Blaze looked at the objectives. Half amazed, half stupefied.
While he did want to increase his stamina, looking at the task… It reminded him of a certain bald superhero.
Even the stream was laughing out loud, screaming that hero's name, pouring in donations as much as possible.
"Blaze! Come back! Finish this bonus quest first. G, would you go forward next?" Ezekiel shouted from a distance. Blaze nodded in excitement before he started training his stamina.
G looked at Blaze coming near the party and immediately started his push-up streak. Even though the form was bad, G quietly observed Blaze to fail almost all of his push-ups from the very start.
It was only about a dozen push-ups later that Blaze tried and tested to find out the correct way to do push-ups and then continued doing so.
"This is what you should do in real life, too. It is the best way," Ezekiel added, confirming everyone's doubts about it. Two of the three, that is, G and Raven, already knew about this. There were still a few minor improvements they could learn, but overall, their own form was good enough.
But for others, especially Link and Trisha, and even Blaze, it opened up a whole new world. They were really excited to learn these forms, and somehow were even tempted to challenge that man, hoping to get a quest from him.
Though it was still G's turn.
"Can I do it from a distance? Or do I need to get into the circle?" G asked, looking at Ezekiel. Ezekiel pondered it before answering,
"I don't think it really matters."
G nodded before preparing his bow as he looked at that man. He was currently sitting on the yellowish grass while polishing his rapier with a handkerchief.
-Whoosh!
The arrow left the bow, aimed straight at that man's head.
-Clank!
Which was easily parried by that man, who looked at G and said,
"Boy, you are lucky that I cannot get out of here."
That man laughed.
Yet, the air around him was cold. Freezing. His eyes carefully observed G, as if reading his entire self, before he slowly relaxed and then continued doing whatever he was doing.
G then put down his bow and turned to Ezekiel,
"I don't think I should continue."
The attack was fast. Almost rivalling that of a bullet.
Yet, it was parried.
He isn't someone that can be defeated with what I have in my arsenal. Perhaps if I had a gun. G reached a conclusion with a single exchange. The opponent was not someone he could take out on his own. At least not now.
Ezekiel looked at him for a few seconds before he commanded again," G. Attack him with everything you have."
G sighed before nodding and preparing his bow again. This time, he loaded one of the silver arrows and added an explosion enchant on it, before pulling the string with all his might.
-Whoosh!!
The arrow, left, once again aimed at that man, before reaching closer to him and then exploding like a grenade.
-BOOM!!!
-5HP
[9995/10,000 HP]
"Cough Cough," the voice of that man echoed behind the smoke as he waved in front of him, slowly clearing the dusty black air.
"Man, I even intimidated you. You are kind of brave, you know that? I already hate you," he added with a slight glare before losing all interest once again.
"But I must say that I applaud your bravery. You are skilled in your arts. Albeit extremely badly skilled, but nonetheless, skilled," that man added, making G somewhat glare at him.
"Whoa! You are scaring me, kid. Don't look at me like that. I am just an old man, you know?" A slight sarcastic remark before a melancholic look appeared on his face. He looked at G for a brief moment before turning to Blaze, who was still not done with his push-ups.
"You kids remind me of my younger days when I first joined the temple. Rough days, but good days," he chuckled. Looked at G, and then continued,
"There was a guy amongst us. An elder who also joined the youngsters. Though the oldest amongst us, I must say that he was the bravest and most kind. Your bows remind me of that. Man, I wish I could return to those days."
The man walked around, while G simply looked at him.
"G. Ask him about that old man," Link said from a distance, almost face-palming. This was the usual way of getting a quest from NPCs. You gotta interact with them until they give out one quest or another. Looking at G standing there had almost 90% of the stream, sigh, along with Blaze and Link. They wondered what would have happened if G were on his own.
"Who was that old man?" G followed Link's advice and asked.
"A friend. Aurelius, his name was. Would you like to know about him?" the man asked, a bit surprised to see G interested in his friend. G nodded with the same monotonous expression as before, making that man smile as he continued,
"All right. I will tell you the whole story of him. But first, I want you to show appreciation for the art that my friend once loved."
