Chapter 795  Azazel vs. Hubrion

"Don't worry about Lord Azazel," Iraelyn said, crossing her arms confidently. "He would surely win. He always does."

Vivi was noticeably rattled, anxiety etched across her features as she trembled in her seat. "Yes, but back then, he was at full power. Now . . . he's not even in his original body and lacks his full strength, while Hubrion is at full force and even has the corruption inside of him."

Elena shared Vivi's unease. "If worse comes to worst, we will intervene."

"Why not intervene now?" Desira questioned.

Avaris stared at her seriously and said, "Are you sure you want to stop this duel between those two? It's not just their lives on the line but their pride as demons as well."

Desira pouted, and Vivi released a deep breath.

Iraelyn remained focused on the stage with a serious expression. "If only I entered the stage first than Lord Azazel, this wouldn't have happened."

"What difference does it make?" Desira growled. "The moment that ugly centaur laid a hand on Lord Azazel, I will definitely kill him myself."

"Can we stop this duel?" Ren asked. "Or maybe go in there and fight ourselves."

He was worried that Azazel would be killed there, and the quest they had painstakingly worked on since the beginning would die with Azazel.

Vivi firmly shook her head. "No. Once two demons duel, there's nothing you can do but watch for the outcome. It's considered shameful to intervene between two fighting demons and devils. More shameful than being alive."

"So there's nothing we could do but watch?" Evie asked.

Iraelyn released a heavy breath. "That's right. That's our battle as their friends and spectator."

Ren and Evie exchanged glances, and the latter whispered, "What are we going to do, Ren?"

At that moment, Ren didn't really know. This was the first time that he had encountered something like this, and the story mode seemed more delicate than he had expected. One wrong move could jeopardize the whole thing. In his previous existence, he had never entered this type of story mode, and he certainly didn't possess knowledge of the Nether realm or what to anticipate from it.

"Let's wait and see first," Ren suggested, his eyes glued on the stage. "If things come to worst, we'll save him."

Evie nodded in agreement. "Got it."

As the tension in the arena heightened, Azazel's voice cut through the chaos with calm assurance, a stark contrast to the frenzied energy surrounding them.

"I've come to challenge you, Hubrion. Let's see if the Warlord of Pride could still defeat me!"

The bold proclamation lingered in the charged atmosphere, and the audience, initially uncertain of how to react, erupted into a cacophony of cheers, jeers, and angry roars.

"Huh?! What is that kid saying?!"

"For someone so small, he sure talks big!"

"Go home, kid! You'd kill yourself!"

Lord Hubrion kill him! Kill him!"

Ren couldn't help but shrink a little in his seat. "If he lost in the first round, I would be really embarrassed for him."

Desira's reaction was the opposite; her initial worry disappeared, replaced by loud cheers and shouts, complete with heart-shaped eyes. "That's my Lord! Show that ugly horse who's boss!"

Despite his concerns, Ren couldn't deny the thrill of curiosity, wondering how Azazel would approach this battle. So far, he had witnessed nothing incredible, but perhaps Azazel was saving his abilities for this very fight.

He was supposed to be the Demon Lord, so he would surely put up a fight even if he wasn't in his full strength.

The colossal coliseum trembled with anticipation as the spectators eagerly awaited the clash between Azazel and Hubrion. Azazel was exuding an air of confidence, and stood tall on the stage, his devilish charm apparent even in the face of an imposing adversary like Hubrion. Ren and the others, having witnessed Azazel's unwavering determination and strength throughout their journey, were expecting something extraordinary from the Demon Lord.

However, as the battle commenced, their expectations were quickly met with a surprising turn. With a single, powerful swing of Hubrion's massive axe, Azazel was sent soaring through the air, crashing into the ground with an impact that echoed through the arena. Ren sighed. He should have expected that.

Elena couldn't help but lament, "He couldn't even evade that slow strike. Is he really going to be alright?"

Lorelai shook his head. "What an idiot."

Vivi was visibly distressed, and shouted, "Lord Azazel, you can do it!" Desira, on the other hand, was fiercely fighting an imaginary foe in her seat, unable to contain her anger. "Hoi, Hubrion! How dare you hurt Lord Azazel! I will skewer you alive and feed you to the volcanic bullet ants!"

ǁ The Volcanic Bullet Ant ǁ

Known as the harbinger of excruciating agony in the Netherworld. Is a malevolent insect that thrives in the fiery landscapes of infernal realms. This sinister creature is infamous for inflicting unparalleled pain through its bite, making it a popular subject for demonic torture and a living nightmare for denizens of the Netherworld.

The Volcanic Bullet Ant is a visually intimidating insect, with an elongated body covered in dark, iridescent exoskeleton that reflects the fiery hues of the underworld. Its antennae are long and serrated, giving it a predatory appearance. The insect's mandibles are razor-sharp, resembling miniature scimitars ready to unleash torment.

These malevolent ants are relatively large, with an average length of around two inches. Their size, coupled with their potent bite, contributes to the intensity of the pain they inflict.

The exoskeleton of the Volcanic Bullet Ant is a deep, obsidian black, adorned with streaks of fiery red and orange. This coloration serves as both camouflage in the shadowy corners of the Netherworld and a visual warning to potential threats.

The ant's bite is swift and precise, delivering a concentrated dose of venom directly into the victim's bloodstream. The pain is instantaneous, radiating from the bite site and spreading through the nervous system like an unrelenting inferno. Victims often describe the sensation as an amalgamation of searing heat, stabbing needles, and relentless throbbing.

The pain induced by a Volcanic Bullet Ant bite is so intense that it can induce temporary paralysis in the victim, leaving them incapacitated and at the mercy of their torturers. Though the venom does not lead to death or any lasting physical harm, the psychological trauma from the experience can haunt the victim indefinitely.

In the Netherworld, the Volcanic Bullet Ant has become a symbol of sadistic creativity in torture methods. Demonic overlords and tormentors have incorporated these insects into various rituals and punishments, using the threat of their excruciating bites as a means of coercion and control.

The presence of Volcanic Bullet Ants serves as a constant reminder in the Netherworld, ensuring that even the most formidable demons tread carefully to avoid falling prey to their torturous stingers.
