MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1009: Fastest Victory
But before Aura Nova could reply, Altheria cut in, "So much for women supporting women," she clicked her tongue as she spoke, her tone laced with faint mockery and deliberate provocation.
Vega’s eyes turned toward Altheria, and she merely smiled before shaking her head without uttering a single word. There was nothing like feminism when it came to battle results; there was only the loser and the winner, and the outcome spoke louder than any ideology ever could.
Aura Nova’s gaze shifted toward Vega, her sky-blue eyes meeting Vega’s purple ones as they stared at one another in silence, an unspoken understanding passing between them. After a brief moment of contemplation, Aura Nova simply nodded without saying a word, but if anyone truly understood her nature, they would recognize that the nod was nothing more than a casual acknowledgment, not a gesture of agreement or concession in regard to Vega’s earlier statement.
Still, Aura Nova found the situation somewhat amusing and oddly reminiscent of the dynamic between Aaaninja, Anthony, and Lucian.
Aaaninja had lost to Anthony three years ago and had since been unwaveringly determined to secure a rematch, yet Lucian had always been there to remind him of the apparent futility of his efforts, speaking as though he seen something that others could not see.
And now, within this circumstance, she found herself in Aaaninja’s position, while Vega had assumed the role of Lucian, advising her that even if she returned from future training vastly improved, the ultimate result will remain unchanged.
Aura Nova smiled at the thought, nearly laughing aloud at the irony, but she restrained herself and simply shook her head. What she required at this moment were two things: first, to conclude her battle with Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos, and second, to return to the Dusk Planet as swiftly as possible to commence her seclusion training immediately, for at this very moment countless inspirations, revelations, and methods of improvement burned intensely within her mind.
’I hope we can get this Divinora Angel Galaxy nonsense over with quickly,’ she thought to herself, as any unnecessary delay would inevitably interfere with her training. What was the purpose of entering seclusion only to be forced out prematurely before achieving one’s objective due to an enemy invasion or unforeseen disruption.
"Shall we proceed to the next battle?" Klaus’ voice echoed across the sky, instantly gathering everyone’s attention with its authoritative resonance.
After receiving nods from everyone present, he snapped his fingers as usual, and the screen displaying five numbers materialized before them once more, the digits jumping and shuffling rapidly in midair.
Although no one voiced it aloud, everyone understood that this entire sparring session was approaching its conclusion, as nearly everyone had already challenged one another, and only a few anticipated matches remained.
Soon, the numbers ceased their movement, and two digits appeared prominently; Three Versus Five.
Lucian Darkheart Versus Kingsley Sky.
Lucian’s gaze shifted toward Kingsley, who remained seated with his customary calm demeanor and indifferent expression. In the next instant, both of them vanished from their positions as they tore downward toward the battlefield below.
They landed with effortless precision, standing a few meters apart. Neither of them exchanged words; in fact, Kingsley had rarely spoken throughout his various spars, as he was not one for conversation, unlike Lucian, who at times indulged in it. Thus, both of them simply stood there, relaxed and unperturbed, as though the atmosphere itself held no weight over them.
"Begin."
Klaus’ voice rumbled through the air once more, signaling the official commencement of the spar. Kingsley did not hesitate; he immediately activated his Law Defiance Field, instantly canceling every form of energy within a considerable radius around him.
But it was futile, for in the very next moment, all he heard was the distinct sound of a katana being sheathed behind him. His eyes widened in shock, unable to comprehend how that sound had originated from his rear. His golden gaze shifted downward to see flame-imbued footprints scorched into the earth, unmistakably signaling the use of a flame-based movement technique.
With that realization, his head separated cleanly from his neck as Lucian concluded the battle in less than a second after it had begun, marking the fastest recorded victory achieved thus far in this entire sparring session.
Lucian Darkheart stared briefly at Kingsley’s corpse before turning away without any alteration in his expression. He had ended the battle decisively and with ruthless efficiency simply because Kingsley was dangerous. Kingsley had mastered the Martial Rhythm, and Lucian could not permit him the opportunity to utilize that ability during their spar, for it might have altered the outcome unfavorably.
Although Kingsley’s Law Defiance Field was formidable, capable of blocking mana, intents, and various other forms of energy, a unique talent of Lucian’s allowed him to manipulate the four fundamental elements without requiring an external energy source for activation. That was precisely how he had managed to conclude the battle so swiftly and decisively.
"Lucian Darkheart wins," Klaus announced in a tone bordering on boredom, as he had anticipated a spectacle rather than the abrupt display Lucian had delivered, yet he could hardly voice a complaint.
Lucian vanished from where he stood and reappeared within the spectator area, where everyone was observing the matches. He took his seat with the same indifferent expression and composed demeanor as always.
Anthony, who was seated beside him, let out a low whistle of amusement as he remarked, "That has to be the fastest fight in history."
Lucian Darkheart sighed and shook his head, fully aware that Anthony was teasing him, and he did not even bother to offer a response.
Kingsley’s corpse twitched momentarily as though glitching within reality itself, then vanished and reappeared intact as he returned to life as though nothing had transpired. Just like Lucian, he vanished from the battlefield and reappeared in his seat. He did not speak; instead, he simply closed his eyes in contemplation, as though attempting to dissect and comprehend what had occurred.
As everyone observed him closing his eyes, no one attempted to tease him for losing so swiftly. Instead, their attention shifted back to the screen, and this time an unmistakable excitement permeated the air so intensely that it could almost be physically felt, as everyone could already anticipate who the next two combatants would be.
The screen flashed as two numbers appeared; One Versus Two.
Null Anthony Versus Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos.
Neither Anthony nor Aaaninja bothered to look at one another. They simply vanished from their seats and appeared on the battlefield below. Whether this battle would conclude immediately as it had during their last encounter three years ago remained unknown to everyone present.
Both had undoubtedly grown stronger since then, but the lingering question remained: could Aaaninja, with all his newly acquired power and abilities, truly overcome the man known as Null Anthony.
"Begin."
Klaus’ voice tore through the clouds like a thunderclap, and this time even he could not conceal the excitement and anticipation woven into his tone as the long-awaited clash was finally about to unfold.
