bowed, and entered the City Lord Mansion quickly.
After a short while, Baihe District Provincial Governor Su Wei’an hurriedly emerged, and upon seeing Qin Hong, decisively slid forward to kneel before Qin Hong, holding the Token with both hands, "Your servant greets Your Majesty!"
The surrounding soldiers were instantly stunned upon hearing the term "Your Majesty," quickly realizing and prostrating themselves, "Greetings to Your Majesty!"
"Rise, all of you!" Qin Hong retrieved the Token and, with Lu Hong, stepped into the City Lord Mansion. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Su Wei’an stood and instructed the soldiers surrounding him, "Today’s events are strictly confidential; reveal them to no one, or face the extermination of your family!"
"Yes, sir!"
The soldiers promptly acquiesced.
Su Wei’an then turned to follow Qin Hong.
The three proceeded directly to the backyard, where Qin Hong finally spoke, "Have any Ancient Titans appeared in Baihe Province?"
Upon hearing this, Su Wei’an already understood the purpose of Qin Hong’s visit and quickly responded, "Reporting to Your Majesty, after thorough investigation, I have compiled a dossier on the sightings and traces of Ancient Titans within Baihe Province and nearby familial factions, with my own deductions. I was initially planning to dispatch it speedily to the Imperial City via Hidden Guard, but I didn’t expect Your Majesty would personally visit, putting me to shame!"
Regarding Su Wei’an’s humility, Qin Hong nodded, "You’ve done very well indeed."
Su Wei’an retrieved the meticulously recorded dossier from his sleeve and respectfully presented it to Qin Hong, "Please inspect it, Your Majesty."
"Alright." Qin Hong accepted the document and began swiftly browsing through it.
Upon finishing, he handed it to Lu Hong.
Lu Hong opened it, noticing detailed records of dates, locations, and individuals who observed Ancient Titans and their outfit characteristics. Nearby familial forces within a ten-mile radius were clearly marked, easily comprehensible.
The records showed that Baihe Province alone had sightings of four differently dressed Ancient Titans. Considering only Baihe Province, it’s unknown how many Ancient Titans might be concealed in the remaining provinces.
In any case, the completion of this task by Su Wei’an was commendable.
Qin Hong expressed satisfaction, "Su Wei’an."
Summoned by Qin Hong, Su Wei’an immediately bowed in respect, "Your servant is here!"
"You’ve done exceptionally well with this task. I’ll leave a spot for you at the central command, but not now. Ever since Tianlang Domain was restructured into three provinces, it has remained dissonant with Da Qin, considering itself play emperors due to geographical distance from Da Qin’s central command. I’ve observed your capability and astuteness today; I hope you shall govern the three provinces until they pledge allegiance. Once you’ve selected a suitable successor, then come to the central command."
Qin Hong’s statement essentially outlined Su Wei’an’s political path.
Before long, Qin Hong may draft official documents to appoint Su Wei’an as the Governor of Three Provinces, overseeing everything, subsequently entering the Imperial City central command, becoming a paramount minister among the Three Ministers and Nine Ministers, wielding monumental power of Da Qin.
This marks the pinnacle, ascending beyond it implies claiming the throne.
Thus, Qin Hong offered Su Wei’an a grand gesture economically straightforward with no pretense.
Su Wei’an was understandably thrilled, "I vow to not disappoint Your Majesty’s trust!"
Qin Hong nodded, and then urged, "Keep my visit strictly confidential. Continue your duties diligently. Should you discover Ancient Titans, report to the Hidden Guard immediately."
Concluding his words, Qin Hong signaled to Lu Hong, and the two strode away.
To avoid arousing curiosity, Su Wei’an escorted Qin Hong only to the entrance of the City Lord Mansion.
"Your servant Su Wei’an respectfully bids farewell to Your Majesty!"
Departing from Baihe Xing City, Qin Hong and Lu Hong set off towards the locations recorded by their counterpart to seek traces of Ancient Titans.
However, they apparently came empty-handed.
Though there were traces of Titans in the vicinity, they had vanished long ago.
Subsequently, Qin Hong and Lu Hong traversed all the sites where Titan sightings were noted within Baihe Province, and they did uncover something.
They stumbled upon a small suburb posting notices for new soldier recruitment.
These notices falsely claimed Qin Hong’s authority, purportedly for Da Qin’s expansion, brazenly recruiting soldiers for personal gain.
Without hesitation, the two ordered Hidden Guards to mark the suburb. Within half a month, the Qin Long Guards would storm through, and those minor clans supporting the Ancient Titans would be obliterated.
Until the Qin Long Guards arrived, Qin Hong and Lu Hong remained in hiding, awaiting the arrival of Ancient Titans.
Three days later, massive figures emerged from behind the mountains, the Ancient Titans manifesting suddenly from nowhere.
Lu Hong and Qin Hong sensed their presence instantly.
Yet, what astonished them was the manner in which the Ancient Titans appeared, seemingly utilizing space crossing.
Lu Hong looked to Qin Hong inquisitively, "Have you witnessed Titans possessing such skills in the Thirteen Domains?"
Qin Hong shook his head, "Never seen this; perhaps some means devised by their respective Laws."
Though Qin Hong speculated, Lu Hong rejected, "Impossible. To traverse space, it must be through Supreme Law of Space Law. Among your Titan Clan, only Nelothus mastered the Space Law; unless Nelothus perishes, no Titan can command such Laws."
