Chapter 1595: Chapter 69: The Indigo Branchbird

In her role as a Songstress, Tilan indeed faces controversy, but as the leader of the ’Jade Dragon’ in the Southern Star Region, her actual achievements cannot be ignored. During this period, she has spearheaded the development of countless industries, and her followers are too numerous to count. Such protests, like mosquito bites, cannot resolve the issue.

However, to everyone’s surprise, after this protest, Tilan actually came out to respond, and the results of her response exceeded everyone’s expectations.

"I know some people do not like me, but fortunately, more people support and believe in our cause." Standing on the podium, this young girl wore a simple black off-the-shoulder dress, adorned with a blue and gold conjoined flower on her right shoulder.

"I am aware that this is a time of extreme difficulty, the Federation needs change, and we need to develop different paths, those that break through many old frameworks."

"I understand this is not the time to give up, I should bear the pressure with more resolute determination, and shoulder everyone’s expectations."

"However." She paused, her gaze slowly sweeping across everyone present. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"I am unwilling to continue everything in the future with such an unclear and embarrassing identity."

"Since I am not ’complete’ enough, in line with the Federation’s tradition to be a Songstress, I have no choice but to abandon this title and identity."

"To avoid suspicion, I will also relinquish all the positions and powers obtained because of the Songstress title, in response to this announcement."

After saying this, the audience was in an uproar; not only were the people of the Southern Star Region extremely shocked, but even the factions and forces in the Central Star Domain were puzzled. Many were expecting Tilan to break the ’Fire Lotus - Radiant Star’ rule and change the situation, but now, she had so easily and decisively given up.

The whole incident seemed like a farce, yet later on, this young girl truly acted on what she had said not long ago, resigning from her position as the leader of the ’Jade Dragon’ and entering into negotiations with Prin Coco again.

About a month later, the Federal Center announced the peaceful takeover of the Southern and Western Star Regions. The terms and conditions included not persecuting those who had previously opposed the Central Faction, and no substantial policy changes in the next five years, with personnel changes not exceeding 10% annually.

In this seemingly unpredictable situation, the Federation miraculously unified again, achieving a revival many did not dare to hope for.

The technology possessed by the ’Jade Dragon’ and ’Radiant Stars’ is expected to gradually spread to various star domains within the Federation over the next 20 years, for the development of the worlds in the sky and on land, and to improve the living environment for all Federation residents.

It is foreseeable that in the coming decades, the Federation will experience a period of rapid economic revival and development, until the current technological innovations are fully realized, entering another stable phase.

Months after the events, some people began analyzing the reasons for this remarkable outcome, and eventually, a widely accepted view was reached.

That is, as the two Songstresses from the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, Prin and Tilan, might have had a personal relationship far better than outsiders imagined. This high level of trust made this seemingly impossible negotiation reach an agreement in a short period and allowed for a smooth transition.

Additionally, although the two had different philosophies and styles, there were no irreconcilable conflicts, and the success of this negotiation might be speculated to be due to Tilan eventually abandoning her previous beliefs and allowing Prin to pursue her path.

...

Leaving the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, leaving the Southern Star Region, Tilan did not accept Prin’s invitation to the Central Star Domain but instead took a small group of core followers to the distant Sigma Mechanical Council.

On the Long-distance Starship, Tilan slept soundly in her exclusive bedroom, enjoying this rare leisurely life free from various affairs.

With her steady breathing, time slowly passed by.

Six hours later, a chime sounded, and this girl, akin to a high school student, stretched out a snow-white, art-like arm from under the covers, turned off the alarm, and after a while, opened the covers, shook her black-green hair, and sat up.

Walking barefoot across the soft carpet, Tilan opened the curtains on one side of the room, from where the brilliant Star River outside was visible, as the starship was in a buffering phase, not yet in superluminal flight mode.

"It’s about time for dinner." Tilan glanced at the time on the terminal to the side, it was just past 18:02 in the evening.

She looked at the thin nightgown she was wearing, thought it was a bit inappropriate to go to the dining hall like this, so she turned to the closet, selected an outfit from hundreds of sets on what resembled an exhibition rack, changed, and left the room.

The corridor was spacious enough to drive through, and Tilan encountered many accompanying staff along the way.

"Good evening, Lord Tilan." Two attendants in white uniforms with silver edges saluted; they were elite personnel absorbed in the recent years from the Pitch Night Flower Star Cluster, each around Sequence 7.

In response, Tilan nodded, telling them not to be so formal, and then continued onward, meeting three Blood Clan maids walking together, naturally following Tilan wherever she went, now performing some support work on the starship.

"Lord Tilan~" They greeted this young girl lightly and politely, then introduced the evening’s menu at the dining hall to Tilan.

"The windmill ice cream has a great texture, sweet but not cloying, with a touch of vanilla’s cool scent."

"And the specially grilled big red dress fish is also very delicious."

It seemed they quickly adapted to life on the starship, now that Tilan had resigned, many of these Blood Clan maids found themselves with much free time.

Turning the corner into the cozily decorated dining hall, one of the 27 dining points on the starship, specially modified from a battleship by the ’Jade Dragon,’ capable of accommodating 200,000 passengers, but at its limit could hold around 600,000, though it would be crowded and food would be insufficient.

This time, Tilan headed to the Sigma Mechanical Council with three modified battleships, carrying nearly 600,000 crew members, ten percent of whom were ship staff, and the rest her loyal elite supporters.

If she wanted, she could have taken ten times the people, but that would not have been a peaceful departure.

According to estimates, she would stay at the Sigma Mechanical Council for about 20 years, exploring future civilization paths such as human-machine symbiosis, the essence of soul consciousness, the role of the physical body in personal spiritual and character growth, and the establishment of new societal value standards, among other things.

Twenty years is certainly not enough for these subjects, but Tilan estimates that about 20 years later, the Federation will face new issues, at which point she will decide whether to intervene or continue waiting for the right moment.

"Well, that’s how people are, not turning back until hitting the wall." Tilan’s gaze passed through the metal glass on the aisle side, to the distant stars.

"That’s how I am, so is the Federation; everyone needs to exhaust all their obsessions to finally gain stability and move forward steadfastly."

If she stayed, even if she defeated Prin Coco and implemented reforms, some would still wonder if the path represented by Prin Coco might have been the better choice, ultimately beginning to doubt everything now.

What one cannot obtain will always have fantasies and expectations, thus always be accompanied by unwillingness and regret.

Given this, let them have it.

She was tired of arguing about right and wrong with people and did not want anyone agonizing over this issue in the future, trying and failing repeatedly.

So, let them go ahead, maybe only through pain can people awaken, willingly abandoning the past, stepping onto a new path.

She didn’t want to force others, nor wanted to be cursed as a sacrificial lamb, for such forced beauty would only breed resentment.

The process must be correct, the result must also be correct, to move towards the future without regrets or remorse; such a future, with sunny skies and colorful sunsets, was the ending she desired.

As time washes over, everyone’s heart becomes like a clean glass bottle, imbued with a faint glow, simple and tranquil.
