MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter-Chapter 792 - : Before the Battle
Chapter 792: Chapter 792: Before the Battle
Li Yao breathed a sigh of relief, his greatest fear was that the queen would not believe him. The situation was too absurd, with the Lizardmen attacking the main city before they had even stabilized their footing, and that too, with an unclear intelligence situation. No other leader would believe him either.
“Regarding the teleportation array you discovered, do you have any suggestions?” The queen looked at Li Yao with a seemingly amused expression, “Speak your mind, don’t hold back.”
If it had been any other new soldier, she would not believe him. She had also sent out many scouts, strong as they were, none of them were able to detect what he did – it was quite inconceivable.

But Li Yao was different. Like the time she announced she would take Li Yao as her disciple, she didn’t actually want a real disciple.
This was why her test was so challenging. But, Li Yao did it, opening her eyes to him and accepting him as her student.
Later, Li Yao completed one impossible task after another, each time impressively, which made the queen regard him more and more heavily.
This time, since the scouts weren’t able to gather any useful information, she sent Li Yao, without having many expectations. Yet, he managed to accomplish a task that more skilled individuals couldn’t.
Once maybe luck, twice could still be considered luck. But, if it continues, it cannot be attributed solely to fortune.
“Not only must we not show weakness, but we must also turn defence into offense. We have to destroy the nodal points, and at the same time, take control of the teleportation array.” Li Yao sternly proposed.
“I won’t hide it from you. The main city is now extremely vulnerable. Most of the guard force is still in the West Continent, and there are less than 10,000 here. Because of the other planar channels, we cannot summon too many troops from the other battlefields. Adding in the Alchemist Association’s power, we can only muster at most 50,000 troops, and we cannot use them all. A minimum of 10,000 troops must stay behind to defend the main city. Hence, we can only deploy about 40,000 troops.”
The queen looked at the map and continued, “Furthermore, we have to face a powerful race. We do not know how many troops they have, but they will at least have 200,000 troops. Do you think our advance will be swift?”
Li Yao grit his teeth and replied, “I believe it’s possible.”
The queen raised an eyebrow and questioned, “Explain.”
“Firstly, the Lizardmen surely would have mustered all their forces to invade, but they can’t possibly deploy all their troops. Their plane isn’t devoid of threats. Until they have successfully connected their city to God’s Main Position, they cannot afford to fully commit to combat against us. Otherwise, their teleportation array would already be operational and there would be no need to hide. The fact that it’s not being used indicates that they are not yet ready to fully confront us,” explained Li Yao confidently.
“You’re correct, continue.”
“Secondly, the troops guarding the Chain Base are merely second-rate and not very strong. I’ve barely seen any soldiers of the sixth rank. If we launch a blitz attack, achieving our goal would be very easy.”
“That’s not enough, the reasons are far from satisfactory.” The queen gently shook her head.
“On the contrary, remember, we high elves are the most skilled at using magic, second only to the Blue Dragons. If it weren’t for the Dragon king controlling the Focusing Rainbow and protecting the magic source of the ancient gods, even the Blue Dragons wouldn’t have as much control over magic as us. The current planar channels allow our magicians to analyze the enemy’s formations based on a few nodes. If we use the enemy’s teleportation array to our advantage, we can effortlessly trap their main force,” argued Li Yao.
The queen nodded, she didn’t need to send high elves to borrow mages, she had plenty of banshees and undead under her command, many of whom were proficient in magic; she simply didn’t want to expose them too soon.
“Interesting, do you have any other suggestions?” The queen maintained her facade of indifference.
“Deceiving our enemy into thinking we are weak is necessary. Furthermore, we need to make them believe that we are investing all of our forces into attacking their main city. This way, they will likely disperse their forces using the teleportation array and invade Undercity. If we set up magic traps, or connect to a spatial rift, or even detonate their teleportation array at a critical moment, those tasks would be easy for us.”
“And then?”
Li Yao paused, was the queen still not convinced? He pondered for a moment before speaking again, “I have one last idea. We could purposefully spark the plague with the help of the Great Alchemists Guild. Although this will inevitably lead to opposition from other races, we can use this opportunity…”
The queen’s expression changed, “Enough, I get your point. Your ideas are good, but don’t share them with others.”
“Aside from the teacher, no one else would pay me any attention even if I told them,” shrugged Li Yao.
“Enough with the chatter. Return to your camp immediately and wait for my orders. We will need you once the battle begins tomorrow,” the queen motioned with her hand.
Li Yao bowed and returned to his camp using the teleportation array, then he headed towards his own tent.
Li Yao knew that by tomorrow at the latest, the grand battle would begin. This would likely be the first interplanar war among the NPCs, and it would definitely garner attention.
Upon his return, Li Yao immediately noticed the boiling atmosphere in the camp. Clearly, the undead were starting to prepare for the battle in full swing.
Li Yao understood that the queen didn’t have a choice. If she chose to attack, there was a chance of survival. If she continued to defend and waited for troops to arrive, Undercity might be in jeopardy.
The group of Mages under Li Yao’s control was also given a mission. However, Li Yao didn’t bother with it since he wasn’t familiar with complex magic. After all, he was only a hunter.
“How is the situation in the sandbar?” Li Yao communicated with Sister Li.
Sister Li replied, “We’ve figured it out. It’s not the main city of a single race. Along with the combined resistance of the three camps, the overall situation seems stable. The only issue is that the players are just too weak. These aliens are too formidable, they’re all experts.”
“You know that they’re alien races who fight for survival and territory every day, their strength is naturally high. However, this is temporary. Their arrival will elevate the overall skill level here,” Li Yao explained.
“That’s true. So, did you contact me because you need something?” asked Sister Li. Li Yao had never had a private chat with her without a purpose.
