Mercenary's War-Chapter 39 - Fully Armed
39: Chapter 39 Fully Armed
39 -39 Fully Armed
Seeing Gao Yang pick up a 1911, Simon said with an expressionless face, “If you choose the 1911, you can use my gun.
Like Bob, I also like custom guns, especially reliable ones.”
Simon lifted his clothes and took out a gun from the holster under his arm, turned it around, and handed the grip to Gao Yang, saying with an expressionless face, “Wait for me to give you a quick-detach holster, also, I heard you’re good with shotguns?
I’m also very proficient with shotguns.
I think we could have a match, so don’t die before I’ve had the chance to repay the favor.”
Gao Yang took Simon’s handgun and gave it a glance, not noticing any difference between Simon’s gun and the one in his hand, but he knew that if Moses had said his gun was better, it must be so.
“Thank you, I will return it to you.”
After finishing his words, Gao Yang looked at Cui Bo, who was wearing a dazed expression, and said, “Have you gone stupid?
Hurry up and pick one.”
Learning he also had a share, Cui Bo grabbed an M4 and slung it over his shoulder without a word, then he picked up a P226 handgun, gleefully saying, “I’ve never shot a handgun before, so I might as well stick to this, it’s easier to control with less recoil.
Brother Yang, knowing you can’t carry too much, how about I carry an extra M4 for you?”
Gao Yang picked up a shotgun and smiled, “I have this, it’s enough for me.
I warn you not to take too much, or it will be difficult to move when the time comes.”
The shotgun Gao Yang chose was a Remington 870 Pump Action Shotgun, which is one of the most common shotgun models, especially among American military and police forces.
With a magazine capacity of seven rounds plus one in the chamber, eight shots could handle almost any scenario.
In situations where a shotgun was needed, which inevitably meant close or even extremely close range if eight rounds didn’t solve the problem, then it only meant there were too many enemies, and even wielding a Gatling gun would mean certain death.
While Gao Yang and Cui Bo were arming themselves, Glolov simply leaned on his machine gun, standing there and watching.
Simon glanced at him and asked, “Aren’t you planning to pick a secondary weapon?”
Glolov shook his head and said, “No, I’d rather carry an extra drum of ammo.
I don’t like the M4, and I’m not good with handguns, besides, if I need to use a handgun, I’m probably already dead.”
Simon didn’t say anymore; he just walked over to a cabinet near the cockpit on his own, took out a lot of stuff, and then came back and dropped it in front of Gao Yang, saying, “Three bulletproof vests, very light, less than three kilograms, but they meet the American CLASS three standard, enough to stop any handgun bullet.
By the way, I should add that these are Huaxia goods, the best and cheapest bulletproof vests in the world.
Oh, and there are also two combat vests and two 3D packs, with quick-draw holsters.
You’ll definitely find them useful.”
The gear Simon brought might not have been weapons, but to Gao Yang they were no less important than weapons.
Being laden with a bunch of stuff dangling around was very uncomfortable; with this gear, movement would be much more convenient, and what was more important, safety had an additional layer of protection.
Gao Yang and Cui Bo donned their bulletproof vests, then layered combat vests over them, and securely fastened their holstered quick-draw guns.
Even Glolov took off all his gear and put on a bulletproof vest himself; it’s always good to be more secure, and the extra weight was worth it, even if it meant carrying a few more kilograms.
After they had geared up, Gao Yang and Cui Bo began to pack magazines in convenient locations.
With their combat vests, it was much easier to access their magazines.
While Gao Yang and Cui Bo were busy, the others weren’t idle.
Bob loaded ten magazines for his M1A with bullets, half of them with hand-loaded rounds and the other half with specially selected rounds.
In total, that was two hundred bullets—enough for Gao Yang to sustain a protracted battle if he was only to use them for precision shooting.
Bob still had plenty of M1A bullets left, but Gao Yang didn’t take any extra; the ten twenty-round magazines were enough for his needs.
Fearing close combat, Gao Yang deliberately took extra shotgun shells, a full sixty rounds of the 00 buckshot with exceptionally large pellets.
Luckily, buckshot wasn’t very heavy, just bulky.
Besides shotgun shells, Gao Yang took four additional pistol magazines.
Including the one in his gun, he had thirty-five rounds of expanding bullets.
Gao Yang figured it was unlikely he would encounter opponents wearing body armor, so the expanding bullets, with their superior stopping capability, became his first choice.
However, Gao Yang didn’t take many pistol bullets.
Like Glolov, he thought that if he needed to defend himself with a pistol, he wouldn’t need many rounds.
If he encountered a situation requiring a large number of bullets to eliminate the enemy, he was probably already dead. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Morgan seemed to be quite adept with electronic gear.
He replaced the batteries in the night vision scope on Gao Yang’s rifle to avoid them dying at a critical moment.
He also replaced the batteries in the helmet-mounted light intensification night vision device Gao Yang had picked up.
These would come in handy if there was going to be a night battle.
When Gao Yang took his gun and ammo, he always considered whether he needed that much, but Cui Bo just packed as much as he could fit without a thought to the weight.
He filled a 3D pack halfway with just twenty M4 magazines and added twenty pistol magazines, clearing out Moses and his team’s stock.
After assessing there was still room in his 3D pack, Cui Bo unpacked two bags of 5.56mm rounds to fill the gaps and placed about a hundred and ten 7.62mm NATO rounds for his Remington M700 into a separate compartment.
At this point, Cui Bo carried about twenty kilograms in bullets and magazines alone, excluding the weight of his guns.
With Cui Bo’s physique, he had the right to pack that heavily; no matter how much, he could still carry it.
Thankfully, the backpacks used by Simon and his crew were top-tier quality, or they might not have withstood the weight.
After Gao Yang had packed nearly everything, and hung full gear on his body, he still felt like he was missing something.
He thought hard for a moment, then slapped his forehead, asking Bob to retrieve the hunting knife he had kept since the plane crash.
Now, his knife even had a rough, hand-crafted leather scabbard that could be securely attached to his body.
It may sound complicated, but it took Gao Yang and his team less than ten minutes to fully arm themselves.
When Gao Yang was about to leave, convinced there was nothing left behind, Morgan called out to him again.
After a heavy sigh, Morgan handed his satellite phone and charger to Gao Yang, saying somberly, “I don’t just owe you a favor; I also owe you money.
Maybe you’re the creditor I’d most like to see in my lifetime.
Remember, I’ll be waiting for your call, and you’re welcome to come and collect your debt.”
